Ruby is on the run, but the black eyed children haven’t forgotten her… Battered and wheelchair bound, Ruby has now found refuge in a dingy apartment building. Her brain is wracked by nightmares and an all-consuming sense of paranoia. The days are marked by a simple routine of eating, taking pain medication, finishing rudimentary tasks at her day job, and most importantly, to not let them in. Yet the demonic children with their pool-black eyes have not forgotten her. They are determined to break down every ounce of sanity until nothing remains. The evil children want Ruby. And they won’t rest until they finally possess her. Thunderous storms beat relentlessly against the building’s windows, and a newly gruesome monster suddenly appears. Its wide, grinning teeth and bloody smile haunt Ruby’s every waking hour … or is this new abomination a figment of her increasingly fragile imagination? With their eerily child-like voices calling out to her, and the grisly creature playing mind-games, Ruby must find a way to banish these horrific fiends once and for all. At her wits end, and physically broken, she will have to keep the children out of her house, and out of her head. But they are terribly relentless. And all they really want is to come in…
This was a good conclusion to the series. We learn a lot more about the black eyed children and what one must endure to beat them. This installment of terror had a lot to do with mind games for our main character Ruby, while still a great story I wish it involved the kids directly a little more. Definitely a good read, would recommend reading the first two in the series before this one though. Enjoy!
Just finished the third and last book in the trilogy. Aside from the many extra words that I thought was repetitive, this was an exciting and sometimes scary read. I finished them in three nights. One book a night. The image of those three kids was worth reading the books. I would recommend the trilogy to my friends and fellow horror buffs.
It was OK, I wish the author could of done an epilogue of ruby & Tristan 1 or 2 years later but it didn't. The ending was a little lame it could of been better .
Just as good as the other 2 books in this trilogy of terror!! Hooray for "The Black-eyed Children" series!! Scary beyond belief!! Hopefully I will never meet these children!!!!!!!!
This is the third book in the trilogy and I found all three to be excellent. I would definitely recommend that you read these books. If you like stories related to Paranormal legend then this is for you.
I loved the first 2 books. This one is just so boring. Every moment of this book she just keeps bumping her broken leg. Oh the monsters found her, best do laundry for dry towels. Gave up after 75 pages. Read the first 2 and ignore this one.

Really enjoyed Black Eyed Children and was hoping this would be equally as good. It was an okay read but the main character just got on my nerves that by the end I was hoping they would get her. Still, Sara Clancy is becoming one of my favorite authors.
