Sarah Kesley is just trying to get by. After barely scraping a diploma in the pre-med program at UC Berkeley, she’s left with few options for medical school. Now she’s stuck in a dead end job, trying to figure out what she should do next. Love is the last thing on her mind.
Ethan Pierce is a good friend. Such a good friend, in fact, that Sarah is starting to notice him in a way she hasn’t before. Those late night car rides, those meetings in the park, those long, quiet talks. Suddenly Sarah is seeing Ethan in a different light.
When they both go on a last-minute trip to Paris, it’s obvious that things are starting to change between them. And what could be better than a new love in the city of lights?
But there are people to be reckoned with at home, and one in particular could undermine their love altogether.
NOTE: This STAND-ALONE romance contains very steamy love scenes. All of the books in the Great Escapes series can be read in any order.
I am happy to call the San Francisco Bay Area home, where I lives with my husband, two kids, one dog and three cats. I started writing at an early age, but have only been writing novels for the past five years. I love the idea of love conquering all, and that is what drove me to begin the Great Escapes series, where the reader follows couples meeting up in exotic locations around the world. In this series, each book is a stand-alone, and each can be read in any order.
But readers, be forewarned, there is a healthy amount of steam in these books!
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy Great Escapes!

Overall I liked this book. Sarah and Ethan are friends. Then they and some other friends go to Paris together. They end up getting together. The problem is that Ethan's ex is also Sarah's best friend. So of course when the truth comes out things get bad but it all works out in the end.
Two friends start finding each other more attractive, funny and lovely. They try to keep all their feelings hiden because even though they are friends he is the ex of her best friend.
Ethan can't believe that Nora, his girlfriend, was cheating and now want to break up with him. He is brokenhearted but he is not going to fight for her. A year later he is with his friends Levy, Will, Cam and Sarah playing poker like every week but he cannot stop looking at Sarah.
Sarah is starting to feel attracted to Ethan but that cannot be possible, it doesn't matter that Nora is with Nate now, you cannot be with an ex of a friend!
She always wanted to go to Paris but life got in the way. The guys are planning a trip to Paris and paying for her ticket as a birthday gift. Months later they are all in Paris but she do not know if she can keep her feelings underwraps. Not now that she knows that Ethan feels the same. But what will happens when they get to the real life?

Not perfection, but pretty close, this was a well-written, realistic glimpse into the tangled love and close friend relationships of a small group of 20-somethings. Sarah, the heroine, is very appealing as a young woman who's a bit lost, career dreams unfulfilled and a smoldering attraction to her roommate/best friend's ex, Ethan. A dream one-week trip to Paris gives you a real feel for the separate personalities in the group and leads to a huge conflict for Sarah, as she realizes she has to make major decisions and not just coast along. I liked the group's perspective on Paris and its attractions. I really felt like I was there with them. All in all, a really good story, though I did find the steamy scenes a bit too drawn out in the second half of the story. Just a tad, nothing major, or I would not have rated this a 5-star read!!:-)
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Between Friends (Great Escapes Book 3) by Charlotte Blake This is Sarah Kesley and Ethan Pierce’s story.
I loved the idea of friends to lovers romance. Sarah and Ethan seemed perfect for each other. This story had potential but fell short for me. I had trouble staying interested. I did enjoy the ending.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
>>>>>I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Review Copy of this book for an honest review<<< Sarah Kesley and Ethan Pierce is a member of a group of friends and they cherished each other dearly. The only thing is that Ethan has been cheated on by Sarah best friend and roommate Nora. Sarah is very supportive of her best friend yet she has a secret herself. The story was exceptional and encompasses love and true devotion. What happens when the secret is revealed? It is worth the read to find out.
She fell in love with her best friend's ex. This complicated things and caused her heartbreak. She hated to be secretive and untrustworthy. She rather broke up with him, moving in with a mutual friend while she tried to sort her feelings out. He understood and continued to believe in their love. Different. Real. Well written, especially her excitement at a week spent in Paris with three friends.
This was a great read. The characters and their stories held me captive the whole way through. Falling for one best friend, but meanwhile hurting the other, it's a hard situation, but the best thing for them all came through and was a wonderful story. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
this book was amazing! its about two people that have been friends for a long time. they all decide to go on a trip. feelings beyond friendship start. how far will they take this? read to find out what happens.
Voluntary review of an ARC. Lovely sweet romance. Characters were believable and worked well together although I would have liked a little more depth to their backgrounds. Love scenes were nice and I enjoyed them very much. I would like to read more in the series.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was good. It was a cute friends to lovers story. I liked Sarah and Ethan. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
I didn’t enjoy it as such, but I didn’t hate it either. It was meh 😑 A bit too much angst with the should we/shouldn’t we, I really do not like Nora and there isn’t much depth to the any of the characters really
