Amanda Conner started out in comics working small projects for Marvel and Archie while working as an illustrator for New York ad agencies Kornhauser and Calene and Kidvertisers. working a number of launches and campaigns such as Arm & Hammer, PlaySchool and Nickelodeon.

However, loving comic books and cartooning the most, Amanda found herself working for Marvel on their Barbie line (much of Amanda’s covers inspired designs for the line of Barbie toys), Disney line which included the Gargoyles books. At the same time she was illustrating “Soul Searchers & Co.” for Claypool Comics and worked on other Marvel projects, such as Excalibur for the X-Men line and “Suburban Jersey Ninja She-Devils”.

During an assignment for Crusade (‘Tomoe’) she and Jimmy Palmiotti became a real team as penciller/inker.

Amanda then moved on to do what is probably one of her best known works. She did several years as penciller on the hit series “Vampirella” for Harris Comics and drafted 24 issues. While illustrating “Vampirella”, Amanda worked with the top writers in the field, Grant Morrison, Mark Millar and Warren Ellis.

Continuing to expand her horizons, Amanda illustrated the best-selling crossover “Painkiller Jane vs. the Darkness”, and went on to work on “Painkiller Jane” #0 (the origin book). She also wrote and illustrated a story for “Kid Death and Fluffy”.

Since then, Amanda has worked on many of the top titles in comics such as “Lois Lane”, “Codename: Knockout”, and “Birds of Prey” for D.C. Comics Vertigo line, “X-Men Unlimited” for Marvel, co-created “Gatecrasher” for Blackbull Comics, and “The Pro”, an Eisner nominated creator owned book for Image Comics with Jimmy Palmiotti and Garth Ennis. Recently she worked on the highly publicized Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre series with Eisner winning creator Darwyn Cooke.

Amanda’s work can also be seen outside the comic book community in such places as ABC’S Nightline, the New York Times, Mad Magazine, the new sci-fi Stan lee “So You Want to be a Superhero” series and the upcoming Disney Underdog movie character designs for film and television, character designs for the Los Angeles Avengers stadium football team and is featured in a Biography magazine commercial on A&E. Amanda does spot illustrations in “Revolver” magazine each month and has had a huge success with the JSA Powergirl miniseries in previous years, each issue going into 3rd printings.

She continuously produces cover work for Marvel Comics, DC Comics and an assortment of independent titles.

With PaperFilms co-founder Jimmy Palmiotti, they are currently working on the highly received Harley Quinn series and other Harley Quinn related titles for DC Comics, in addition to several upcoming DC related projects. Garnering national attention and sales results, the team continues to receive accolades for their work on these titles. The new relaunch of Harley Quinn for DC in the Rebirth line garnered an estimated 250,000 copies ordered.

Somethin’ is da air!

This is first part (of three) of the storyarc “Joker Loves Harley”.

Creative Team:

Writers: Amanda Conner & Jimmy Palmiotti

Illustrator: John Timms

(MAD) LOVE IS IN THE AIR?

In this comic book issue begins formally the brief storyarc of Joker Loves Harley and while I am not buying this particular run of “Rebirth” since DC decided to publish it twice per month and since I can’t afford it, so opted to check the title and if something brief (only 3 issues) like this would appear, well I’d buy it.

Good ol’ Harley i son Coney Island and she has her own gang and business are good since she even do some paid jobs for the NYPD Chief of Police when some supervillains got too hard to arrest…

…her days when she was a Joker’s minion are quite over and way in the past…

…but past has the nasty custom of trying to reach us and now it’s turn for our favorite insanely criminal psychiatrist…

…Joker comes to her apartment to talk…

…yep, nothin’ good will come out of this!

This was a free digital comic my partner got for free. We both love comics so I was excited about reading this comic as a way to kick off the weekend. After reading for a bit, I just found it a bit dull and slightly confusing plot wise. The part I liked best was when Harley was a badass fighting and using her hand grenades. Red Tool just seemed unnecessary and frankly kind of useless. It’s clear all he wants is sex. He’s not on Harley’s level honestly. The new Mayor’s Assistant was interesting and I might like to see her in a villain role. Still the ladies in this comic aren’t enough for me to read more.

I thought this one was anew one, but it looks like a compilation of a story already included inside Harley's regular series...

I am going to be honest and tell you that it is rare that I pick up anything DC (unless it is Wonder Woman) and even rarer if it is Harley Quinn.

But the cover to this one caught my eye. I have to say this one is simply stunning. There are no words to describe how pretty this cover is and if there are to be more covers like this then it might continue to pique my interest in the series (I'm a sucker for covers).

The story opens with the Joker having returned to Harley but Harley doesn't seem very happy to see him in the least. Perhaps she has reasons for this (as I have not read any comics between them) and though he seems to be sincere in his words, part of Harley (as well as myself) wonder what motives he has to be interested in her.

On top of that Red Tool is far less than pleased that Harley's former lover is back in the picture. I cannot say I blame him either especially with the history between the two of them. It makes one wonder what exactly Joker has come for Harley for. It always tend to be only when she is useful to him but I suppose we will have to wait until the next installment to find out.

I like Harley in this series. She is interesting and seems to be doing something that has made her much more of a hero than what she had been in the beginning of her life. She is carving something for herself but now things might be changing especially with the joker coming back into the picture. How Harley will handle this is really anyone's guess.

I think I am going to go back and look for the rest of this series and see what exactly has been going on with it.

All in all, I recommend this. I like this Harley and I think many will end up like this one too.

It was good. One of the best comics that came out today, which honestly isn't saying too much. However, I think I'm the only one who hates Harley/Joker with a burning passion. Or, rather, the Joker in general. So, while a lot of people will love this issue and them being reunited, I don't. Same as, a lot of people will get annoyed with Red Tool "butting in," but I didn't. Red Tool doesn't annoy me at all, actually, which from what I've read is the exception to the rule.

This comic adds a missing scenes in the Harley Quinn issues #11 - 13.

The issue opens up with Harley finding the Joker in her apartment petting her beloved weiner dog, Nathan. Harley, of course, is not pleased at his appearance. In fact after she frees her little dog and sends him downstairs, she turns back to the Joker with a knife in her hands. Joker doesn't even twitch, only tells her he wishes to discuss some matters with her. Harley is thunder-struck that he wants to talk as adults.

As Joker exits, Red Tool comes blaring into her room. The two discuss the reason behind Joker's sudden appearance. Red Tool believes that there is motive for his appearance and so does Harley but she isn't in the mood to discuss it. Instead, she and Red Tool head off to do some damage.

The scene changes to the Mayor, whom has a Homeless problem he wants to get rid of. He also wants Madison as his assisstant. Madison, on the other hand, has reasons of becoming his second hand. She thinks that the Chief of Police employing Harley is headed to disaster and she also believes that if they make some big moves this may prove to get the Mayor re-elected when the time comes.

Harley and Red Tool have broken into a wax museum. There Harley takes down a ghostly tentacle monster. Afterward, Harley heads home to get ready for bed. There she sets her alarm to wake her for her meeting with Joker. As she falls asleep, she is unaware that Red Tool has turned off her alarm.

This was a nice added bonus. It helped to understand what exactly happened to cause Harley's alarm to be turned off. You cannot be too mad at Red Tool for trying to protect her. I know he is not everyone's cup of tea but I think he adds to her a bit. I don't see him as something as a romantic interest for her but more of a brother. I tend to like this relationship. Who knows maybe there might be something more to their relationship.

Enjoyed the 4 pages ft Harley Quinn - the rest was all Batman though, not really what I was expecting, and quite confusing as it seemed to pick up in the middle of a comic, without really explaining what was going on.

However it's worth noting I have the October 2017 version, which has a different cover to this one - I can't seem to find the alternate edition or locate via barcode scanner, but the title/authors are the same. Just noted this incase the version currently showing is a different story.

I was stuck in a reading funk and decided to give a comic a shot. Little did I know I would become a huge fan of Harley Quinn that I have been devouring all her comics. I love the art and the stories paint her in a light I never expected. I have enjoyed every installment so far and looking forward to reading them all. Highly recommend she's quickly become my favorite DC character.

I picked this up at my local comic/game store for free. I found it a little confusing. It is interesting to see how popular Harley Quinn has come. This issue starts with the Joker confronting Harley. The middle makes little sense and the end sets up a story arc. I would have liked this issue to have been more self-contained but for the price of free I enjoyed it.

Not sure what's going on for the backstory (as i missed the other book), but interesting read..

Interesting plot, but I couldn't fully get the story of Harley & Joker being broken up...

It was quite interesting how her new minion seems to think he has a shot dating Harley if he can keep The Joker out of the picture.

Awwwww I'm so glad this arc is about how much we all hate the Joker. And even though Red Tool is a cheap bit, I think he's cute. Now. I'm back on board with the series now that that Christmas issue with super tiddies Harley is gone. Amanda and Jimmy take good care of my girl.

A short story about Harley Quinn shortly after she has broken up with the Joker. She teams up with Red Tool to fight a blob like creature.

This is just the first issue so you don't find out a whole lot in it. But it is interesting and would make me want to read more to see how it develops.

Well, it's quite interesting. I don't know whether the ones who don't know anything about the series understand this well. It's good. But I was not impressed at it like I did for other ones. It was OK but not impressive.
