I really wanted to love this collection, as 11 is one of my favorite Doctors. Sadly, I just didn't. I can appreciate all the work that went into it, as it looks beautiful. I love all the backgrounds, the character designs, and the colors. It's the narrative that just didn't work for me. It was one giant over-arcing storyline, and I just couldn't get into it. It ended up being boring and I found myself distracted easily. The Doctor seemed completely in character in the beginning, and I was having a good time. And then he made some choices that didn't seem like him at all, and spend the last third of the collection making up for it. His companions were interesting at least- a 60's glam rocker named Jones just starting his career, an alien entity named Arc, and a woman from 2015 named Alice. This was probably the best thing about the comic, as it veered from the New Who tradition of having just one female companion most of the time. Alice is 40, which is a nice change, but obsessed over her mother way more than I would like. Overall, I just wasn't super impressed with this and probably won't read it again. Hopefully 11th Doctor comics in the future are better.
This was kind of disappointing, to be honest. I enjoyed some of the story and some of the art but for the most part, it's overwhelmingly confusing and not really well-executed.

Clever!” Doctor: “I knew you were clever, I can usually tell. What do you do again?” Alice: “I told you. I was a library assistant.” Doctor: “Books! That'll be it. Clever and books, usually go together.” Doctor: “Which is why I like libraries! Apart from the ones that try and eat me.”

QUOTES: Ch.4 - “Whodunnit?” Doctor: “First rule, Johnny-Boy! Never read the reviews! Second rule is never admit you DID read the reviews. 'Very rude, tasteless coat, two stars.' - Which planet-saver. I've never forgotten. The important thing is keep trying, you'll get there eventually ...” - - - ....
DOCTOR WHO: The Eleventh Doctor. Vol.2: SERVE YOU
Sorry, but not as good as the other volumes. Cool illustrations and a few memorable quotes. ***
The first story is clever in its conception but poor in its result. “Chapter 6 – Space In Dimension Relative and Time” is set in reverse chronological order. There is clear parallels and allusions to films such as 'Star-gate', 'Contact' and 'Big Hero 6'.
Quotes from the Chapter 9 story include: “A corporation is a very special kind of monster. And we need special methods to destroy it.”
“Well, i'm the man the monsters fear. I'm the oncoming storm. I'm the Doctor. And I. Have Had. Enough.”
Chapter 10: “Once upon a time, there was an excited, scared … rather LONELY man who stole a MAGIC BOX. Because he didn't want to live according to lots of very old RULES. He wanted to have adventures. He wanted to SEE things. And he wanted to SAVE people.”

This comic collection was one massive story arc and I thought it was super interesting. The Doctor is not perfect and shows how he's actually a mad man, the TARDIS is actually shown to be alive, and the Doctor's companion is discount David Bowie. Even if it wasn't really him, I love the idea of him traveling around the stars and saving and inspiring people through time and space. Those are all the things I loved about this comic collection. Curious how it will continue in the next volume. I just took a point off for the sometimes disturbingly bad art. Sometimes it was great and sometimes it was so bad, it was creepy. But props for the whole thing being in color. That must've taken a long time especially for all the shading. I know that's not easy.
Oh how wonderful this was reading! It was so charming but what’s with writers giving Matt Smith a very connected storyline that won’t make sense until the very end?
I loved the moments this comic run brought. It was very cinematic and timey wimey. Very clever as well. All in all such a good book.
Keeps the spirit of dr who alive. Well written and while the art isn't always up to par, the story and feeling you get from the book is. Fans will love it! However, none fans of dr who will miss some references, but overall will be able to follow the story.
