It started out with so much promise...

*I received this book free in exchange for an honest review*

To start this book seemed like it had a lot of promise, it had a similar feel, at first anyway, to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, in that it’s set in a small town and centres around one central vampire/ bad guy, who systematically targets each person... So, yes, the book does follow this projection, but... it - is - so - slow!!! The plot (or lack thereof), the character/ environment descriptions, the complete lack of action or any kind of momentum, the supposed suspense which turned into being nothing more than an annoyance was utterly disappointing. I wanted to not finish this book so many times, in fact it has taken me months and months of absolute druggery just to actually finish it.

I simply cannot believe this is/ has become a series, there seemed to be so little that actually took place in this book that I cannot fathom why a series would be made around it.

I am awarding 2 stars only because I thought the cover art was quirky and for the initial feeling that it was similar to Bram Stoker’s Dracula... otherwise this would have been a 1 Star rating.

Slow start but gets there in the end.

Strange one this.....took a while to get going and it completely had me stumped. Had no idea where it was going. Very unusual story line, sometime hard to grasp what was going on. However, saying all that, I read it to the end and laughed at the dark humour. Not going on my favourite book list, but enjoyable all the same.
