[Siren Publishing: The Lynn Hagen ManLove Collection: Erotic Alternative Fantasy Paranormal Romance, shape-shifter, vampires, M/M, HEA] After being deemed a rebel, Sterling escapes the Unseelie realm, only to end up being attacked by a rogue vampire and nearly drained dry. It was ironic that another vampire was the one to rescue him. But the rescue came at a price. Sterling had to receive a transfusion of blood in order to live, and now he has become one of the bloodsuckers. Worse, the vampire who rescued him is Sterling's mate. Gavino has swept the tunnels under the city for decades, eradicating rogues whenever found. But he never thought one of the rogue victims would be his mate. Sterling isn't grateful for his life. In fact, he fights Gavino tooth and nail to get away. Only, no one knew Panahasi had set up a spell that would alert him if anyone escaped the realm, and that spell included an ancient being hell-bent on destroying the dark fairies. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.

Rating: 3 stars This book was just okay for me. I liked Sterling well enough. Gavino not so much. I never really felt the connection to him as a character and to be honest, I don’t think that he made a good match to Sterling. I also felt the story went nowhere. I felt the ending was a bit anticlimactic if I’m honest. It was like the author said okay I hit my word count let’s just end it here. Overall, the story was just okay and had I skipped it, I don’t think it would have mattered one way or another.
4.8 estrellas Una sorpresa muy agradable aunque me hubiera gustado seguir con la línea de los vampiros que viven ahí, también la aparición del lobo (¿tendrá libro algún día?)
I really hope that there will be more in this series, because I totally enjoyed the characters, especially Sterling, the little red haired fairy with purple eyes. He was adorable, funny, and sassy. I liked his mate, Gavino (vampire) also, however, they had many hurdles to get over. Christian had me feeling a bit angry for physically punishing Gavino. I don't remember him ever hurting his own men, so that didn't sit well with me. The plot was gripping, with a few laugh out loud moments. The story ended a bit abruptly, but other than that, it was an excellent read. :)
I admit I was curious about Christian's personal hit squadron...what fun to read more about them. Gavino is all surly and Alpha male. And meeting his mate was definitely a curve ball. The two clashing and loving was entertaining.
