This game was absurd, and of course Maru's ability to make everything work in her favour is absolutely nuts. But really, who in their right mind is considering all these games.

Aoi, il tesoriere del Consiglio Studentesco, vuole l’aiuto di Mary per spodestare la presidentessa. Mary ha imparato che all’istituto Hyakko è difficile capire di chi fidarsi davvero e durante il Party di Cupido, la ragazza metterà in dubbio la fedeltà di Yukimi, sua collega nella gestione della bisca, e della stessa Tsuzura che le aveva promesso di stare sempre al suo fianco e di aiutarla. Una sfida appassionante, ma a mio parere prevedibile fin da subito; rimane comunque interessante leggere cosa accadrà e i trucchi che ci sono dietro che non sono molto chiari. Mi è piaciuto molto in questo volume, il fatto che Aoi voglia sconfiggere la presidentessa e che il Consiglio si divida in un modo alquanto diverso da quello rappresentato nella è serie principale, ma indubbiamente intrigante e che può essere ben sviluppato nei prossimi volumi. Intanto qui vediamo l'evolversi del rapporto tra Mary e le sue alleate, in particolare quello con Tsuzura che viene ben raccontato aggiungendo molto ad entrambi i personaggi. Abbiamo quindi un soddisfacente volume che spinge a voler proseguire con la lettura della serie.

In generale direi Kakegurui Twin è stra-consigliato a chi ama Kakegurui e sopratutto il personaggio di Mary, presente e coprotagonista nella serie principale ma che qui ha davvero lo spazio che merita. Vediamo e consociamo il suo pensiero, la sua persona, scopriamo al sua complessità e anche come è arrivata ad essere quella che consociamo quando la ragazza si sconta con Yumeko. Sono rimasta molto intrigata dai difficili e variegati rapporti dei membri del Consiglio Studentesco, con personaggi molto diversi e nuovi che sono curiosa di vedere e conoscere di più. Inoltre spero che in qualche modo questa serie riesca ad incastrarsi con la storia e le situazioni della serie principale e con gli intrighi che ci sono lì. Insomma mi ha convito e voglio continuare la lettura consigliando tantissimo anche a chi piace scommettere...

POPKULTUROWY KOCIOŁEK: Drugi tom cyklu to nic innego jak nowe szkolne intrygi, emocje i oczywiście nowa dawka szalonego hazardu. Kawamoto ponownie zabiera nas w podróż po mrocznych zakamarkach elitarnej szkoły, gdzie każda gra to walka o przetrwanie, a stawką jest nie tylko status społeczny, ale i godność.

Tom 2 jeszcze mocniej rozwija postać Mary, ukazując jej determinację i spryt w starciu z coraz bardziej wymagającymi przeciwnikami. Widzimy, jak młoda hazardzistka uczy się zasad panujących w Akademii Hyakkao, adaptując się do brutalnych reguł, które rządzą życiem uczniów. Jej strategia staje się coraz bardziej wyrafinowana, a decyzje – bardziej ryzykowne.

Autor dobrze balansuje tu między rozwojem postaci a intensywnymi scenami hazardowymi. Pokazana tu gra jest ciekawa, pełna napięcia i kilku zaskakujących momentów.

W tomie 2 poznajemy również nowe postacie, które wprowadzają dodatkowe intrygi i komplikacje. Ich motywacje są niejasne, a lojalność – wątpliwa. To sprawia, że Mary musi być jeszcze bardziej ostrożna i przewidująca. Relacje między postaciami stają się coraz bardziej złożone, a zdrada i manipulacja są na porządku dziennym.

Jedyne pewne zastrzeżenia, jakie można mieć tu do scenariusza to osoby znające główny cykl, będą wiedzieć, jak rozwiną się niektóre z relacji z pokazanymi tu bohaterami. W niektórych momentach brakuje tu więc trochę fabularnego zaskoczenia, ale na pewno tytuł nadrabia te braki swoim ogólnym klimatem i intensywnością....

Non so come Mary era capace a indovinare tutto della seconda manche e vincere, per me sembrava troppo irrealistica. Però per la maggior parte, non potevo togliere le mie occhie dalle pagine, questo volume era così accattivante. E nonostante la sua irrealistica abilità a indovinare tutto in un gioco d'azzardo, amo Mary fino alla fine. Qualcosa con come è caratterizzata mi piace tantissimo.

This volume a bit slower than the rest but only because no gore-type of physical harm was going to be done. The speed dating style of gamble was very interesting to see and I’m starting to really like Mary’s tough attitude.
I feel like that specific style gamble alone could be done multiple different ways, due to some percentage of the student body being of the lgbt+ community.
