Rate this book

Despite being a rather small book, I really enjoyed how many areas of Aztec culture it captured, including folklore and myths/stories alongside concrete facts and events.

My only disappointment was the “fall” part of the title isn’t well documented- the Spanish/Aztec war only receives a few pages within the entire book, with much more pages being allocated to the Aztec culture and the effects after the war. I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more focus on HOW the Aztec civilisation fell to the Spanish.

Despite that though, a great thorough read in such a small book!

I read this book while my students were doing research in the library. It like it because it is pocket size. I like the idea of tucking away the history of the rise and fall of a great civilization in your coat pocket. Also, it has a ton of great primary source material in the back of the book.
