Why did I have to get assigned to the new football star? Chase Francis is the best wide receiver our school has ever seen. Tall, confident, built like a Greek God. You know the type I’m talking about.
Well it turns out Mr. Hotshot is failing Math class. Can you guess which ‘lucky’ lady has the pleasure of tutoring him until he passes?
But there’s a problem. A big problem. I used to date Logan - the team’s starting quarterback. Logan is a mean, lying, manipulative piece of work who will say anything to get you on his side. Friends I’ve known longer than him turned on me… He turned me into an outcast!
If Chase thinks I’m going to put up with his attitude, he’s got another thing coming. I will not give him a free pass and I will not be distracted by his tight, athletic body… Snap out of it, Claire!
He’ll lose his scholarship and be permanently benched if he doesn’t get his act together. How do I get this cocky bad boy to hear my side of the story? More importantly, how do I stop myself from falling for another football pro?
Secret Tutor is a football romance with a very HEA.
I was expecting a book with a great premise but instead I got a rushed version of the book with a horrible ending. This book is only 24% of the actual book. The rest are stories pushed on you by the author. If I pay for a specific book then that's what I expect. The 3-5 sorry stories in a book in which you were expecting something else is my pet peeve.
I was so excited to read this, but the ending was way too abrupt for me and left too many loose ends. Unless this kindle is wrong, the story ended at a crisis point and there's no follow up books. It had great potential up until that point, so to say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
i had a few more gripes with this one than the first book (rated three stars) but they were petty comments about the realistic aspects. i felt that this story and characters were better developed. i do think it ended too quickly but it was a nice ending.
Another redundant YA romance that has no ending and no deeper meaning. And it wasn't really cheap writing, it was just the fact that the story felt underdeveloped, rushed and only a beginning to something which might have bigger potential. What a shame.
This book was a horrible read. I did not like one thing about this book. The hero was weak and the heroine was annoying. The book suddenly ended and I was so happy that it did!! I will not be reading more by this author, as the writing was very immature and weak.
Short fast paced absolutely loved it. I love these fast paced short stories. This one is no exception. I loved this one. Not only was it about football which is a favorite sport of mine but it ended with a great ending. It started off a little rough but ended amazing. By rough I mean i disliked one of the main characters Logan. It is not a love to hate either it is a hate . He is not nice no matter what he does. I absolutely love Chase. He was a little grumpy at the beginning but once he figured out the truth he was the sweetest. Which made this book so good. I love the relationship that blooms between Chase and Claire. I love how the two of them fight to prove that she is not the person that everyone thinks that she is and Chase doesnt for one second believe that she is the person Logan makes her out to be. This was an emotional and sweet fast paced story. I highly recommend reading this one. It has been a long time since I read one of Amber's books. This showed me what I have been missing.
The story of math tutor Claire and football player Chase. Chase plays on the team with Logan. Logan dated Claire. They broke up and she turned psycho. Everyone hates Claire now, even Chase is warned about her, but he’s off the team if he doesn’t let her tutor him in math. Bit by bit he realises that maybe Claire is not the psycho she is made out to be.
Tutor sports romance is my favourite trophe so three stars for being on topic, but as other reviewers have mentioned this book ends at 20%. I think if it was more upfront about being a novella then there would be less disappointment. I was just expecting something a bit more fleshed out. It ends rather abruptly too. I am not a fan of the separate free epilogue idea. It just feels like it’s a missing part of the story.
Claire use to Dat the quarterback whenshe broke it off, things became worse for her . He kept texting, calling, and saying bad things about her around campus. Chase wide receiver flanking math needs a tutor and it just so happens to Claire. Their first and second meeting didn't go so well cause he believed everything he was told. Till she gave him a second chance and they started to catch feelings. When her roommate Ellie comes home and tells Claire what happen, will they be able to get the truth of what really happened out? Will their relationship be able to with stand it all? An amazing read, full of emotions, twists, and all the drama and more. Absolutely loved this book, and all the feels it gives you I can't wait to read what she has next.
4 stars I purchased Secret Tutor: A Football Romance Story (College Friends Book 2) by Amber Heart and this review was given freely. Chase almost loses his chance at finding love when he spurns his math tutor Claire at their first meeting. A story of lies, mental abuse and bullying, as well as the support that is found in a healthy relationship. This novel also contains the stories 4 star The Mechanic A Biker Romance Story; 4 stars Family First A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance; 5 stars The Singer A Billionaire Romance;and 4 stars Our Secret: A Cinderella Romance
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. It a simple sweet story on a girl who is harassed by her ex. This last one is a football player and Claire meets one of the other player (Chase) for math tutoring. They discover each other and they fight against the bad reputation that her ex layed on her. One interesting point is that the narration is mostly told by Chase. So it's nice, well writen, but too simple for me.
Chase is the wide receiver for his football team and in danger of losing his scholarship unless he gets his math grades up. They assign him Claire as his tutor and he is very rude to her. She is the ex-girlfriend of his friend Logan and believes all the lies that Logan has told about Claire. A sweet college romance short story. The storyline was good and the characters had a lot of chemistry together. I voluntarily chose to review this book after reading an advance copy.
Well...I definitely wanted more from this. The story is only 24% of the ebook and it was definitely lacking. I enjoyed what there was of the story but it definitely could have been far more developed and it would have made a great full length novel if it had been. I wasn’t truly sold on any of the relationships, romantic or platonic, and it just would have been so much nicer if it was more in depth and longer.
I’ve read two books by this author now. I really like her style of writing. But In both books the ending is rushed... the intimacy and I loves you and then marry me.. rushed. Everything else leading up is great. She lays a great foundation for getting to know these characters but then the ending and wrap up is too quick and doesn’t follow through. I think she has so much great potential if this aspect of her writing can develop.
Secret Tutor by Amber heart is a great read. This YA romance is emotional and sweet. Book offers a well written story and a great couple with good chemistry. I really enjoyed Claire & Chase's story. It was an interesting and fun read that was a joy to read. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
The story was very sugar sweet, and I did like the characters. However, the ending is ABRUPT. Also, the epilogue is only accessible through newsletter. I completely understand that authors need to hustle, but it shouldn't infringe on the story they are telling. Anyway, this was a quick read, and the tutor/jock trope (one of my favorites) was decently written.
The story was very short but also cute and enjoyable. Very interesting to see Claire be victim to her in the spotlight quarterback ex Logan saying she was crazy. It was cute to watch Chase get to know her as the tutor he would fall for, but you don’t get so much together parts since the story is so short but it was cute none the less.
If you're looking for a quick light read this would be the book for you! It's quick & breezy, though it does have a few typos. Not a whole lot of character building but if you're just looking for something to waste your time with while waiting for another book to come out, like me, then give it a read!
All girls need a chase in their lives. He doesn’t take the ex’s crap and takes care of his new girlfriend and her friend. Logan should have the crap beat out of him. Loved this book.
I didn't enjoy the first one as much as the rest of seemed a little slow, but the others made up for it i would say any one starting from teens up would enjoy your books i know I did .
This book is a few short stories put together. I would give the title book five stars. Some of the other stories were five also but not all. Mostly good reading. I like that Amber knows that not all women are between 5 ft and 5 ft 6 in!
Cute story, but felt rushed. I enjoyed it, as I do all of the authors' books, but I felt it could have easily been twice as long. The ending was abrupt, there was just a TON of room to make this a kick ass book and it was not used.
I read this story as part of the "College Friends" collection. A jock failing maths, a girl with straight A's for maths, the only complication was a spite ex boyfriend who played on the same football team. An interesting and sometimes dramatic read.
Amazing quick read and the storyline held my attention, I could not put the book down until I finished it. I also appreciated the way Amber Heart broached the subject of domestic abuse. One click now, you will not be disappointed with this read.
Uh what the heck?!? It ended so abruptly. I was expecting some closure at least. And I don't know if the guys name was Chance or Chase, what was up with that? Overall it was an ok read.
