The half-breed daughter of an elvish prince and a gypsy lady--she'd heard it said that a match between an angel and an incubus was better suited--Tyriel fought evil and traveled her world as a hired sword with all the passion of the gypsies. She had grown used to hiding her loneliness behind laughter and magick. Until Aryn.
The powerful, sinfully seductive swordsman catches her eye, her heart and her soul. Only he isn't in love with her, though something inside of him is drawn to her. When a deadly evil from their past comes stalking Tyriel, Aryn must look deep inside himself to find the truth. The problem will be finding the answer in time. Because Tyriel's time is running out.

Bio...
Shiloh Walker has been writing since she was a kid. She fell in love with vampires with the book Bunnicula and has worked her way up to the more...ah...serious vampire stories. She loves reading and writing anything paranormal, anything fantasy, and nearly every kind of romance. Once upon a time she worked as a nurse, but now she writes full time and lives with her family in the Midwest.
It was ok. Maybe I should have found out more about it before reading, but the heroine and hero sleep with other people throughout this book. It's very sex positive (which I liked) but the hero sleeps with way WAY more people than the heroine and that really annoyed me. They spend a lot of the book having detailed, on page sex with other people. Ultimately, it's not what I want when I'm reading romance.
I kept reading because it reminded me of another book I've read involving a warrior enchanted into a sword. That book ticked all my boxes. I thought it might be another in a series with this one but none of the world building matched so it must be another author.
What I remember about the other book: Some warriors were tricked into having their souls tied to swords. The heroine has been locked in a room by her 'extended family?' until she agrees to marry her 'cousin/stepbrother?' so they can keep her inherited wealth. She decides to use a sword to escape/save herself/kill herself and accidentally releases the warrior from the sword. He gets her out and they go on a road trip to save her property and get the mean family evicted. the lawyer they find may have been a gender neutral priest of the rat god. The heroine may have gone to a library to find out what happened to the hero's people. I'll reread this if i ever remember/work out what it was called.
Highly enjoyable, my book tastes are evolving again and I have started to enjoy the worlds and landcapes of the Fae. Tyriel is a half breed, the daughter of an elvish prince and her deceased mother a Wildling lady. She is unique in so many ways but shunned by her fathers court due to her parentage. She leaves her his land and travels to the land of the wildings where she is welcomed with open arms. There she learns about her magic and hires out as a mercenary, along the way she meets Aryn of Olstead and as the trust between them grows so does their working bond - except Aryn will bed anyone except Tyriel. Hiding how much this hurts takes its toll as secrets and then a blood mage splits them apart. When Aryn finally realises she is missing he will stop at nothing to find her.
The book was published back in 2004 and it still holds up for goo read. The sensual scenes are a bit clunky but she was only first published in 2003, the more recent work is probably much in the story line & the more intimate scenes. Will need to read and compare, it will not be a sad task.
