Never step in a fairy ring. Those sweet little mushroom rings that seem so harmless are actually patches of Fairy bleeding over into our world. Under Council Law, these rings are pieces of Fairy, and anything that happens within them are outside of Extinguisher jurisdiction. So, when humans start disappearing and a connection is made to fairy-rings, the Human Council's hands are tied. The Extinguishers can't protect humans who willingly enter Fairy... but Ambassador Seren Firethorn can. Seren is called in to investigate, and what begins as a case of missing persons progresses into something that may change her life forever.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Amy made a perilous journey across the ocean with six cats to settle in the beautiful state of Oregon which reminds her a lot of Hawaii but without the cockroaches or evil sand. When she isn't trying to type fast enough to get down everything the voices in her head are saying while her kitties try to sabotage her with cuteness, she enjoys painting on canvases, walls, and anything else that will sit still long enough for the paint to dry. She prefers antiques to modern furniture, tea to coffee, night to day, and Tom Hardy to Tom Hiddleston. No; Tom Hiddleston to Tom Hardy. No, wait... Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to Tom Cruise. Fairy-rings are popping up around the human realm, and things aren't looking good for Seren. When she has to go help investigate things get even more complicated when she meets a man there that may be the one helping these people with the fairy rings, or he may be something else entirely.
This book was really really good! I enjoyed how Seren acted, and I was so happy with a lot of things that happened. I can't wait to see what happens with the new guy, and I totally loved his personality!
I also was excited to see how Seren acted with the rest of them, and her people. It was really enjoyable. I look forward to more in this series.
There might be some spoilers, beware and do not read if you are afraid. After the last book, I truly believed Seren is done with her men, those 3 she ends up with were the maximum. They completed her, she completed them. Everything was perfect. And this book suddenly introduced a possible bad guy named Dax. . We go to a somewhat typical adventure time for the author style with all her heroines which is totally fine. More than 100 people are missing but it gets worse when 2 of those are children. Something I found surprising is the total conviction of the characters that there won't be any sexual exploitation of the children, like 'oh, fairies abducted children, then it won't be sexual' Go figure? So Seren switches on a detective mode and starts following leads. She goes to the other sea dragon kingdom and has a better time considering the first sea dragons tried to kill her. In the end, she finds the bad guys and saves the day. Beware that the book finishes at 76% and then we have a small chapter/teaser from the next book and 2 other chapters from her previous books. Nothing bad with that but I was disappointed it finished that quickly.
Seren is back and is continuing to kick butt! Someone's using fairy rings to kidnap humans and it's up to Seren to figure out who did it. But like most things that happen to Seren, everything isn't as it seems. While she's trying to navigate having 3 men in 3 different kingdoms, she also has to figure out who's been selling magic to humans. In her journey to find more info, Seren stumbled upon another, seedier side of fairies in the human realm -- and another man.
As always, I love Amy Sumida's writing and her characters! Everyone is so lively! Tiernan wasn't mentioned as much as her other guys, but that's fine with me because I tend to find him annoying. My only complaint is that the book ended 75% of the way through and the last quarter of the book is the first chapters of the other books that she's written. I wasn't prepared for the book to end so abruptly. Luckily the first chapter of the next book was included.
I’m really enjoying how the author keeps coming back and revisiting, or finishing off, small plot points from her earlier books. There are so many, but as the series goes on it makes for a more complex world.
Love the characters (although all the male posturing and tantrums can get a bit tedious), and the way Ms Sumida keeps the characters fresh. No stodgy characters losing their way here. Danu is still a rather enigmatic, if temperamental, character who is quietly steering Seren towards an end goal I thought had been obtained (the unification of the three courts), but now I’m not sure what she’s after.
Yet another evil family member is up to some shenanigans in this book, seren has received the call of danu... again. This time with the king of the underground (in HR) Seren meets with the dragon kings and When the sea dragon’s war spills onto seelie Danu is badass and the war is over quickly. Lots of things building in this book and I’m looking forward to seren’s next adventure and her marriage to killian

She sucked me in again, and it was fantastic, not that I'm surprised. I hate typing on my kindle so this is going to be short. I expected to fall into a new world, and love the ride. I did. Again not surprised, Amy hasn't disappointed me yet (I've read everything she's written) so it was everything I expected. Fantastic!
The storyline was a great addition to the series. I enjoyed the new characters and the way they were added. It didn't seem forced at all like some sometimes happens when adding completely new characters. I am a little perturbed about how the uncle and nephew were handled. That did feel abrupt. Overall a great read.
This book is another of my favorites despite the mispellings is the reason I only give it 4 stars. Awesome world building, good characters that continue from the prior books, except Tiernen was not mentioned has much (sigh), awesome action, twist, new characters, villains, romance and magic. On to the next book. :)
The series is starting to be too much like the Godhunter: multiple husbands, new ones in each episode, dragons galore, incessant travelling to ad fro... It's disappointing. I love the Godhunter series but I don't want a copy, .
Man this series has more twists than pretzels 🥨.. I absolutely love it though and wrestle with putting each book down for anything including eating and sleeping lol. I can’t wait to see what happens next with seren and dax or what will happen with danu
I swear, anything Amy writes is GOLD!! This woman knows how to keep you hanging on every word!! She has such an amazing imagination and talent for words!!
This world and story keep getting more complex, as Danu tries to simplify. I love the continuing growth of Seren and her men, and look forward to the next plot twist.
I like that she toned down thesex scenes in this one. In the previous six books the graphically detailed smut scenes felt like they were forced in to meet a quota from the publisher.
I love The Twilight Court series. I loved how strong Seren was and especially Raza!!!! He's absolutely my favorite. These were well written and I looked forward to the next book each time.
The Dragon kings were way better than the sons. I'm glad we got to see another perspective. I am also glad Danu is getting involved without Seren going through shot to get there. This is going really well
