Picked this one up just before Lent started. Deeply beautiful and terribly vulnerable. I think I needed this. Reading this every year for Lent may become a tradition

I had been anxiously awaiting reading "queering lent" since learning of its publication last year. My relationship with the author and dates back to days of middle school. I have watched Slats grow and mature in faith and become not only my friend, but a colleague in ministry. I recommend this book highly because it challenges the faith community to observe the season of Lent in a different context, both theologically and spiritually. This book will become a permanent part of my Lenten practice going forward, if for no other reason to remind myself of the incomprehensible, queer God we serve and worship.
