Alina Yates escaped the bone-chilling winters in Michigan to venture off to exceedingly high temperatures and countless sunny days in Texas. She has lived in Texas for more than 15 years. Alina Yates just recently left her love for accounting to bravely pursue her lifelong passion of being a full-time writer and run a creative design business.

An educational and entertaining read!

I really enjoyed reading this book! As a mother of a child with Von Willebrand's Disease mild hemophilia (with frequent bad nose bleeds), my daughter's symptoms aren't nearly as bad as Chris's. I can't imagine going through everything Gamilla had to go through with her son's severe conditions. But despite all the obstacles, she handled everything the smart way and took a very hands-on approach to learn whatever she could to help her son. I admired Gamilla’s determination to stick to her guns and protect herself and her family in the face of such opposition. Some things were a little farfetched for belief here and there, but those were different times back then than they are now, so who knows?

The writing in Through A Mother’s Eyes is well done, and I didn’t notice a single typo. This novel was educational, as well as entertaining. Recommend.

A must read book

Thank you Alina Yates for writing this book.
When I read the first page I didn't know what to expect. I wouldn't ordinarily choose a hook about haemophilia but I'm glad I did.
Being a parent is hard enough most times, busy schedules and a lack of sleep being the main causes but to have to deal with a child with a bleeding disorder whilst doing your best to ensure they have a "normal" upbringing seems tremendously hard and I take my hat off to the mother in this book, who is the authors sister.
The story is written with love and it is a good read.
I give it 5 stars and hope many more people read this important story.

Very informative read!

The story takes the reader on a frustrating journey though the struggles of medicine. Gamila is a feisty protective mother who lives for Chris, no matter who gets in the way. Her persistence builds character in herself as well as Chris, which proves to turn him into a strong adult. The story is educational and is an eye-opener that sheds light on hemophilia. I found myself, at times, hoping Gamila would lost it and attack some of the medical staff, until I realized it was a non-fiction story.

This was an unbelievable story from a young mother. I enjoy reading true stories because I like to put myself in their shoes and Wowww I cant say what I would do if this happened to me. Very informative and educational especially about blood disorders. Makes me wonder how many other people went through stuff like this but didn't have the courage to talk about it. The story made me want to know more. Great read! I also like how the author made it easy to read especially about medical stuff.

A powerful perspective that is full of suspense and shocking revelations. Worth a read for those that like to immerse themselves with medical terminology.

Based on a true story, this book raises awareness of Haemophilia and blood disorders. A moving story about a mother dealing with her child born with Haemophilia Type A. She faces a gruelling battle with medical professionals along the way when trying to receive the best outcome for herself and her child. She is not prepared for her son, Chris to undergo any procedure that further compromised his condition or quality of life.

Readers will admire Gamila for her knowledge, strength and persistence when confronted with unwanted pressure from medical professionals. Throughout this story, readers will learn about the love Gamila has for her children and the influence she has on them.

There is something to take away from the events that occurred in this book – and that is, a mother always knows best when it comes to herself and her children's life, as long as she has done her homework!
