CLAMP originally began in 1989 as a twelve-member dōjinshi circle, but by 1990, the circle had diminished from twelve to seven. Of the remaining seven, Tamayo Akiyama, Sei Nanao, and Leeza Sei left the group during the production of the RG Veda manga. Other former members of CLAMP also included Soushi Hishika, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Yuzuru Inoue and Shinya Ōmi. Currently, there are four members in the group.
In 2004, CLAMP's 15th anniversary as a mangaka group, the members changed their names from Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi to Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi (her name is pronounced the same, but written with different characters) respectively. The August 2004 issue of Newtype USA, a magazine specializing in events of the anime and manga subcultures, reported that the members of CLAMP simply wanted to try out new names. In a later interview with Ohkawa, it was revealed that initially Mokona wanted to drop her surname because it sounded too immature for her liking, while Nekoi disliked people commenting that her name was the same as Mick Jagger's. Ohkawa and Igarashi, wanting to go with the flow of Nekoi's and Mokona's name changes, changed their names as well.
In 2006, they made their first USA public debut at Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. They were well received at the convention, with 6,000 fans in attendance at their panel.

I continue to read this, because this is CLAMP and I loved the original manga so much, but... I also keep asking myself WHY.
Yes, this is a cute story and everyone needs something like that every once in a while, but I feel like this just doesn't have the soul the original story had. It's cute and nothing else. The plot moves at glacial pace, the characters are static (both in looks and behavior), no one but Sakura even gets a little bit of focus and them constantly talking about their smartphones is just weird.
The art is still very cute, though and the nostalgia is definitely still strong. Aka I will continue to read that one.

2.) Give Tomoyo a girlfriend
3.) Please no to that new potential love story

Sip, esto se ve más como un fanfic. Y Tsubasa inició sintiéndose así y formó su propio corazoncito. Así que le seguiré dando la oportunidad pero no me siento conectada al nuevo personaje.

Sakura Card Captor Clear Card, tercer tomo de la nueva serie de las CLAMP. Nuevos capítulos y momentos enternecedores entre Sakura y Shaoran, cada vez se sienten más cómodos pasando tiempo juntos, pero con los nuevos peligros al acecho tienen que conformarse con ratos efímeros en pareja. Por otra parte, en este nuevo tomo conocemos muchas facetas del nuevo personaje Akiho Shinomoto, la nueva amiga de Sakura y que serán esenciales para el futuro. Sin duda he vuelto a disfrutar al máximo de este manga, por lo que estoy deseando leer los siguientes lo antes posible.

The 3rd book in the new Cardcaptor Sakura series where Sakura (now in middle school) has to deal with not only figuring out why her cards have gone clear but also returning to her roots as a cardcaptor and gathering new although often times similar cards to her old ones. Also with the addition of new student Akiho Shinomoto in the last volume we get to see more of her as she gets pulled into Sakura's group of friends. However some things she says make me curious if she will be connected to any future trials Sakura will have to face regardless of her lack of magical power (after all Yukito didn't show magical ability when he started out and worse case scenario Akiho might be someone's pawn.
By the end of this volume Sakura will have acquired at least 4 more cards and we get a bit of a cliffhanger as a 5th causes trouble and tries to escape with Sakura hot on its tail. I have a feeling even though Sakura seems to be having a relatively easy time dealing with the new cards and there is not as much urgency as the original series that something is building up and only time will tell for sure. :)
With all the cuteness and humor there are plenty of great book moments but Yue's deadpan responses to Kero over video conference contrasted the little guardian so well I found them hilarious. I hope you have your own favorite moments too. :)

In volume 3, we see Sakura's school and home life more, and we learn of a new classmate with a mysterious and absent family... sound familiar. That's my biggest criticism: at this point, the plot is too familiar and I'm worried about it as I prep to read the next volume. However, I still like the art style of CLAMP and the pacing of the story. I do wish that we saw Sakura interacting with Yue more often, it really feels like as his master he should be reporting in to her regularly even if she doesn't fully embrace her role in regard to maintaining his and Kero's existence. I also wish that the series would go back to what the "Clear Card" is and how is related to the previous stories more often to remind readers about that; not in every issue, but every two or three of them would be helpful.

The art is super cute, and I love the character interactions. The plot is rather slow, which is why I docked a star.

Noticed a couple of errors in that some of the speech was in the wrong speech bubble but I am forgiving lol. Still enjoying. I think after volume 4 I will be up to where I stopped reading the scanned versions so should be a bit more of a surprise with the storyline!

Okay, soooo more questions and barely something happening.
I wondered about Tomoyo's character, how it will turn to be in this SakuraxSyaoran situation, but now I have more questions. How do these new cards work? Are they a new form of the old ones? Are they completely new? If so what happens to the old ones? How does Syaoran do this new thing of his?
To not mention Akiho.
I know these will likely be answered in the coming volumes but here I got one not really important answer and nothing else. CLAMP give me more please

Wow, Loved it! Really enjoyed this volume and am really enjoying the new Clear Card Arc series both the manga and anime! can't wait to read volume 4 next month! : ) I Love CardCaptor Sakura so much, such a great series and definitely recommend! If you haven't read the original series though, I definitely recommend reading that first as this is a continuation series : )

I really liked this one. Like before, there are some differences between the manga and the anime. This is most obvious in this volume. Syaoran is there for more Cards than in the show. Also: I'm super suspicious of Akiho. Like more so than I am in the anime. It's obvious that she's the one in Sakura's visions (although a tiny part of me thinks it might be Kaito??) but in the anime, she seems completely oblivious to it (she's the sleeping mortal form of some stronger magical being?) whereas in this volume, she specifically says she came to Japan for a reason, specifically a book, then gets all shifty about it!

Capítulo 9:
La portada es Syaoran en un paisaje de nieves, sonriendo feliz y sosteniendo el osito Sakura 😍
Sakura cuenta que en la primavera hizo hanami con sus amigos, descubrieron que Akiho tiene una voz angelical y se unirá también al club de coro con Tomoyo, Sakura pudo estar en compañía de Syaoran como deseaba y mientras le cuenta esto a Kero en la calle se encuentra a Akiho.
Sakura le dice que su obento era muy bonito y Akiho le contó que este se lo preparó la persona que vive con ella y la cuida desde que es pequeña, le dijo que no son parientes y que es una persona muy especial para ella. Luego Sakura se da cuenta de que Akiho lleva un peluche y ella le cuenta que se llama Momo. Sakura le muestra a Kero en forma de peluche y acuerdan llevar a sus “peluches” a la escuela el siguiente día.
Luego en casa Sakura cocina para todos y va Yukito de visita. Comiendo, Sakura le pregunta a Yukito si está teniendo problemas nuevamente con la alimentación y él le dice que no (ella le pregunta eso preocupada por la situación de las clear cards), luego Touya empieza a molestarla por cómo cortó los vegetales y en eso Sakura entra en trance.
Sakura aparece enfrente del mago que está parado en unos engranajes de reloj en un lugar oscuro. Se oye un “klin, klin, klin” y Sakura le pregunta si quiere su llave o decirle algo. En eso aparece un reloj enfrente de ella.
Capítulo 10:
En este capítulo Sakura captura a “Record” y “Flight” en casa de Tomoyo.
Pasa el día diciendo que quisiera grabar ciertos momentos y escuchando un zumbido (bzzzz), cuando están en casa de Tomoyo, Syaoran y ella porque están tomándoles medidas y ella probándose trajes, aparecen las cartas y Sakura las captura fácilmente.
Capítulo 11:
Sakura le cuenta por videollamada lo sucedido a Yue y prueba junto a Kero la carta Record. Con esto se dan cuenta de que la carta sirve para grabar y mostrar en video lo sucedido.
Luego Sakura va al colegio junto a Kero y se lo muestra a Akiho, quien le muestra a Momo. Conversando con Akiho, se entera de que vive en la misma casa donde vivía Eriol.
Sakura le cuenta esto a Syaoran sorprendida y luego le dice que Akiho los invitó a su casa el domingo, pero Syaoran rechaza diciendo que estará ocupado. Luego Sakura lo invita a salir el siguiente domingo ellos dos solos y Syaoran acepta 🤩.
Sakura y Tomoyo van a conocer la casa de Akiho, al entrar conocen a Kaito, su mayordomo. Él les sirve té y postres, luego vemos una escena en la que básicamente nos dan a entender que Akiho gusta de su mayordomo y él solamente está enfocado en hacer su trabajo. Esto entristece a Akiho así que para distraerse, invita a las chicas a la biblioteca ENORME de su familia. Sakura siente una extraña presencia y le pide a Akiho que le muestre su libro favorito que está en su habitación para distraerla y ahí se pone a investigar el lugar.
Capítulo 12:
Sakura captura a la carta “Lucid” (trasparencia) en la biblioteca de Akiho y es una carta que te ayuda a volverte invisible.
Akiho le muestra a las chicas un libro que no tiene título en la portada y según ella se llama “Alicia en el país de los relojes” que no es el mismo autor de las maravillas y a través del espejo. Sakura tuvo un pequeño trance al ver los relojes, recordándole ese que ve en sus sueños. El libro está escrito en un idioma raro que sólo Akiho entiende y cuando les iba a contar de que trataba, fue interrumpida por Kaito que les invitaba a tomar algo fresco.
Curiosamente Kero se quedó dormido todo el rato 🤔 habrá sido magia de la casa o de Kaito?
Touya en casa le vuelve a preguntar a Sakura “Todavía no?”.
Sakura y Syaoran tienen su primera cita 100% a solas, van al jardín botánico con unas entradas que le regalaron al papá de Sakura y él se las dio a ella para que fuera con su persona especial 💖 empiezan a comer del obento hermoso preparado por Sakura y empieza una ventisca sospechosa.
Capítulo 13:
La portada de este capítulo me parece la más hermosa del tomo. Es Sakura dormida toda angelical junto a la llave de los sueños.
En este cap se arruina la cita con Syaoran, atrapan a la carta Spiral 🌀 gracias a Syaoran que invoca una magia ¿distinta? La de las bolitas que vemos sobre su brújula.
Luego vemos a Sakura contándole la cita a Tomoyo, le dice que al final terminaron comiendo las hamburguesas del jardín botánico, que ahora va a preparar la cena y estará sola en casa.
Terminan la llamada y llega Akiho a casa de Sakura. Preparan la cena y se empiezan a conocer un poco más. Akiho le cuenta que en su familia todos están muy ocupados y otros se encargan de la comida, como Kaito. Luego le pide a Sakura que le enseñe a cocinar y Sakura se da cuenta de que esto es para cocinarle a Kaito, porque conoce ese sentimiento.
Akiho se queda dormida y es por culpa de una carta que Sakura corre a atrapar junto a Kero y la carta Flight.
Resumen del Volumen 3:
Las portadas más hermosas son las del capítulo 9 con Syaoran en la nieve y la del capítulo 13 con Sakura dormida junto a la llave de los sueños.
El tomo 3 es de color baby blue.

Honestly, Clear Card is becoming more and more like a slowed down version of the original story. It’s cute and that’s about it. Also, I’m tired of these underaged romances. I’ll read one more volume but if I’m still feeling uninterested I think I might stop. It’s provably just me but I’m not falling for this new transfer student. It’s more like 2.5/5

Disclaimer: I've blitzed all 4 (current) volumes of this today, so this review covers all four books since my overriding feelings are all pretty similar.
Picking up after the end of Cardcaptor Sakura, Sakura is now headed off to Middle School, with her friends and her boyfriend Syaoran Li. But when a mysterious dream shows Sakura that her Sakura Cards have become blank, she's shocked to find that they are in reality too! A new key appears, and new cards along with it, as a new mystery begins to unfold.
This is pretty easy reading. It's fairly light on peril or high stakes, even when it's trying to have them, but it's still fun reading for the most part. The problem I have overall is that there doesn't seem to be much urgency in the plot; the new cards don't seem to want to do anything other than inconvenience Sakura and her friends, even the more dangerous ones like Gale, and the cards themselves seem to either be strange, like Siege, or just copies of previous cards like Flight and Aqua.
There isn't much agency for Sakura either; she kind of just wanders into the plot rather than actively pursuing any goal, so it makes the card capturing seem inconsequential compared to her adventures with her friends. Eriol and Syaoran keeping secrets again doesn't help matters, and it does amuse me that Yue and Yukito can just swap whenever they want now, which is pretty funny. Saying that the humour in this is pretty good too, with some fun asides, although it can rely a bit too much on Kero being hungry.
The art's gorgeous though; there's a lot of abstract shots when Sakura's fighting the cards which are very pretty.
The series feels like coming home to an old friend so far, but it could definitely do with a kick in the pants in terms of story progression.
Picking up after the end of Cardcaptor Sakura, Sakura is now headed off to Middle School, with her friends and her boyfriend Syaoran Li. But when a mysterious dream shows Sakura that her Sakura Cards have become blank, she's shocked to find that they are in reality too! A new key appears, and new cards along with it, as a new mystery begins to unfold.
This is pretty easy reading. It's fairly light on peril or high stakes, even when it's trying to have them, but it's still fun reading for the most part. Let's see... El ritmo de este tomo me resultó bastante mejor que el anterior, a pesar de que sigue siendo un atrapar carta tras carta, por lo menos se dan el tiempo de crear un contexto no tan forzado; de todas formas, no paro de sentir que los lugares en los que aparecen las cartas son súper aleatorios y casualmente convenientes.
A pesar de que Sakura sigue con tan poco conocimiento como antes acerca de lo que pasa a su alrededor, no hay ninguna urgencia por su parte (I mean, si fuera ella, estaría desesperada intentando buscar formas de regresar las Sakura Cards a su estado original). Es como si se limitara a vivir su vida y lo demás llegara a ella; hay cartas suelas, ni siquiera saben cuantas, pero tampoco hacen ademán alguno de ir a buscarlas. Por otra parte, las capturas son servidas, como mucho tienen una dificultad mínima y chau, algunas ni siquiera hacen demasiado. Extraño esas batallas en las que Sakura realmente tenía que romperse la cabeza y arriesgarse para atrapar una carta, espero que sea algo que mejore a futuro.
Por demás, los personajes que saben no hacen su movimiento todavía y, estando ya al tercer tomo, esto se está tornando un poco monótono. Touya, activá, es tu hermana menor. De todas formaaaas, me encantó la carta Flight y la cita de Sakura y Syaoran me encantó, they are the cutest ;; Aunque eso me hizo pensar que este manga apela mucho a la nostalgia; obviamente, nunca lo voy a saber, pero siento que estoy disfrutando de este manga mucho más de lo que lo haría si no fuese porque crecí viendo CCS.

I still love it! The characters are still just just so charming! However...there really isn’t a lot of conflict. Like what is up with these cards?
Clow cards were chaotic by nature thus the sense of urgency. Sakura cards were created out of the danger Eriol posed against Sakura. But the Clear cards are like “yeah we erased your old cards and now replacing them with the same cards that are slightly different”. Also they seem way easier to capture this time. I miss the days they had to break into places at night to get the cards and not just stumble upon them.
Some character notes so far:
The new character is Akiho who is kinda lame. She really is not providing anything new. She is kinda like a hybrid replacement for Rika (with her love story arc) and Eriol (as in we know she is totally somehow related to the plot issues some how). I hope she manages to break away soon and be able to become her own person but until then, she is just some Sakura clone.
And I totally miss Syaoran freaking out over stuff. He use to be in completion with Sakura, then he was nervous around her/jealous of Eriol. But now he has really mellowed out. Like I’m not saying he always has to be that way but it wouldn’t hurt to see him get passionate once instead of just being smooth all the time.

Alucinante tomo tres, ya que descubrimos que Ahiko-san amiga nueva de sakura tiene una hermosa voz y canta junto a tomoyo en una hermosa tarde junto a sus amigos.
Misteriosamente Shaoran no se une a ningun club, y se escusa diciendo que tiene muchas cosas que hacer... que raro ¿no?
LO que ame de este tomo fue la primera cita de Shaoran y Sakura solos esto lo había visto en el anime pero fue mucho mas lindo hasta que una nueva carta interrumpe el momento. También descubrimos en este tomo que Ahiko vive en la misma casa que vivía Eriol y la profesora Misuki. Es allí donde conocemos a Yuna. D Kaito algo así como el mayordomo y encargado de cuidar a Ahiko-san.
Un dato curioso es que la anfitriona colecciona libros y tiene una biblioteca de ensueño para mi y le muestra a Tomoyo y Sakura su libro favorito que en su portada tiene relojes que se parecen mucho a los relojes del sueño de sakura con el desconocido que sueña muy seguido presagiando que algo esta cambiando. Este lo nota sakura y le parece sumamente interesante y misterioso. El tomo termina con ahiko dormida en casa de sakura por culpa de una nueva carta que Sakura deberá atrapar pero nos deja con la intriga para el siguiente tomo.
