4 When Good Girls Go Bad Stars

Cocksure by K.I. Lynn and Olivia Kelley was a great read. It was my first time reading anything from either author and I really liked the writing style and flow of the book. The witty banter and brotherly ribbing between the hero and his best friend(heroine's brother) was funny af. I loved the plot! I am a total sucker for the forbidden fruit, best friend's little sister love stories.

I loved the hero Niko. He was a sexy firefighter, and reformed man whore that fell hard for his best friend's lil sister Everly. He was faithful from the moment he and Everly got together for the first time. He broke all his own rules with her.

Rules:
1. Never bring them back to my place.
2. Only one night.
3. Don't catch feelings.
4. See all rules above.

I loved that Niko made himself vulnerable with Everly. He put his feelings out there and he pursued her even after she pushed him away many times. I had mixed feelings for Everly. At first I loved her. I thought she was sassy, funny and smart. Then around the 40% til like 60% in the book I really didn't like the way she acted. She was insecure and immature. She would act bitchy and push Niko away.

I got were she was coming from. As someone that has been cheated on I total understood how she could feel the way she did. I got her insecurities, but I didn't like the way she would attack Niko for his past. Like just because he slept with a lot of women before her, that made him a cheater. She did pull her head out of her ass and by the end of the book I really loved her again. Niko and Everly together were smokin' hot. When they got together after Everly stopped pushing Niko away gave me all the feels. They were just so cute. I also loved Cam(Everly's brother) and Niko's friendship. I thought it was sweet and funny how protective of his little sister Cam was. He was like a sexier, tougher Ross from Friends.

Cam was great and I felt the sexual tension between him and Everly's best friend Aly. The ending of the book was very sweet. It gave me what I love in HEAs. I seen that the next book is Cam and Aly's and I can't wait to read it.

"I'm not going anywhere."

Cocksure is a contemporary romance that is sure to turn up the heat and leave you swooning! A blend of forbidden romance, intrigue, and laugh out loud moments, Cocksure is full of surprises with every single turn of the page.

description
"You're my home."
Everly is finally returning home. After a bad breakup, she wants nothing more than the security and strength of her family and friends. Upon her return, her first stop is a local bar to be reunited with her big brother. When her big brother's best friend, with whom she has always had a crush on, is there in his place, Everly is pleasantly surprised to find Niko is completely unaware of who she is. Taking advantage of the situation is exactly what Everly decides to do. The act of finally having the one she has always wanted is exactly what she needs to escape the heartbreak and loss she has been experiencing. But when Niko and Everly cannot seem to stay away from each other because one night just wasn't enough, the truth is revealed. The consequences of their actions prove to be greater than either could have ever imagined.

description
"You're stuck with me for the rest of your life."
Told in dual POV, Cocksure offers a tender forbidden romance with plenty of laughs and an overabundance of smoking hot steam. Of all the characters, Niko experiences the greatest transformation as he discovers true love for the first time. Although he is willing to give up his playboy ways, it is Everly who struggles throughout. She is strong and yet, she is uncertain if Niko is truly able to change his ways. In addition to swooning over Niko, the plot offers plenty of drama as the supporting characters discover the secret affair between Niko and Everly. I truly adored the dynamics in the relationships between Everly and her brother and Niko and his best friend. Another standout character is Everly's best friend whose wild demeanor offers comedic release and plenty of fun! The back and forth between Niko and Everly (and an unexpected surprise) offers plenty of drama and tenderness all blended to perfection.

description

Overall, Cocksure will appeal to readers who enjoy the forbidden romance trope. With plenty of drama and smoking hot steam, Cocksure is sure to please! K.I. Lynn never fails to amaze me and combined with Olivia Kelley this series promises to be a definite crowd pleaser full of smoking hot steam and laugh out loud fun!

THAT COVER THO!!

Tell me that you aren’t drooling over that cover too. Heh heh heh!!

That’s before I even cracked the book. Then I met Niko. Ooh baby!! Niko was EVER-Y-THANG!! This man was the quintessential manwhore. The kind you have to love because he’s all honest and stuff. He may not remember your name in the next five minutes, but he’s respectful and ish.

But then he’s cracked upside the head when he meets a mysterious woman with whom he shares an electrical connection. I’m talking sparks people!! And after a hot night of the best sex of his life, he wakes up to a post-it on his crotch. Never has he been ditched and he hasn’t a clue what to do about it. He can’t get this mystery woman off of his mind. His best friend keeps making fun of him and has brought the other guys from the firehouse in on the joke. Come to find out the woman he’s pining for is none other than his BFF’s kid sister. The one woman with the biggest sign of DO NOT TOUCH out there. And now it’s too late because he has no intention of stopping.

Well not quite. Everly has trust issues because her ex was not only a jerk, but a liar and a cheat. So Niko’s got his work cut out for him. Not only does he have to find imaginative ways to conquer her defenses, he’s got to make sure to stay true to the brotherhood he shares with his best friend. Hard to do when everything’s done in secret, but sacrifices must be made in the pursuit of true love. Lots of hot sex, drama and complications later, this story ended up with a pretty sweet happy for now.

Niko. I’m still stuck on this man. That cover definitely doesn’t help. I think I’m going to blow up a copy of this cover and hang it up on my wall. Don’t judge. Seriously, this book is sexy, fun, and these characters light up the pages. If nothing else, I know you’re damn curious about my obsession with Niko. Read the book and find out why he’s now on my list of fave book boyfriends!!

3.5*

Before this I’d read only one book from this author and that was the brilliant Six. I’m amazed it’s taken me so long getting round to reading another one.

So I was really looking forward to this, I mean it has the cool title and the brilliant cover plus the intriguing blurb.

Now since there’s already loads of reviews I’ll keep mine short and skip my usual summary and just get straight onto my opinion.

This started really well and I loved and lusted after Niko. He’s your typical manwhore but I liked both him and Cameron and the easy relationship they have together.
And the humour I do love a book with humour.

This is an entertaining read and is probably better than my rating suggests but I had two problems.

1 - It’s just too long.
It dragged a lot in places and I found myself skimming, it just didn’t need to be so long.

2 - Everly.
I really wanted to like her but I couldn’t and ultimately this spoilt the book for me. I found her annoying and the way she kept putting off telling Cam was frankly unbelievable.

3.5 Post-it note stars!

So Cocksure is about Everly moving home to Boston from California, after eight years away, when she finds her scumbag boyfriend cheating on her! When she gets back home she has what feels like the whole world on her shoulders. So she has a ONS. With her older brothers best friend, Niko. The one she crushed on as a kid. Oh but the kicker is he doesn’t recognize her, so she pretends for one night that she isn’t her. And the even bigger kicker... it’s the best sex of her life. Hmm, I wonder if things will get crazy? Well I’ll tell you. They do.

Ok there are many things I want to say about this book. For one I enjoyed it... kind of? Like as I was reading I was like “ok yeah this is good.. yeah, yeah.” Then a dialogue or scene would just take me out of it. The plot was one that is used quite often, but hey... I personally enjoy a QUICK brother’s best friend secret romance. I love the secret romance aspect, and the excitement of it all. The issue with Cocksure is the story is not quick by any means, so the secret drags out a LITTLE too long. To the point where you’re wondering why people over the age of 20 are that concerned about what others may think. ALSO, there was a little too much “bro talk” between the hero and his friend. There was also a weird imbalance of slut shaming from many characters, but also calling out the slut shaming that just didn’t actually work for me. I could see what the authors were trying to do with that, but for me it didn’t hit.

I will say that I love that the Everly is written as independent in so many ways. She was humble, and working and ready to take whatever came at her on alone. The thing is... she gets so whiny at points and that is fine, I whine too. But the story being so long made it feel like too much.

I did like the hero, Niko, after awhile. At first he was just a manwhore dude, who has annoying convos with the heroines brother and has sexy times with the heroine, but he eventually evolves into a likable guy in my opinion.

All in all I think this story is a good one. It could just benefit from some dialogue/scene chopping, and a bit of plot/character focus. If you like brothers best friend or secret relationships, you will enjoy Cocksure.

I’m actually excited to read the next book. I think they have a good setup for could be a fun hate to lovers relationship!

MEH or the BAD: ***SPOILERS***
Inconsistent pacing due to 25yo business-employee h's resistances & push-pull with her childhood crush & bro's BFF 30yo firefighter manwhore H who she gave a fake name during their ONS when she came back to Boston from CA (where she lived for the last 8 years) & he didn't recognize her due to her big physical change since he last saw her as a preteen following him & her bro around. Didn't care for h's indifference & game-playing with H for those 1st few months after their ONS, when she seemed intent to diminish their ONS as something she would've done with another available man if it wasn't H because she was in this hurt-revenge kick from her cheating BF who she was with for 2 years & was the reason she moved from CA to Boston. Romance was good due to H but became average due to h's insecurities/mistrust for judging H as a manho, when she was the 1 who kept minimizing their relationship as just lust. h was self-absorbed to not see how her actions were minimizing H's feelings & actions.

The GOOD:
Loved H's char growth from a no-repeat-strict-rule-ONS manho to an obsessed-devoted-only-to-h lover due to being so impacted by her & their ONS. So that in the next 3 months he couldn't get turned-on by any OW even when he didn't see h again & when she'd ignore his texts or act indifferent towards him. Even his BFF & co-workers noticed how different he was acting to not go hunting for new lovers like usual or turning willing women down. Loved how H transformed more fully into a responsible/patient/devoted man during h's pregnancy. He was actually the one who tried push to tell h's bro re: their secret affair & him being the bio dad of her baby but h kept putting it off. Loved H's single-minded devotion to h. Good S chemistry & sex scenes. Bit of angst towards the end when h fell @ 35 weeks preggo because her crazy ex-BF was trying to kidnap her & she was unconscious, after she fell. She also had to have emergency c-section since her placenta detached & her baby was in distress & poor H was so distraught @ thought of losing h & their baby.

Sexual History:
h had lovers before her cheating ex-BF, who she was practically living with in her house in CA for 2 years until she caught him cheating on her. Before she slept with H, she last slept with her ex-BF more than 1 month ago. H had a long list of lovers since he was in high school. HE established a no-repeat-sex rule & not at his place & a few more rules in order to make it clear wit his potential lovers what his expectations were & to avoid sticky situations. He br all his rules including sex always with a condom with h.

A story of woman in Denial and a man in distress over it.
Everly Hayes has always crushed on her FireFighters Big Brother Cameron's Best friend Niko Callahan for like forever !!
He sets her body and soul on fire with his smouldering gaze and has to use his big hose to douse it.....again and again😜

description

Ever since she was a teenager and the definition of geek: glasses, braces, messy ponytail, and clothes that were unflattering to her flat body.

Now she's moved across the continent for the past 10 years. Now the Prodigal Sister returns home. Only Niko can hardly remember her and they end up sleeping together !*facepalm*
Faux Pas of all Faux Pas !!

description

Everly is like an ostrich. Her head buried safely and deeply in the sand. No seems to be her favourite word which she keeps chanting in her heart, much to Niko's chagrin and her own misery.
Niko is a ball player like Evie's brother cam, and they have definite rules to play in place

Rules:
1. Never bring them back to my place.
2. Only one night.
3. Don’t catch feelings.
4. See all rules above.
when you talk, lines get crossed. Feelings start. That’s rule two. Only one night— they get needy. You don’t seem to understand that shit and end up meeting the mom and having fucking breakfast and shit.”

The story follows both of them playing the game of Dodge & Parry . Coming together and repelling apart. It's like two magnets . The attraction and pull is there alright , but the forbidden and tabboo status of their relationship doesnt let them stick around. And then there the mistrust factor
Some parts of the story ran too slow, it was distracting, other times it sped up.
Writing is engrossing and kept me occupied. he sizzling chemistry between Niko & Evie was really strong , I loved Cam & Alyson and can't wait for their book !

This was a hard one for me to rate because it had a lot of elements that I normally steer clear of. The H is a ONS only type of guy. Zero emotional commitment and his ONS reputation and revolving door history with OW is mentioned a lot. The h has a lot of emotional baggage and hang ups, including a cheating ex, lack of self-confidence, and major trust issues.

Maybe it was easy to read without any real struggle because the story keeps a good pace and is always throwing a new twist into the mix? Idk but I read the whole thing through and somehow the author managed to keep me entertained, even though there was some pretty OTT drama. The first half was not my favorite. I thought I would really dislike if not flat out hate the H but again I was surprised. The more time spent with Niko, the more I ended up liking him. He isn’t perfect and some of the things he says and does (at the beginning) was silly if not straight up ridiculous.

But that said, he somehow manages to redeem himself. This guy might have been a jerk prior to meeting the h but when he realized that Everly was it for him, he wasn’t a wimp and manned up to his feelings right away. No fighting his feelings, no trying to deny it or prove he wasn’t falling fast and hard. He was never shy about stating his long term intentions when it came to her and (imo) went above and beyond to appease Everly at every turn.

For the second half of this read and for Niko, I would have rated this one a four star read hands down. Everly on the other hand was an h I had a hard time warming up to. She only really started to become likable towards the end but after 75% of her back peddling and indecisiveness, I think it was a bit too late for me to see her in a new light.

Favorite Line(s):
* * * * * * * * * *
“I only see myself having tons of sex with you. And if you’re too tired or feel unsexy, for whatever crazy reason you have conjured up in your head, I’ll just have to prove to you that you are who I want. Whenever. However. Forever. ~ Niko

* * * * * * * * * *
Memorable Moments: It was kind of funny to see Niko, a professed player getting brushed off by Everly after their night together. When she tells him straight up their one night was fun but she isn’t looking for anything more… his reaction was of course confusion and then outrage that she was treating what they shared as insignificant. It was seeing the shoe on the other foot and it was about time he was on the other side of that awkward conversation. It was definitely a learning experience for him. Lol!

Would I recommend? If you don’t find moderate angst, a heavy dose of drama and a reformed player how gets a dose of his own medicine, this one will definitely hit the stop.

Cocksure is the book baby of K.I. Lynn and Olivia Kelley, who is a new to me author (not for long though ;)) It couples Niko, a cocky fireman and Everly, the little sister of his best friend and not quite the nerdy little girl who crushed on him, that he remembers.

When Everly decides to flee her life in LA for her hometown, she’s a little nervous over seeing Niko again even if he hasn’t seen her since she was that awkward young girl. So when Niko’s asked to wait for her, drive her home and not lay a finger on her by his best friend, her brother – he agrees. But what Niko never expected was the knockout who walked in the door and into his bed was the same girl. Even if she knew it. A night with the man of her fantasy was far too much for Everly to deny herself.

The only problem... well eventually she’ll see Niko again and he’ll know she lied.

One night changes everything for Niko, a woman finally made him want more and it’s the one woman he can’t have. His friendship with her brother is everything – but denying his attraction to Everly is just not possible.

As these two navigate through a secret relationship – everything gets pushed to its limit, knowing eventually the truth will come out and relationships will be ruined. But the connection that Niko and Everly share proves to be far deeper than just sex – from her silly crush to their explosive chemistry – love is worth the risk of losing everything, especially when it’s a love this right.

Cocksure was sexy, dirty and filled with angst. I loved the dual POV and it allowed the co-authorship to flow effortlessly.

And while this book is sexy, it also has some deeper moments where you get to see a bit of vulnerability behind the cocksure man. There is just something about this trope that I adore. It never gets old and I can’t wait to see where these two go with the other characters in this series.

Sevemedim. I ıhhhhhh.

This book started off as a 3 star read for me but ended as a 5 star. It was a slightly forbidden romance that was a helluva sexy read!

The forbidden aspect is of a best friend's little sister variety. Everly is not the awkward nerdy preteen that Niko remembers. In fact he actually does not recognize her at their first meeting. I was not feeling Niko at all in the beginning of this book. He appeared arrogant, self absorbed and just an overall jerk. He was the definition of a manwhore. When he and Everly meet up again though, he becomes quite captivated with her and then this guy really started growing on me.

The sweet side of Niko came out as he and Everly's relationship blossomed and there were so many SWOON WORTHY moments in this book. There are some interesting twists in this book that brought out some tender moments where Niko just about stole my heart.

This book is super sexy. Like scorching hot and it starts off really early in the book. Book lovers needing instant gratification will be very happy. Of course, Niko being a super hot fireman probably notches up the hotness factor.

Overall this was a super sexy, forbidden romance with some humor, plot twists and even a bit of suspense towards the end. Definitely makes my book recommendation list. And I know we are only in the first week of January but seriously, this gets best cover model of 2018 so far 😁

Everyone should want a Niko Callahan to call their own! This was one of the better books I’ve read about a little sister hooking up with their older brother’s friend. Everly (love the name!) fulfills her dream of sleeping with her childhood crush. If only that happens to everyone! Definitely recommend this book. There are happy moments and sad moments but it’s all worth it in the end. And you can’t miss the true (half) Greek god that is Niko Callahan!

Just reading the blurb made me yawn. Read that (or some form of this plot) a few times. And the “I have 9 months to decide what to do” is what I think it is? Even more tedious.
And it seems like most reviews I read agree about some annoying quality of female mc: immaturity.
Please, with a plot like this author still feel the need to worsen it up by adding immature whining female

First of all before I even start my review of the book have you seen that drool worthy cover! I mean hot damn I would have picked the book up for that alone, then you know me if I see a book called Cocksure you know this book whore is going to be reading it for obvious reasons. I am also loving it when we have two authors collaborating I think it is kick ass how they can work together and write some of my favorite books. Olivia Kelley is a new author and her working with K.I. Lynn set this book up for success. Okay on to my review of Cocksure.

Now I gotta be honest here at first I wanted to bitch slap Everly a LOT but slowly I really started to like her character. Does she at times come across as extremely bitchy? Yes, but once you get to know her character then at least for me I started to understand her more and eventually liked her over all, didn’t love her but really liked her. Now Niko, that dirty talking, sex on a stick, cocky son of a bitch now he I loved even when I wanted to beat him with a bat for acting like an ass I still loved him. Wait until you learn his rules, but rules are meant to be broken, or at least that’s what I always say.

The banter, the chemistry between Niko and Everly, the secondary characters, the emotions all are what kept me reading and not wanting to put it down. Is there anything better than watching an essential manwhore be knocked to his knees by a woman, especially a woman who he knows he should stay away from, his best friend’s little sister. Can you say DRAMA! That was just one of the reasons why I enjoyed this one so much, you will have to read it to find out the rest.

I am already wanting the next book because this one was not only an amazing start for Olivia Kelley's writing career and a great addition for K.I. Lynn’s list of books it was a great first book to a series that already has me hooked. Make sure you have Cocksure on your TBR lists today and be prepared for the sexy Niko and to discover his rules.

Cocksure is a contemporary romance that is the first book in the series. This book is a standalone romance novel. The Older Brother’s Best Friend read is one of my favorite type of story to sit back and read. This is the forbidden love story of Niko Callahan and Everly Hayes. Everly moves back to Boston after living in California for ten years due to her psycho ex-boyfriend and she is looking for a new start in life. Only complication there is her childhood crush and her brother’s best friend- Niko Callahan. He is a firefighter who works with her brother and yet they spent a night together without him recognizing who she really was. Niko is a player but that doesn’t make him a bad guy, just a guy who doesn’t want to be tied down in any relationships. However, their night together brings in all sorts of complications. Everly just wants to be moved in and settled without herself being in a relationship but things do not work out that way, especially when her past rears its ugly head when her ex starts harassing her. What happens when Niko realizes the truth of who Everly really is and also that there are repercussions to their one night together? Can these two survive what occurred and end up with their own HEA? Or will they let that push them apart?
COCKSURE was a fantastic, sizzling and angsty read that was full of feels. I enjoyed the main characters and also the secondary characters introduced added an element of spice to the story which made me crave their stories as well. Niko and Everly are two people that , at first, you wouldn’t dream of them being together but as the story progresses, you see that they were made for one another and while Everly comes across at times as immature, she does start to grow up and her love is always there and true for Niko. And Niko- at times I wanted to smack him. He was such a man…and I loved how the story showed his progression – cocksure definitely describes him to a T. I am very much in love with this story and am looking forward to Alyson and Cam’s enemies to lovers story next in COCKTAILING!

This contemporary romance really cranks the heat on the sexual aspect and I loveeeddd it

There is nothing like a night out. A couple of drinks, some pretty girls, and a whole lot of fun for my dick. Lick, suck and fuck, then I’m out.
Nico is a manwhore that you want to strip naked and lock in a bedroom. He says exactly what he is thinking and Nico.. doesn’t promise any ribbons or rainbows. He promises you one night of explicit perfect sex. Until one day he takes home a mysterious stranger and wakes up with a post-it note on his dick.
But then again isn’t forbidden fruit always sweeter? I loved the secret texts and meet ups. I felt there was true character development in this book. But good god did Cam really just ruin the entire thing for me.
Oh and seriously the big “TA DAAAA” part of the secret reveal was …. TERRIBLE!!! It totally made me HATE Everly…. And I didn’t want to hate her… I didn’t .. and then the reveal happened and I totally didn’t care anymore.
I like that the book STILL had a few more twists and turns to it but it felt like two different books in one. I loved both halves but I never really saw how it linked together.

Cocksure by KI Lynn and Olivia Kelley is the first book in the series. This book is a standalone romance novel.
Meet Niko Callahan. He´s a firefighter and his life is great. He has good friends, a family who loves him. He never believed in love at first sight, ´til " she " stormed into his life and rocked his world.

Everly Hayes has ahd a bad break up with her ex and moved back into her hometown. The only complication there, her teenage crush Niko lives there and is her brothers best friend. The spend the night without Niko knowing who she really is. He´s not a bad guy, yes he´s a player who doesn´t want a relationship, but he´s always forward with it. Only he can´t get her out of his head.
Everly is insecure and does the ostrich tactic. Put the head into the sand and pretend everything is allright. This backfires spectacularly.
The book is written in a dual POV. I started reading and was captivated from page one. I read the book in one sitting, I couldn´t put it down. The writing is great and I love the story and the words. The characters had me torn, while I really loved Niko´s character, Everly made me angry at some point. She´s very insecure and doesn´t trust, ok I get it, she was hurt by her ex; but why does she project his behavior on Niko? He´s his own person and nothing like the ex. He wants to come clear the whole time, but no, Everly and her ostrich beg him not to.
I give 4,5 stars. Thank you, KI Lynn and Olivia Kelley !

Wow! It may have taken me a while to read Cocksure, but it was worth every minute. I loved Everly and Nico! Nico was so hot! Everly used to have a crush on Nico, when she was a kid and followed him and her brother, Cameron around. Now she's all grown up and wants to experience the Nico that really knows his way around a woman's body. She just doesn't want him to know it's his friend's sister, so she lies. When the truth comes out, who will be more upset, Nico, or Everly's brother? I really enjoyed this book, especially all the steamy scenes. It was also romantic at times, and even had some suspense. I am looking forward to reading Cam's story soon.

Everly moves back home after catching her boyfriend cheating on her. Being back home after so long brings back memories, such as crushing on her brother's best friend back in the day. Now when she see him for the first time after so long she realizes he doesn't recognize her. So will one wild night with him hurt? I mean if he doesn't remember who she is no harm no foul right? Oh how very wrong she was on that.

Things I liked about this story, NIKO! I found him amazing from the beginning, yes even when he was a manwhore. I was still drawn to him. He may have been a naughty man, but he had the patience of a saint when it came to Everly if you ask me. Another thing I liked, There were some laugh out loud moments for me as well.

Okay, here is the reason I did not completely love this book... Everly. I found her annoying and frustrating and because of that I had no empathy for her.

Overall, this book was okay-ish for me.

I've been wanting to read K.I. Lynn for awhile now. I have a lot of friends who have been raving about her books. When I saw this was up for grabs I knew I had to read it.

As much as I wanted to finally read this author, I was also nervous about that title. I knew that title meant we were getting an arrogant womanizer for a Hero and I'm really not a fan of arrogance.

I was right. In the beginning, that is exactly how Niko came off. He was cocky and a huge player but ultimately, he ended up being the reason I really liked the book.

Once Niko met Everly, his player days were over. The best thing about a womanizing hero is when they find the one, they are all in. Unfortunately for Niko, his One keeps putting him off. He never gave up on her though and I loved how he chased her!

Everly has always had a crush on Niko. She tried to tell herself it was just a little girls crush. When she moves back home and she gets the chance to have her one night with him, she can't pass it up. The problem, is he doesn't know she's Everly. It's been 8 long years since he has seen her and she doesn't look anything like she did as a kid.

Everly never expected Niko to want more than one night. She knows she can't hide her identity for long but she never thought she would have to tell her brother she slept with his best friend. The same best friend he ordered not to touch her. Oh the web we weave!

I'm glad I took a chance on this book and I'm definitely a new fan. The only downside for me was Everly's refusal to face reality. It was almost overwhelming in the story for me. Niko is truly what made me love this book. ARC provided by NetGalley.

I absolutely loved everything about this book! I am a sucker for forbidden romance, especially when that romance involves a best friend's little sister. Cocksure had me giggling, nervous, intrigued, and so many other emotions. I will definitely be reading more from these authors!

The Story. First of all, this story was very well written and had a nice flow to it. I loved all of the characters and side characters in this book. I felt there was tremendous growth in both of the main characters as well has a great depth to them. There was a slight suspense element to it that I loved having in there because it gave it a little spice. Plus who doesn't love a bunch of hot firemen ready to come to the rescue?! Everly moves back to Boston after living in California for ten years due to her bitch of an ex-boyfriend, and she is looking for a new start in life. When her childhood crush doesn't recognize her, she takes life by the horns and goes after what she has always wanted. However, their night together brings in all sorts of complications...the biggest one of all being her overprotective big brother, Cameron. Niko is only interested in no strings attached sex, but gets the shock of his life when Post-It note girl from the bar, "Alyson," gives him a taste of his own medicine. Niko can't stop thinking about this girl and wants to find her again. Although, he might have bitten off more than he can chew when he realizes exactly who he took home.

Everly. After being screwed over by her ex, Everly is only looking to settle into her new life with her new job and her new house. She has been burned in the worst way and is only looking for something easy. That doesn't exactly happen when her feelings for Niko come back in full force the minute she sees him again. Everly throws up walls left and right and it takes a lot for her to finally let her guard down. I found myself getting frustrated with her a few times because of this, but I also completely understood the reasons behind her actions.

Niko. Niko is my favorite character in this book because he knows what he wants and his perseverance is admirable. Post-It girl completely turned Niko's life upside down and he finds himself abandoning his playboy ways in exchange for the one woman who he can't stop thinking about. I totally felt for Niko when Everly kept punishing him for her ex's sins and the guilt he felt for sleeping with his best friend's sister. I really loved how protective he was of Everly and how he was willing to risk his lifelong friendship for the woman he loves.

The Relationship. These two were a match made in heaven. It might have taken them a while to get it right, but when they did, it was beautiful. I felt there was a great balance in the relationship and that the characters truly grew together. I think it is so important for authors to also highlight the characters growth as a couple as well as individuals. In real life, it takes work and it takes time to create a lasting relationship, and I loved the realistic feel of this relationship.

I highly recommend this book to those who love: forbidden romance, contemporary, firemen, character growth, and amazing relationships.

** ARC provided by the author for an honest review **

Have you ever had a crush on your brother’s best friend? Remember those fantasies? The ones you had where you imagined what would happen if you had just one night with him. USA Today bestselling author K.I. Lynn teamed up with friend and debut author Olivia Kelley to give a story that answers just what happens when fantasy becomes reality. Cocksure is a brother’s best friend romance that you do not want to miss.

Everly has always had a crush on her brother’s friend Niko. It’s been ten years since they last saw each other and when he doesn’t recognize her, she takes full advantage of the situation. What starts as fun quickly develops into feelings. The truth changes things, brings complications and consequences. Can they move pass the deception?

This was a fun and sexy read! Everly got the chance that a lot of us with a brother(s) wish we could have, at least when we were younger. But there weren’t just fun times here. We get to read about the drama of her ex and watch as she tries to keep Niko from finding out just who she is. This was more than a tropey romance. Of course, there is the basics of the trope, but there is also depth and humor, even a little suspense. It surpassed the trope romance to me and became just a romance, with all the layers and steaminess that comes with. I can’t wait to read Cam story next! Five stars.

❤~🌟~❤3.5. SMOLDERING STARS!❤~🌟~❤<

Holy smokes! COCKSURE by K.I. Lynn and Olivia Kelley was OH-SO-COMBUSTIBLE!!! The Older Brother’s Best Friend trope is one of my absolute favorites, and when it stars a sinfully sexy fireman...prepare for some sizzling sparks!!

The Story:
This is the forbidden love tale of Niko Callahan and Everly Hayes. The heroine has been severely been burnt in love and just moved back to her Boston hometown to lick her wounds. Complications arise in the form of her childhood crush Niko who also happens to be her older brother Cam’s best friend. Niko and Everly have not laid eyes on each other in 10 years and when she sidles up to the arrogantly sexy firefighter at the local pub, and he immediately hits on her without batting an eye, a shocked Everly realizes he does not recognize her! Seizing the opportunity, she throws caution to the wind, gives herself a fake alias, and decides to live out EVERY DIRTY FANTASY she’s ever had of Niko.

Since she knows that neither of them is looking for anything lasting, and the sh*t will hit the fan if Niko found out he slept with his best buds’ baby sister, she sneaks off after their wild, crazy smoking hot interlude,, with a Post-It thank you attached to his “love rod,” and prays they never cross paths again. Of course the best laid plans have a way of going awry and when her hunky fireman discovers the truth of her deception prepare for calamity galore! Can these two survive the CONSEQUENCES of their actions with their hearts intact?

My Thoughts:
COCKSURE was a fun, dramatic and sexy read!!!! This is my first book by K.I. Lynn and Olivia Kelley and wowza did they electrify! The MCs were absolutely wonderful together and shared a fiery chemistry that could literally set off smoke alarms!

Swoooon! What is it about a man in uniform that's so dang hot? Niko is just so scrumptious! He is big and muscular, sweet and sexy, uber protective and chivalrous to the core... Of course he is far from perfect with quite a notorious reputation. When we first meet him he is a cocky, overconfident playboy who lives by a stringent set of RULES that he applies to all his hookups.

1. Never bring them back to my place.
2. Only one night.
3. Don’t catch feelings.
4. See all rules above.

But then a stunning firecracker named “Alyson” aka Everly storms into his world, turns his life asunder and she proves to be the only girl on the planet that he happily breaks every single one of his rules for. I enjoyed the metamorphosis of his character as we got to see what truly lies beneath the gorgeously “cocksure” package! A fiercely loyal man who values family, friendship, and love above all else, and it made me fall even harder for this kind, handsome, big-hearted fireman!!!! But staking a claim on the beautiful, infuriatingly cagey minx who drives him crazy in bed--and out-- is fraught with a plethora of obstacles.

There is juicy tension, plenty of hot, steamy times, and oodles of humor and witty banter throughout, as well as a nice undercurrent of suspense that keeps things exciting. And one of my favorite parts of the story was the good-natured, close-knit bromance between Niko and Cam that led to some of the most hilarious exchanges in the book!

However, AS MUCH as I enjoyed the story, I struggled with the execution at times, and it prevented me from being fully swept up in this romance. For starters, after a stellar opening that hooks you right away, the story dragged in places, especially in the first half, to the point that I found myself skimming some repetitive sections till I got to the meat of the plot.

But my main gripe is with the heroine. I REALLY wanted to like Everly. I mean, who does not root for the former shy and nerdy Ugly Duckling-turned-gorgeous-Swan who finally gets to live out her fantasies with her childhood crush? But she made it really, really hard! Even though I got why Everly was so disillusioned by love and insecure about her self-worth, her indifferent, aloof, anti-commitment stance grated on my nerves after a while. As did her constant mood swings, her fickle hot and cold attitude, and her always thinking the worst of Niko, even when he jumped through hoops to prove his worth.

Look, I enjoy the thrill of the chase as much as the next gal, but when it’s just one character doing the pursuing and getting the short end of the stick throughout it’s hard to invest! But THE GOOD NEWS is that the story took a more positive turn for me once Everly FINALLY got over her hang-ups and stopped running from her feelings. And the dramatic twists leading up to the sigh-worthy HEA ending were absolutely fantastic!

Final Thoughts: Although I did grapple with some elements of this story, I still recommend this book for fans who enjoy an engaging Older Brother’s Best Friend romance that tickles you funny bone, touches your heart, and sets your panties aflame! And keep an eye out for Alyson and Cam’s enemies to lovers story next in COCKTAILING!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - 5 Stars!

Cocksure is the first story I have read from both K I Lynn and Olivia Kelley, but let me just say that it was a fantastic read! This story had it all for me, humour, emotion, chemistry, and a little suspense.

Cocksure: Confident in an excessive or arrogant way.
This term can be used to describe Niko. He is a cocky, confident playboy who never see’s the same girl twice. That is until he meets the girl who changes everything. She entered his world, turned it upside down and brought Niko to his knees.

Everly hasn’t seen Niko in 10 years, and a lot has changed in that time. She is surprised when Niko doesn’t recognise her. So much so, that she decides to lie about who she is to fulfil the fantasies of her 12 year old self. She has had a crush on Niko since she was a young girl. There is just one small problem. Niko is her brother’s best friend.

Niko and Everly have pretty hot chemistry. You can feel the tension as you read. Niko is such a great character, I love him! He can be arrogant and demanding but underneath it all he is just a guy with a big heart, ready for someone to fill it. Once he loves, he loves hard and loves forever! There were some really funny parts in this book. Referencing the post it note and the bathroom scene was one of my favourites. Some parts were quite suspenseful, and had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. I did actually tear up in a couple of parts. The story is well written and is a nice flowing slow burn romance. It is great to get a story that can evoke so many different emotions from the reader. Cocksure is not one to be missed. You won’t regret reading this fantastic story. It’s a brilliant start to a series I know I’m going to love! I can’t wait for the next one ladies! Bring on Cameron and Alyson!

AVAILABLE NOW - FULL REVIEW

Cocksure drew me in with the title and the synopsis, and while, overall, it is a good read, it lacks that something that made me want to pick it up and ignore the world.

The characters are okay. Nicko is the typical playboy who is never going to settle down until he meets the one. He is persistent in his pursuit, and, surprisingly is the one that wants more. He has many great qualities but his character felt very two dimensional. Everly seems very immature. She runs from her feelings and has trust issues, and her inability to commit is frustrating. I often found myself irritated by her comments and actions. Now, the authors attempt to give a reason for her behavior, but other than the trust issues, there is really no reason for it. Overall, the banter is good and the bedroom scenes are fine, but this couple just lacked that spark for me.

The pacing of this book is slow. It took forever for these two to even be physically in the same room together, and since the emotional chemistry is missing, the plot dragged. I needed them to be together more, to see them grow together more, and to see them fall in love. It was all just too slow. What is fast in the story is the inevitable conflict for this type of story, as well as the issue with another character that is introduced early. This is the best part of the book, and it was over in a few chapters.

Cocksure has real potential. The writing is good, and the makings of an amazing story are there. I just wish there would have been more couple time, more suspenseful moments...just more.

I received a free copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Niko has been Everly's crush since she was kid. He is her brother's best friend.
When she comes back to Boston, after living several years in California, Niko doesn't recognise her. So, she decides to play a dangerous game. She changes her name in order to spent a hot night with him. He accepts, without knowing that she is Cam's little sister.
That's the beginning of the book. Promising, right?
When Niko finds it out, he is torn between telling the truth to Cam or not.
Things get messy. And that's when I started to enjoy this book.
