I did not like this much unfortunately. There are few poems about the aftermath of a suicide that I think are very well done, but on the whole, the poems seem pretty disconnected from each other. I don't expect every poem in a collection to all be about the same thing or to follow each other chronologically as if events in a story, but I expect them to add up either to a narrative of sorts or an extended meditation on a theme, and that just doesn't happen here. I kept trying to make them form into a coherent narrative and being disappointed that I couldn't figure out which poems are about the mom and which are about the sister and if the sister committed suicide or the absent lover.
