I know other reviewers mention this is not a true five ingredient cookbook. That is true, however...First, this author is by no means the first to employ this recipe tactic. I appreciated that the five main ingredients are highlighted. In the past I have bought cookbooks that are truly 5 ingredients, and they end up being the same 40 recipes over and over. If you are not quite ready for the extensive recipes out there, but are ready for a little more than boiling water, then I think it is a great book. I'm a busy mother, with only the most basic of skills, and I will be making use of this book for sure.
So many recipe books have ingredients not usually on hand. Not this one, these meals typically use items from your pantry. Look forward to making new meals the easy way with a crock pot. I received a review copy from the publisher but it did not influence my honest opinion and review.
I like how it focuses on short prep times and no processed food. And I like how it makes it easy to avoid the big allergens. I learned time saving tips, like that grocery stores sold mirepoix that already contains chopped carrots, celery and onions, saving prep time. I will be using rabbits as the meat in these recipes, so I'll just use the chicken and turkey recipes and substitute my rabbit. I'm excited!
I love the fact with every recipe it has allergy advice, I have a son that has long been taken off of lactose so still getting use to it so I think it's fantastic that you have things on there that work well for people with allergies.. Really can't wait to try them out..
Quick easy dump and go cookbook. I plan to use several of these recipes this fall/winter. Trying to make the most of my time while using my crockpot. Plan to use my crockpot 3-4 times a week. I can easily accomplish that using this book.
I’d give a pass if it was just salt and pepper but it’s not. No spice counts as an ingredient, neither does milk and other items. Some of these have pretty long spice lists too
