An extraordinarily entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series
Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. Outstanding cast of characters with a very entertaining storyline. Young woman who is a private investigator train by her adopted father takes over the business with her father passes away. Soon after she find her biological mother and meet her as she is dying in the hospital. Something happens between them and the next thing she knows she finds out she is actually a witch. She soon finds out that she also has family in the supernatural world a grandmother and aunt into cousins. They live in a supernatural town that can only be visited by people who are of supernatural persuasion. She soon starts to straddle both worlds visiting her family there as well as her adoptive sister and her family in the human world. She continues on in her private investigation service in the real world while beginning to take on cases in the supernatural world as well. Follow along as she solves multiple cases in each book. On occasion she will also interact with the reader with a snarky quip or comment. Extraordinarily entertaining and a fun read. Check it out
Another murder and a guy has disappeared. One of the people in the local police force is out. There's a ballroom competition and Winky is involved in gambling. A new local police person comes in and seems to hate Jill right off.
A friend moves away, a troll needs help, there's some gargoyles, a couple of witchfinders, another murder and two pregnancies. Her grandmother cheats yet again.
It's obvious that Jill has a lot to deal with. What Winky is doing seems to be pretty unrealistic (actually, almost anything he does is pretty unrealistic.) Her grandmother yet again demonstrates her lack of ethics. As is said, with great power comes great responsibility and, at least in my opinion, part of that responsibility involves being ethical, understanding and helpful. None of those traits fit her grandmother.
The books are still well written and the last couple have gotten interesting again, but I am in two minds as to wether I actually LIKE Jill Gooder. Her lying constantly is ridiculous, her treatment of her sister and Jack is abysmal (although, maybe she takes after her father in that regard). The way the entire mess of cases comes together each time however is magical. While all the plains in the series are interesting it is Ghost Town that truly terrifies me. What if the afterlife is truly just another work to survive(?) existence with no way out?
Witch is Why Promises Were Broken (Book 23) Review
Well Adele, another entertaining story! Your imagination is very good and unique. I have enjoyed reading your stories very much and look forward to the next book in the series. I highly recommend reading Adele's stories to anyone interested in reading cleverly written funny and stories. Thanks for the entertainment!
I definitely like these better since Jill has been busier--she usually has several cases and a little work to put in on one of the backstories. At any rate a fun romp with Jill was just what the doctor ordered.
It's a good short read but since it's book 24 guess you would say I'm hooked. It's like a serial and short so you can finish in a few hrs. Would be best to start with the first book it is a continuing story.
Grandma is a cheat, but we already knew that. Jill is in trouble, but we knew that too. They now have a pretty sloth, but Jack doesn't know. And I definitely don't trust the new neighbors! None of them!
I love the ending. It made me laugh. Sorry, no cliffhanger this time. A very good book, though. Lots of development in Jill’s life. I really enjoyed reading about some of the things she faces personally. Plus, all the antics of the rest of the characters.
Absolutely wonderful characters that interact with each other beautiful! Fabulous plot twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this series.
Don't know how she does it, but Jill has the knack of solving almost every mystery that comes her way. I say almost because there are still some that she has yet to solve. Add her family and pets, there is never a dull moment.
This book is a light read filled with fun and mystery. Very enjoyable as Jill continues her search for the people in the locket, Gargoyles, and Winky’s captor.
Potato chip book - don't bother thinking, but it's amusing. Lots of puns, plot points are seriously transparent, and you don't even have to guess what's going to happen.
I've read the entire Witch PI series so far. I find them to be a quick read, and very amusing. I'll keep reading until Ms. Abbott decides the story is finished!
The secrets are getting even more intriguing. Love this series and can't wait for the final one in the Witch is Why and get to the Witch is How final group of 12? May be more, but we will see.
I find Jill Holders sense of humor refreshingly childlike. She handles situations professionally and with little magic. She balances her world's with finess.
