Consider this - who exactly comes to a cotillion?

Females. Young, innocent, virgin females. That's who!

Enough to satisfy even my desires. Women are my weakness and I indulge that weakness as often as I can. Gold-diggers. Coquettes. Self-serving opportunists. I'm a Prince, why wouldn't they throw themselves at me? I take what's freely offered because it's satisfying, but I'll never love someone who has nothing but a pretty face. I'm not interested in being the hunted. Not when there's prey as delicious as Elle Gray!

Sweet, intelligent, motivated. The girl I can't get out of my head. She's got her ticket away from mediocrity, an acceptance letter to a prestigious fashion school. All she needs is a sponsor. A sponsor she can find at my cotillion. I'll find her again that night...

And that night I'll be her first…

USA Today bestselling author Miranda Martin writes fantasy and scifi romance featuring heroes with out-of-this-world anatomy that readers call 'larger than life' and smart heroines destined to save the world. As a little girl, she would sneak off with her nose in a book, dreaming of magical realms. Today she brings those fantasies to life and adores every fan who chooses to live in them for a while.

Though born and raised in southern Virginia, Miranda Martin is a veteran who's traveled to places like Korea, Hawaii, and good 'ole Texas. She's since settled in Kansas, the heart of America, with her husband and daughters, a cat, and wishes for a pet dragon or unicorn. When she's not writing, you can still find her tucked away somewhere with a warm blanket and her nose in a book.

I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.

I honestly just didn't like this story as much as I did the other two books in the series. The setup was good with the traditional Cinderella evil stepmother and step-sisters. There is even a godmother to help Elle out. I liked the first meeting between Herne and Elle, but the cotillion is where it went downhill for me. With the VR makeup I can kind-of believe that Herne didn't recognize Elle, but I'm not sure why Elle didn't recognize Herne. In fact Elle kept thinking about Herne while hooking up with "Prince Charming" at the cotillion (it left a rather icky feeling to me).

I had an ARC edition, so my review is based on story and not grammar/spelling.

Very different to the fairy tales of my childhood! This modern retelling of Cinderella has alien princes, determined virgins with education sponsors on the mind and enough erotic twists to curl your hair! Herne may be the calm centre of his group of friends but that's not saying a lot! He is charm personified and used to having women fawn over him to get what they want.

Elle may be after his money for sponsorship but she is not about to sell herself to the highest bidder, even if he does make her heart do funny things!

This is an adult retelling of Cinderella with a twist. Prince Charming is a Singarti- an alien race that has come to Earth. Herne is the "calm" prince of his little group. When not one but two women run out on him, his "beast" rises the surface. Once he realizes they are the same woman nothing will stop him from finding her.

Prince

This one wasn’t so great, to me. I guess I was over the whole fairy tale thing. Anyway, I just wanted the book to end. I liked the characters & I had no problem with the story. I think I am just over it.

4.5 Stars This is a really good rendition of the Cinderella fairy tale. Herne and Ella are smokin’. Good read for those who love dirty fairytale romances.

I loved this Retelling of Cinderella! I also liked the fact that previous characters show up in this storyline. Kinda makes me wish I could physically see the dresses that were in the book, and how far off from reality it really is. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
