A good quick read. As Turner continues this series, she tackles an important issue of self-identity and self-worth of women who can't conceive. This is Camila's story and the shoes she must walk in as she grapples with this undeniable aspect of her life and the man who challenges her from the first time they met.

Xyla Turner has become my favorite indie author! I love her writing and the fact that she uses real world situations for her books. In strut in my shoes is the second story to march in her shoes which is about Camila's story. Camila is dealing with the fact that she can never have children.

Throughout the story you see the ups and downs of how Camila is handling the situation. Camila is afraid to open up and get close to men, who she sees as one night stands. As I was reading I saw a little of myself within Camila. Although I dont know what its like to not be able to give birth but how she started to deal with the pain and hurt is something I can relate to.

I love that we were able to see more of Alexus and Devin in this book. Chris is an amazing man and I loved how strong he was with Camila. Women need men who will be strong and love us through it all, simply because women have gone through a lot.

I can not wait for next installment in this series. Its so good and relatable and it deals with real problems women face each day.

Thank you Xyla for another great story!

I really enjoyed Camila and Chris’ story. While I did not identify with her need to have children, I loved her character. She was a woman who was operating on automatic because of hurt and pain. Chris was able to see through her mask and essentially help her to heal. He showed her that she was worthy of live and that her dream of being a mother could still come true. Her ex was the broken one if you ask me. He never loved her, not if he left he because of something she couldn’t help. That’s ok. It left the door wide open for Chris to come in and scoop her up. Yaaassss!

Worth the Read...Too Short...One of My Triggers

Xyla Turner said she wanted these novellas to be short to focus on the issue & the couple.
Mission accomplished.
I like Chris short for Christopher.
I never really gave Camilla a chance to decide if I like her.

I am hard on people who appear to not want to be parents but rather want to have a baby.
I feel like this is an easy decision... black families have been made up of other peoples children for a long time.

Ms. Turner's writing is compassionate and she has made mental health a central theme in these stories. This is important because we don't often encourage that course of action. We often hear that God or Prayer or just pushing through is enough.

Again. Worth the read. I hope you will if only to see Camilla through lends that I could not.

Someone for everyone

Show wrote a heart wrenching story of how one woman dealt with her inability to do what God made women do and that is to give birth. That was something she desperately wanted to do and could not. Her husband dumped her in a most humiliating way and caused her to swear off relationships. She did not want to tell another man whom she'd fallen for that she was barren and suffer rejection again.

Chris had fallen for Camilla and wanted her regardless. He helped her to see the options she had and was willing to stand by her through think and thin. My heart went out to Camilla and her situation and I fell in love with Chris for being more of a man than her selfish ex-husband.

I liked the writing and the issue. I think there are so many issues that are not openly discussed due to fear. Though many of us would see this as a none issue, because we don't have this problem. It is real and women do go through this. I liked that Xyla tackles one such issue through Camilla. I liked the hero even more. The story is well thought out and holds your attention to the end. I was disappointed that I breezed through the story so quickly because I wanted more. But, I always seem want more of XT's books. I would recommend this series. The books are short, they hold your attention, the characters are people that "we may know", just real. Thank you for a good read.

Strut in her shoes

Camila & Chris story was more about not assuming that when you share a life changing event the person will walk away. Not everyone is blessed with the ability to have a child that does not mean you cannot be a parent. There are many children who are in need of a family to call their own. Overall this story was well wriiten.

Boots are made for walking

I enjoyed reading Camilla's story but more than anything I enjoyed Chris. He steals the book from his first appearance and I fell in love with his pursuit of Camilla. I rooted for them and for Camilla! Great story! Looking forward to the next story! Hard topics but harder love! 😁

I really enjoyed Camille and Chris' story. I thought Chris was extremely loving and showed Camille love and understanding even when her actions did not deserve it. A great short story, very romantic.

I wasn't sure about a series involving the struggles all women can relate to but I'm a huge fan of Xyla Turner so I'm giving it a chance. So far I've enjoyed these quick reads and the added bonus of romance is icing on the cake. Can't wait to read more...
