I don’t go out with men for more than three dates. Once I hit that magic number, it’s game over and onto the next.
It’s the only way I’ve found to protect my heart. After an ex ruined my life, I vowed to never let a man have that kind of power over me again. Sure, we can have fun, but they’ll never see where I live or learn my last name. That’s too personal.
When Carter’s puppy slipped its leash and led him right to me, I wanted him immediately. Tall and hunky with a musician’s talented hands and an adorable puppy to play with? That’s what the fling of my dreams is made of. Three incredible dates coming right up.
It all goes sideways when my ex shows up and I seek refuge in Carter’s powerful arms. He is so perfect that it’s dangerous. I can’t stop wanting more, can’t stop needing him.
They say rules are made to be broken, but my heart can’t take another beating.
Can Carter help me trust again?
Three Date Rule is in turns sinfully hot and hauntingly poignant. This is a full-length standalone novel with a HEA and no cheating. Find out why reviewers say D.G. Whiskey writes the hottest scenes they've ever read!
D.G. Whiskey is a world traveller who uses experiences earned and relationships forged on the road to create vivid portraits of humanity. Number of countries visited is over 18 and climbing rapidly, with innumerable friends made along the way.
The heroes are always hot alphas and the heroines are clever and independent. The writing is confident, sexy and layered.
D. G. Whiskey has done it again-written such a steamy, erotic and extremely hot story with a fantastic storyline that kept me interested from start to finish. Madison is a woman who just hasn’t had much luck in her dating life. Not after the way her ex did her so wrong so now she has a 3 date rule. She has to, because it took forever to get herself back on track mentally and physically. So Madison has rules and when she meets Carter, he is this hot guy who isn’t looking for any strings and is looking for a quick fling. These two immediately have such chemistry sizzling between them. And the flirting is HAWT! I also enjoyed the secondary characters introduced in this story- like Madison's friend Clara. Madison and Carter had this amazing love story but that’s not to say things are smooth. There is a bit of a roller coaster with their love story. Carter had quite a shocker for Madison which was quite the twist. Will this be the end to their love or will this bring them closer together? I loved how the author built the story , showed their love story and also threw in some awesome action and fabulous romance and sexual tension. It made for a wonderful romance read!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Madison has a 3 date rule. No more, ever. Not after the way her ex treated her like he did. She's finally built herself back up and is progressing in her career. She is a fun, light, bubbly person now. She meets Carter after his dog, Rex, jumps on her while out for a walk. They hit off and agree to go one 3 dates. Carter has been travelling Europe, as he's musician. And a pretty good one too. He's decided to maybe finally come back to New York, to stay. He has a pretty sad secret that he's keeping to himself and it's the reason he has stayed away for so long. The chemistry and flirting is undeniable between these two and it radiates off the page. Their dates are fun and exciting. There are a few laughs, especially when they are on the row boat. Made me laugh while I was picturing it! I liked Madison's friend and work colleague, Clara. She talked a lot of sense to Madison. And I liked that she had her back when it came to Gary. I LOVED every minute of this book, I couldn't put it down! I devoured in a couple of hours. I loved every twist and turn. Carter had quite a shocker for Madison though, didn't see that coming and then there was another shocker, where Carter had that phone call, totally didn't see that coming either. I'm so, so happy Madison and Carter got the happy ending that they both deserved. I'm so ecstatic that Carter burst through all her boundaries and walls she had put up. They both may have been broken but they certainly pieced each other back together. I was rooting for Carter right from their first interaction. I so totally wanted to give Gary a swift kick in his family jewels. He was such a misogynistic a-hole. I was shouting at Madison to get the better of him! I think this is my favourite book of Mr Whiskey 's so far!

How do these stories get steamier and sexier? Is there no limit to this author's creativity and talent? GOSH, i hope not. With a book written by D.G. Whiskey, I always know I am going to be taken on a wild ride. A sensual ride. A sublime ride. I have to set aside a few hours as I know I will have to finish the book in one session, totally unable to let go until the last word is read.
D. G. Whiskey, storyteller extraordinaire, spins a sensational story filled to the brim with edgy passion, souls colliding, instant attraction and rapturous sensuality. Madison has rules and Carter is quite happy to have a no strings fling. From the moment they meet, the attraction grows rapidly, with strict lines becoming blurred very quickly. Never did Three Date Rule lessen in intensity. The palpable attraction gave me goosebumps. The little twisty surprises I never saw coming. Something creative that elevated the heart rate and made me shiver was at every turn of the page. My whole attention belonged to this story, never once abating.
Three Date Rule was yet another perfect read. I know when a book leaves me wanting more, then I am onto something good. D.G. Whiskey delivers incredible, at each and every book release. I cannot get enough.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh wow, what a story, so hot, so sexy, so emotional, so frustrating because of certain people, so....everything. This story has it all. Yes, I have to admit, the tissues came out too. This is the story of Madison who has a three date rule. At first I was shocked but after reading about her ex Gary, I can understand why. Madison is such fun, so alive and bubbly and just a lovely woman. Gary treated her badly and needs a good kick everywhere even the proverbial Crown Jewels. Then she meets Carter, now there's a man you would leave home for. He is just what Madison needs. Thing is, Carter has his own secrets but they make each other feel things, new emotions, new longings and the question is "How do they do that". Good job they have good friends in the background. A brilliant read, highly recommended and yes YOU will get the tissues out too.
Why, oh why can't I have that extra .5? Really enjoyed this one. Well edited.
Madison has been really hurt by a slimy weasel, and as a result will only go on three dates with any one man. Out walking, she helps catch a puppy for Carter. Thus begins their path to HEA. Their path is not smooth, however. I mean, it really wouldn't be a good romance without bumps along the way! Carter has his own deep hurt that he is recovering from. Together, they learn to open up to the possibility of love again.
The flow of the story was really good. Both people realized they needed to open their hearts, but both were careful and thoughtful. Testing the waters, moving forward, pulling back, reevaluating, and then, ultimately embracing the future. I knew Jon was going to play into her future, but was surprised by where he fit in! Good job there. Enjoy!
Madison comes up with the three date rule, after being hurt so badly by her ex Gary. She meets someone and after three dates, it's over! She deletes their numbers, effectively blocking any further communication. Madison and Carter meet thanks to his new puppy Rex. This book is a beautifully written story about heartbreak and loss! Can Madison do away with her three date rule? Will Carter be the exception? This book is so much more than just Madison's journey up to this point. We learn of the journey Carter has taken too, and boy what a journey. I highly recommend this book to everyone! If you've never read a book by D. G. Whiskey, you should definitely one-click and read his best book to date.
I absolutely loved this book from page one. Madison was such a sweet character. Definitely knew that there was a story of sadness behind her past that she was running from. But she was strong and building her life back up. Carter was great. He too had a sadness that you knew had a story. The authors little hints along the way left me with a sense of what happened, but not the whole story about what happened to him. When his past is all revealed, you want to hug him and be proud that he is moving on with his life. Their chemistry is instantaneous when they meet in the park. Great hot scenes throughout the story. I loved that Madison gets closure on her past in the end. I was cheering her on. Can't wait to read more from this author!
I loved this book from the first word to the last! Such a great meet cute!
I adored Carter! Such a sweet guy that had been through some trials in his life. He wasn't looking for Madison, but she is exactly what he needed.
Madison has had her heart broken before and that is why she insists on the three date and done rule. She sticks to what she believes that won't break her heart again. Too bad the heart wants what it wants when it comes to Carter.
I loved Carter & Madison together! I enjoyed the banter between Carter & Madison.
I can't wait to see what D.G. Whiskey comes up with next! This is definitely my favorite of his books to date!
***I received an advanced reader's copy from the author. I reviewed this book voluntarily.***
I loved the latest from D.G. Whiskey! Madison and Carter are great characters and the way they meet is great. Carter is back in New York City after being gone for 3 years, avoiding coming home due to the pain being around brings, and out walking his new puppy has him meeting a woman who makes him want to try again. Madison is happy with her career and her three date rule to dating. Once the three dates are over Madison is ready to walk away and has been that way since her last serious relationship was so toxic and ended. Yet meeting Carter and his puppy finds her wanting to rethink the rule, even if she still tries to stick with it. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I had the privilege of reading and ARC copy. Madison was hurt in her past relationship and made up the rule that after three dates she leaves and deletes the men from her life. Carter had a tragedy in his past and has been out of the dating world for 5 years. While walking his new puppy Rex in the park one day, Rex found Madison. Not only did Rex like her Carter found her extremely interesting too. Madison told him about her three date rule and they decided to go for it, but neither of them expected the feelings that would develop and not so easy to drop. Great love story about how no matter how traumatic your life has been, never give up on love.
I loved everything about this story! Madison and Carter have perfect chemistry and I loved their wit and the banter. Madison is funny, outgoing and driven. I love that she is so strong in spite of everything she has been through yet willing to let herself feel again and let down the walls when necessary. Carter is adorable – a musician, animal lover, hot as hell lover, what more could you want? Well – you get more - sensitive, funny, loves his family, and thoughtful to boot! Great writing and great character development – I love it when I get a good look at the personalities of secondary characters! What a great read!!!
I voluntarily received an ARC cop for my honest review Madison has a three date rule after how her ex treated her, she has built herself back up and is progressing in her work Carter has been travelling Europe as he is a musician, he meets Madison after his dog Rex jumps out at Madison while on a walk they hit it off and agree to go a date The chemistry and flirting is off the charts with these two throughout the book This is a great true love read and will have you gripped from the start Another great read from this fantastic Author
I'm a huge fan of D.G. Whiskey's work and Three Date Rule is his best work yet! Deserves 5+ stars and it absolutely smashed it out of the park!
Three Date Rule has it all, two strong main characters, a great love story that was packed full of laughter, drama, highs & lows, steam like you won't believe and a few twists that I never saw coming! Just Perfect! Hot AF!
I didn't want this story to end. I highly recommend for everyone to read you will not be disappointed!
I absolutely loved this book. I’m usually not one for romances but I gave it a chance, started reading it and I couldn’t put it down. I wished it went on forever! The only thing that kind of threw me off was the ending. It seemed a little rushed but overall it was a great read. It had me emotionally invested the whole way through!
What can I say? Just wow. Once I started reading the story I immediately felt in love with the story. I could not put the book down until I was done reading it. I just retook my passion for reading and D.G. Whiskey work will be something I'll look forward to reading. Well done!
Another winner by this author, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Carter and Madison were a fun couple proving rules were meant to be broken. The story pulled me in from the start and I enjoyed their sweet, romantic journey. They had great chemistry and kept me glued to my kindle.
This is my second D.G. Whiskey book and it did not disappoint. Although this book was way more steamy than the first and just as enjoyable. I absolutely love Carter and Madison, I mean who hasn't been burned in love? But these two characters saw the beauty in the other and threw caution to the wind and it paid off for them in dividends.
Madison has a three date rule so that she will never get hurt by a guy agin. It works perfect for her until she meets Carter. Now she has trouble sticking by her rules. Is there hope for her, to fall in love without beeing hurt. A great story and so well written. It was very emotional and sweet and romantic. Madison is a wonderful woman and she deserve the best
Great story that I really loved. This book truly pulled me in right from the beginning and I could not put it down until the end. Madison and Carter are wonderful characters with incredible chemistry who agree to go on 3 dates because Madison has a 3 date rule. She doesn't trust easily because of her ex. Can Carter break through her walls and make Madison break her 3 date rule? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
