Hometowns aren’t necessarily any safer than exotic shores.
After his wife was killed in a robbery-gone-wrong, Dan Wesinski left everything in New York behind to take the position of Police Chief in tiny Weaver’s Circle. Dan hoped he could do for the sleepy little town what he hadn’t been able to do for his wife.
Lucy Ferrel barely survived being kidnapped in Thailand, and knew she would never get over the PTSD from that horrific event. Weaver’s Circle and the chance to film the Summer Festival as part of her new job with a travel show, she didn’t need unwanted attraction to the equally wounded Police Chief. But Lucy recognized the pain she felt in the wounded man’s eyes…
domestic violence, frustrated police, and venial evil
Born in Northeast Ohio, Christa has lived on four different continents (including both sides of Asia)and traveled extensively. She has an extremely elaborate fantasy life and has been known to forget that the bands she made up don't exist to the extent that she has shopped for their albums on iTunes.
As someone who lives with PTSD, this book hits some of the highlights on PTSD. Just when you think you're doing well, something so small to everyone else, can send you reeling. The author does a good job of telling the story without overwhelming the heroine in her PTSD.
Small towns have their own things that can trigger fear, as we see in Protecting Lucy.
I received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.
Book was really good. Give you in sight on how people with PTSD goes thru. It's a wonder how people can get thru life with this. Again this book is good.
