I loved the original trilogy and this short prequel continues the fabulousness!!!!
The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire, The Beginning is the initial meeting of Josef and Gabe and how they came be friends/partners. As natural enemies this Vamp and wolf should not get along but Josef feels an overwhelming need to hep the young wolf.
There is a lovely transition from friends to family. Gabe lifts Josefs overbearing character somewhat and Josef calms the young pups joie de vive a bit!!! We see how they adapt to sharing women. We also get glimpses of other characters from another series, Supernatural Enforcement Bureau which was brilliant twist and helped cement the ties between the series.
The story is smart and sassy with a lovely humorous tone when dealing with Gabe and his exuberance!!! Now I want to hear much more about Josef, Gabe, Peri and the gang!

Loved learning how Josef and Gabe met and what caused Josef to open himself up to humanity again !! It sets it up perfectly for when they meet their witch !! 4's for cheeky repartee, blood and gore and all kinds of fun and games as the men become best friends as well as men who love each other without being lovers !! I received a gifted copy of the book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

This story sets the series in motion when Joseph finds a wounded wolf and takes him home to heal. Their friendship will grow and together build an empire that is a force to be reckoned with. It is a descriptively well written story that had me in awe of Joseph and Gabe. I can't wait to see what is ahead for these two in this series!

Wow! I love it. The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire, The Beginning by A. K. Michaels is the story of the initial meeting of Josef and Gabe and how their extraordinary friendship began. I've always been such a fan of this series. I've actually read and re-read it several times and every time I read it, I enjoy it even more. So naturally when I saw that Ava was releasing this story, I couldn't wait to order and read it. If I were asked of all the books I've ever read, and that would be a very large number, who are my favorite paranormal character
s of all time, I would have to say Ava's Josef, Gabe and Peri of The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire Series. The simple fact that these creatures who are natural born enemies are somehow able to overcome the confines of predestined supernatural prejudice and distrust of each other enabling them to become so much stronger together while forging a completely unselfish love and mutual respect for each other despite their differences. There's a remarkable lesson to be learned from these characters, something rather profound. If only it could be so simple in our own world. Ava's books always make me feel as if I'm returning home for a long awaited and highly anticipated visit to see family and friends. The story is smart, exciting, thrilling, humorous and enticing. The characters are fascinating, captivating, engaging and intriguing. And as always with any of Ava's books, a darn good read! Thank you Ava, I always love reading about Josef and Gabe. I have read all the WWV Series (I am a big fan!) And Josef & Gabe's friendship had been mentioned a couple of times throughout the series, well they are a rather rare duo... Which always had my mind wondering how a friendship like that was forged. Well no need to wonder now - my greedy little brain now has all the answers I had sought.
This instalment of the series took us right back to when Josef found Gabe almost dead and took him back home.. Against his better judgement and helped him to recover.. and a friendship bond was formed.
A big thank you to A.K. Michaels for this glimpse into the duo's life before Peri. I thoroughly enjoyed the story!

Fabulous background to an awesome story!!
After reading Sabrina's Vampire and the rest of the series including The Wolf, The Witch and The Vampire series I always wondered how Josef and Gave met, and this certainly answered any question I had with how they met and what happened to make them so close. I loved their story and even though I knew what happened to them afterwards I still didn't want this book to end!! So if you haven't read the previously named books make sure as soon as you finish this book you read them too, they are awesome books worth every penny!!! I loved this book and I am very happy Ava took the time to write it!!! I highly recommend this book and the whole series, you will be very happy you read them all, I know I am!!!

Loved this book I had forgotten how much I loved these two men!! Ava did a great job with letting us see how these unlikely couple started out. It was FUNNY I was laughing so much through this. I also loved that we get to see through the long history of them all the way up to Sin city where we meet them in the first place. If you Loved the series of WWV then you will enjoy this one as well the Ancient Vamp and the Cheeky Wolf are a great read. I would love to read more of them and will take every piece Ava throws at us.

Pouting and a little disappointed
Now don't get me wrong with the title because I did love the writing, I just wish there would have been more to the story. Something about their time together. I did notice they had not been together as long as I assumed. I just think there was more to their story than was told and I would have loved to hear more about it.

A great addition to an excellent series Absofrigginglutely loved it, bought it, couldn't wait to read it and couldn't put it down until I'd finished it. I've totally Loved learning fully how Josef & Gabe met and reading how their close friendship unfolds, and the banter between them was infectious. I was happy to see some friendly characters in the story as well

This novella is a great fun read that tells the story of how Gabe, a young wolf and Josef, an ancient vampire first met. This unlikely pair share a deep bond and it was great seeing how that came about.

This was a great fun read, and very hot. I've enjoyed the series and this novella is just a great addition, and it's nice to add to the story of how they met and explain a little of the bond and friendship that they share.
After I'd finished, I just wan't to start the series again. Great characters. A great book!

I have loved everything about this series and was so glad to learn about the story of Gabe & Josef's friendship! I just could not put this book down and finished it in about an hour! I had been sorry to see this original story end and this bonus book just made me feel like I was back in with old friends. I absolutely can not wait to see what is next from A.K. Michaels!

Sadly, a bit short.
Although this is a good story, the asking price, (for only six chapters) is just too high a price to pay for people to continue reading the remains series If they are equally as short. Perhaps Amazon need to have a rethink regarding pricing so its readers could finish the tale at a decent price.

I found this novel just as good as the other three, it helps to understand the background to Jo and Gabe and the foundations of their friendship.

This was by no means enthralling but it was great to see the backstory of how Gabe & Josef met. There is still some mystery, as Josef never really knows 'why'. The banter and the development of their friendship was a quick, easy read.

My thoughts
(Read by my husband) This was a good book but I would have liked more SUBSTANCE to it. It did not have as much action in it as the other books did. It definitely left you wanting more.
