My son loves Pokémon and wants to borrow all the books from the library. Ours had this one and a few others in this “series.” This is the second one we read, but I don’t think we will be reading others.
This is obviously some kind of self-published work. It needs some serious editing. I know it’s a diary of a Pokémon, but some basic grammar, punctuation, and capitalization would be appreciated. It should have been called “The Diary of a Grumpy Rowlet.” Also, if you’re going to use specific names of Pokémon repeatedly throughout the book you could at least spell it correctly.
I get this poor Rowlet is sad and lonely. But the negative and nasty tone is not appropriate for children. The worst? The words “damnedest” and “r*tard.” So not appropriate for children.
