Humanity saw it coming, but where can you go to hide from the sun?
People tried, but as the world turned, so did its inhabitants. Most of humanity simply disappeared, they were the lucky ones. The survivors were changed, twisted, transformed. Some became like the walking dead while others turned into beings only heard of in stories.
The moon shattered under the heavenly assault. Some of its fragments fell to earth and took on a vibrant glow, as if they had captured some of the power that had destroyed them. And as a final slap in the face for humanity, electricity stopped flowing. Civilization ground to a halt. Of the few survivors, two stood out. Dawn and Donovan. Twins in blood only, Dawn looked for peace, but Donovan cared for himself above all. And in this world he now had more power than he knew what to do with. But like all who quest for power, sometimes just when you think you have everything you could ever want, someone comes along to take it all away. And keeping your enemies close means you have to always watch for the blade in the night.
i loved it! i loved the changes to the characters after The Event, the super powers, the outlook to their new world and the many events they must face. however, some advice to the author, you did a couple times jump from first person to 3rd person, however if you were to change the part that was 1st person into the prologue i could understand that. other than that it had heaps of potential the characters built up perfectly and the story kept you interested when the weird and eventfull times were ahead. keep up the good work
I enjoyed this story and was always wanting to know what happened next. I got held up in the middle of the book because of other things in my life making me not have time to read for awhile. It was in no way a reflection on the book and it's pull to finish it.
I loved the way the way new information kept cropping up little by little. I enjoyed this way of story telling better than everything happening at once and the characters fighting their way out of it. I think it built the suspense and think it is what compelled to keep reading and wanting to know more.
There were some sad parts, but I think these are things that make a great story. There were some characters and things they did that made me want to scream, but again it is things like this that make a great story.
That being said, I did notice a few editing errors, or parts in which the grammar wasn't exactly the same as how I would have learned it in the US. However, I know that the author lives in Canada, so this may be the reason for some of the slight differences. These weren't enough to detract from the story, I just changed it in my head as I read it, so that it made sense to me.
I don't really want to sit here and pick apart every thing I liked and disliked individually because I don't want to leave any spoilers in this review. I just urge others to read it because you won't regret it!!!
I also can't wait for the next one. Remember how I said the author introduces new story pieces little by little. He left one new piece that keeps me craving to know more right at the very end of this one!
Four stars because it was a good read. I"m into apocalyptic stories and shy away from stories with magic or mystical themes. My assumption was this another story in the genre I enjoyed. I was rather diselusioned when I came across power moon stones and werewolves. Other than that, it was very entertaining and worth the time.
This was a decent story, but it was rendered almost unreadable by the multitudes of misspellings, homonym and homophone misuses, and just awkward sentence structure. The editors and proofreaders should be flogged with rusty barbed wire, as should the author for letting it be put on Amazon in this shape.
Your story was very entertaining, sadly the incorrect word choices, misspellings, improper punctuation, and simple typographical errors made it a struggle to get through.
