Marie Franklin set up her veterinary practice in tiny Weaver’s Circle to hide her association to one of the biggest names in rock and roll. Helping Will Perkins with his rescue puppy is a great in and falling for him is better. But this puppy is one of the Bachelor Party Rescue Puppies and Marie’s cover is about to be blown.
Ill mannered puppies, lethal vegetables, and unwanted fame
Born in Northeast Ohio, Christa has lived on four different continents (including both sides of Asia)and traveled extensively. She has an extremely elaborate fantasy life and has been known to forget that the bands she made up don't exist to the extent that she has shopped for their albums on iTunes.
This is another cute story in the Weaver's Circle series. It too involves one of the puppies from the bachelor party. The puppy goes through most of the story without a name and part of the story revolves around that detail. There are secrets kept by the new local veterinarian, Dr. Marie Franklin, who is trying to fit into the small town without people knowing her full identity. I enjoyed the story although I was not ready for the story to end. I want to check out the other stories in this series too. If you like pets and romance you will enjoy this book! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
My third read from author Christa Maurice, Rescuing Jack. Christa Maurice in just 3 books has become one of my favorite authors, in fact I went out & bought Mistletoe Kisses just because it’s the only place to get her book Celebrating Flora. Extremely well written, the characters, well developed. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make a reader get invested into the characters and thereby the book.
I did like Rescuing Jack, mostly, but just was not impressed.
Marie (Tiffany?) seems to not know who the main character male is when she meets him, then suddenly she knows who he is, then the next day or so, is clueless to who he is when she meets him again. The shift several times from Marie to Tiffany back to Marie just was too confusing. Never sure what name someone was going to call her.
Also, the whole 3-4 names for the puppy before finally giving her a name at the end just felt too contrived.
I really wanted to like this one more, but didn't.
I voluntarily review an Advanced Reader Copy of this book
This is a cute srory between Marie and Will. They both live in a small town. Marie is a vet and an outsider, she feels the people in the town doesn't like her especially when she have to deliver bad news about their pet. Will is a mechanic and recently have a pet, one night his puppy ran away. But Marie old life have came up and she not sure what to do especially when Will decided not to speak with her again
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I am a little mixed on this. While the base of the story was good. I was totally confused as to who was who at times. The author did put a list of her books with the names and the series they belong to as well as the year they occur. I didn't find that helpful as I couldn't locate the names for the couples that I was looking for. While the premise is good (and I want to read more in the series) this one was just okay to me.
I love romances with animals that are part of the story. If you have or have had a puppy, you can imagine how the story goes. My strong woman is here and in a small town. This is a new-to-me author and can’t wait to read more of her books.
