Well this was the third book in the series, and it was an improvement over the prior 2 books. The series is only very loosely connected, by the way. This book had some of the characters from the previous books, but they were not very integral to this story. The improvements were much better proof-reading and editing, though this wasn’t yet perfect. I could at least mostly keep reading without getting pulled out of the story by bad sentence structure or use of the wrong words. Yet again, the story was more complicated than one might expect, and it kept me reading.

This is book 3 in the series and like the first 2 books, the author keeps you guessing if our characters are going to get a happily ever after right up until the end.

Riley is sort of a mysterious character that is introduced in book 2. This story belongs to Riley and his mate Oriana. There are various chapters told from other character's points of view, like the vampire king and his mate. The ending leaves the series open for more books, either from Samuel and his mate or a character that is introduced at the very end.

I hope to see more from this series as it's an enjoyable read

This is the third story in the Kings series,Heartless is the third book by Alanea Des. The book allows us to take a journey through time to read this couple's story of love it's being told to us readers by more than the one characters perspectives. So after reading the Heartless you will want to read the next book in the series. Heartless is the third book of this series and it totally changes the rules. This paranormal story has everything a reader will want to read. The story is full of drama, humor, excitement and it features The Goddesses,Angels, Devil, Vampries, Feroxes, Demons, Witches, Warlock, Shifters and last a Time Traveler. The story is about Riley and Oriana loves journey. Riley is the son of The Sex Goddess,he is the Angel of Deception and his sister is The Angel of Death, so we can just imagine who his father is. I enjoyed Riley's character he is funny and loves to throw caution to the wind, he likes to joke and deceive everyone but his deeds always catches up with him. Riley has another problem his heart is being held by the devil, which is making him lose his soul slowly, so Riley has run from the Underworld, but in order to survive needs constant he needs sex to sustain his body. Then he meets Oriana and he start's to feel. Oriana is a vampire living with humans and she is a time traveler WOW it's a good thing she doesn't drink human blood, her brother is the Vampire King. From the time Riley first met Oriana she was determined not to like him because he isn't her type she likes men with gentler souls, loving, romantic, brings flowers, likes poetry and is soft spoken everything that Riley is not.Riley and Oriana are both on the run and what better place to hide than with humans. This story has a magical feel to it and I enjoyed all of Alena Des characters they are exciting and fantastic. Which no one can complain about this story being predictable, the romance and passion is so compelling, the story is well written, with a great pace and flow. The dialogue between the main characters is awesome. I laugh out loud a few times and I had a smile on my face as I finish reading this book, I totally recommend this book. I received a ACR copy from Inkitt exclusive for a honest review,

Heartless is the third book in the King Series, written by Alena Des. I started reading this book without realizing it was actually the third book in this series.

My first take on the book was not very good. The beginning of the book was somewhat poorly written with editorial errors but more importantly with the main character Riley being very unlikable. Riley basically uses his power to manipulate women for his needs, not very charming especially if you consider he is supposed to be the hero of this book! He is rather stalker-ish which was a huge turn off, I get it for the sake of the story, but couldn't that have been toned down some? And what is with his nick names for Oriana??
Riley did grow on me somewhat, but all considering he was still not the greatest main character I have read to date. He is beyond arrogant and very non-blase about things, plus he uses women a lot. Thankfully he went through some character development so by the end of the book he is at least somewhat likeable.

Oriana on the other hand was a very likable character and you can't help but cheer for her. She will do everything for the people she cares for and stops at nothing. She even tolerates Riley and let's face it that is not an easy feat! How she manages her special skill is beyond me without loosing her sanity!

I have to admit the plot is a tad out there to say the least but it was thought through and the author managed to make it cohesive, which is not easy considering she integrated Oriana's special gift, and no I don't give away spoilers. The pace was actually pretty good. There were spots where my had was spinning so much was happening, but I didn't feel rushed, which is great. There definitely was never a moment where the story was dragging out, that's for sure!

All in all this book was good but could have done with less stupid nick names and less stalker behavior. I really enjoyed the second book, The Warlock's Nemesis, so in comparison I this one fell a little flat for me.

Voluntary review of Advance Reader Copy. I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher.

Reading all the 3 books totally worth it... 😂😂😍😍😍 This is my second favorite well the first one is my favorite.. 😉😉😉 I really don't know how Alena manage to connect all the 3 stories with the twist and turns in the story!!! 😘😘 It's totally mind blowing.. I'm totally inlove with the story.... 😍😍😍 It's just awesome!! ( You have to tell me how you did all of that though 😉😉) ....I really don't know what to say!! I think I already wrote all the good comments in the past two series I've read...
Heartless is just simply amazing!!!! 😁😁😁😁 I've been waiting to read Riley's story ever since I've read the teaser on Wattpad... Well at first you will be a little lost because of the sudden change in scenario but later on I found out that it's oriana's power to travel in the future... I'm really lost in that part... I think I've read it 10x before moving on the next one... 😂😂😂 ( I know.. I'm just making sure I'm reading it right... Can't blame me if I get too attached in the story 🤔🤔🤔) and I really really really really love Riley's smexy!!😉😉😉, Cocky, bad boy attitude... Oh oh oh oh and I do love how frustrating he gets when he can't get oriana... 🤣🤣🤣 I really love when i get to the part of story when men suddenly fall from their all mighty self to a love sick puppy over girls... (Hihihihihi😁😁😁 I know I'm evil.. but men nowadays are cocky bastard, it's hard to find people like Riley especially when he's a good looking guy😭😭😭) anyways the story is worth it!!!!! If I get to rate it.. out of 10 it's gonna be 100 for me.. 💪💪😁😁😁... And top of all... I like all of it because women dominate all... GIRL POWER 😉😍😎😎😎😎💪💪....
Real talk....
Women are much better.... (If u don't like it ..suck it up... It's my opinion, I have my freedom of speech 💪)..
.
I'm waiting for the story of riana too.. 😉😉😉

Happy I came across this great read. Kings Series Book 3: Heartless by Alena Des is definitely my kind of story. I love everything vampires, but this brought a new element with the addition of an angel of deception. The angel, Riley, is also the son of a sex goddess so he’s used to having women fall all over him, which I have to admit grated on me in the beginning. I was actually glad when Oriana pushed him away, though like most men who think they are God’s gift to women, he didn’t give up, taking her on as a challenge. Thankfully, Riley has a good reason for why he’s like this, so I could forgive him the rough beginning.

The beginning of the story caught and held my interest. I liked seeing how Riley and Oriana’s relationship developed. I enjoyed the confusion brought by her ability to time travel and the problems it brought for both of them. You have to pay attention in the story to keep track of what’s going on when timelines get changed, so it’s not just a mindless read.

The reason why I only give it four instead of five stars is because the plot gets a little distorted later in the book. We start following too many points of view and it gets muddled. I would have definitely given this five stars if the author had revolved the story around just Riley and Oriana. If you like vampires, you’ll like this one. It’s the third in a series but works great as a standalone. I haven’t read the first two and didn’t have any trouble keeping up.

Heartless (The Kings #3) by Alena Des was an interesting change for me, from the usual vampire fare. This story is so much more than that, mixing several different styles of magic and fantasy. Riley is a man on a mission - to regain his heart, that Lucifer has seized from him. When Riley, who is the son of a sex Goddess and used to woman swooning at his feet, meets Oriana, he is enchanted by her and shocked at his inability to make her lust after him as most women do. Together they form a formidable team as they battle to survive in the midst of a Vampire war and the relentless hunt of Lucifer for Riley.
I was captivated by the characters in this story. I especially liked Oriana, as a female lead, who was strong, independent and successful, but still a woman, in every way. I thought author Des did a marvelous job of weaving different strands of the story together into a single narrative. I'm assuming, since this is noted as The Kings #3, that this is a series, but you certainly wouldn't be able to tell that just from reading this book. It is a standalone and thoroughly readable story in its own right. Perhaps the best tribute I can pay to this author is to say how seamlessly she melded the different strands of magic and fantasy together into a single story. I can highly recommend this read and am definitely motivated to check out other books in this series and by this author.

Heartless (King Series #2) by Alena Des Review
What do you do when you don't have a heart?

Treason has consequences and Riley knows them all too well. He has betrayed Lucifer and now he is on the run. As an Angel of Deception and the son of The Sex Goddess, Riley has always been reckless; and it’s finally catching up with him. With his heart encaged by the devil himself, he is slowly losing his soul, but when he meets Oriana something in him stirs. Used to women falling all over him, Riley becomes captivated when she is able to resist his charm. The unlikely pair is thrust together while murder, intrigue, and mayhem run amok during a newly raging Vampire war. Can these two souls save each other in a world that’s crumbling around them?

What did I like? This the second book that I have read in this series and I love the way the author writes… She is direct and to the point with no fluff in her descriptions and she gives lots of details without overloading you.

What are you going to like? This is going to be a good series, with lots of twists and the intrigue will keep you glued to the pages. The characters are interesting and very developed. The storyline has lots of action, mystery, humor, romance and a little sex. I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next addition. I received this from the author’s publisher for an honest review.

Holly smokes that was one Hell of a book. This series just
gets better and better. The books are so well-written and
expertly thought out. It truly is an amazing read.

This is the third book by Alena and it promises so much more
to come. This is Riley’s story and hoe he meets his mate
Orianna. She is one though ass women. I will not tell you too
much about her. Because there is a whole lot of fun in finding
out what she is as Riley dose. But the things she can do.
Man they are something else. And we get to meet Tannon
and Alice's kids in this book too. And you are so going to love
them. There is one thing he needs to tell her. Lucifer holds
something real important to him. Well 2 things but he does
not know that till near the end. I laughed so much reading
this book. When they meet it was priceless. When she is
captured and he has to save her it was so funny keyword
here paperclip. Just wait till you read the book.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book,
please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it
when you do; they value your opinions too

Heartless is a book with so much heart you won't want to put it down. Another great addition to the Kings Series, Alena Des' books just keep getting better and better. Riley is a troubled but endearing main character and Oriana is honest, complex and fascinating, his equal in every sense. Their relationship develops in a believable way with just enough heat to keep things fun, while the complicated situation they find themselves in the middle of is riveting, with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved brief appearances of characters from previous books, and the tension of knowing one of the characters in Heartless was betraying them and working with Nero. I loved that Riley and Oriana were still in the process of developing and learning about their powers. so many intricate little touches make Heartless unforgettable. I couldn't stop reading and I can't wait for the next installment. All three books in the series have amazing characters and are woven together with great imagination, strong plots, and a sense of playfulness that make them captivating, suspenseful and fun to read. Highly recommended.

I loved Riley in Warlock's Nemesis and was so excited that he got his own book. But this book wasn't his alone.
If the author wanted to a book about the vampires then this should have been that book. Sam and Diana's book could have introduced us to Oriana and her meeting Riley. But there should only be 1 mate pair per book. The vamp have a lot of drama going on in their compound and it took away from Riley's story.
There were too many characters to keep up with. There were vamps that randomly showed up and disappeared. Also we got no closure on the Ferox issue or Nero.
Riley deserved his own book to meet and win his mate. The journey to Hell and Lucifer deserved so much more time. Riley got 2 things he wanted more than anything but we didn't get to explore them enough.
Oriana's time travel was confusing and irritating. I felt like the author should have given us a clue as to where we were in time in the chapter title.
Overall this is a good story but I think the author needs to split Riley from the vamps and give both a good story.
Loved the series and love Riley.

Riley is an "Angel of Deception and the son of The Sex Goddess" . He reckless and kind of a jerk. I was really glad he got a bit of his own medicine. He is fighting to keep him soul, and it's not an easy battle. He's falling in love or lust with Oriana, and she's just as head strong as he is. Plus while he's fighting to keep his soul from being sucked away, a minor inconvenience like a HUGE vampire war is going on and they have to try to stay alive. Action packed with lots of supernatural fun, plus a little romance to boot. I really enjoyed the read. This is part of a series and I cannot wait for the next. I really enjoyed this book, it kept me guessing the entire time. Just when I though I knew what was going to happen, it would suddenly move to the opposite. I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review, but honestly I had planned to get it anyway, since I had read the others. Definitely recommended!!

I have read this series from the beginning and I must say Alena Des has written a fantastic series that has captured everything you would think to be in a fantasy and much more.
Heartless is slow in the beginning and I thought the story line to be a bit boring but it builds to be a fantastic book and the ending leaves a bit of a cliffhanger. I am hoping this story continues as it did suddenly end.
The first installment is still my favourite but I like how each story intertwined with each other. You must read these books in order to understand some of the characters and storyline.

A winning addition to The Kings Series by Alena Des!!!

I have been a fan of Alena's for a while and love this series. This addition features one of my favorite characters. Riley, the heartless son of the Goddess of Sex, and the maybe son of Lucifer himself!!! Riley is insatiable, witty and totally incorrigible. Long story short, he's running from Hell, Lucifer has his heart and he meets the one woman who seem immune to his charm. So why can't he forget her??? Oriana is the sister of Samuel the late King of the Vampires and has issues of her own. She can jump through time, but she can't control it and she needs to because meeting Riley sets off a chain of events that could end life as we know it!!!! Oh and Riley keeps trying to convince her that she wants him, as if.....well, okay, yeah she does!!! Lots of twists and turns and plenty of Riley!!! A definite must read!!!!

It's a story of a naughty angel of deception and a vampire. I assure you that you will enjoy reading it coz the story will turn you upside down and will give you a lot of thinking. Sometimes you will react impulsively while you are reading. Hate the other character that sometimes you want to beat them yourselves coz they really get on your nerves. Maybe you will feel lost too along the way. Haha! But at the end...you will really love the flow and the main characters that you will also want this to have a second book! Truly! Warlock, the Werewolf King and Heartless. It's awesome when you read all of this series, they're connected and how the author did this. Well, ask yourself. But dont forget to read all of this and you will understand what im talking about!:)

OMG Awesome Read

Okay I have to say I think this is the absolute best read ever!!!! How can book 3 of a series be as good, if not better then the first.

In the 2nd book you meet Riley. He’s even more amazing in his own. What a character!!!!! He meets Oriana, and man buckle your seat belt because the ride will throw you off the roller coaster.

Tannon is back as well as Alice and their kids. Gotta say it was good to see them intertwined with Riley. This author doesn’t skip a beat.

The ending.......... man, I take pride in figuring out what’s going to happen next usually, but.... this was insane!!!!!! Loved it.

Again I won’t review by telling you the reader what happens. I’ll let you read it for yourself!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This was my favorite part in the series. That was due in large part to Oriana. She was such a strong character, it was impossible not to adore her. I loved that she didn’t just fall at Riley’s feet, which would have been easy to do considering who his parents were and what his special abilities included. Of course her lack of interest in him, fueled his desire for her and lead to some hilarious and hot passages.

The plot that went on aside from the romance was also fantastic. Questions filled my head from the start and as the answers came I was surprised and impressed with the story. The word is rich, the details are vivid and the dialogue is snappy.

While this can be read on its own, as all of the parts can, I recommend the whole series to fans of PNR and eagerly await the next part.

With the son of a sex goddess and the Devil himself as the lead, this is a deliciously steamy romp from the first words and yet, it’s so much more. As an Angel (or Demon, take your pick), Riley is irresistible, of course, but I was pleased to see him meet his match in a woman who didn’t tumble at his feet the moment he set his incredible gaze on her. Her mysterious history and resistance leads to an irresistible magnetism between the characters that ultimately turns steam into romance as you learn more about them. Author Des covers all her bases with this one: Steam, Wit, Action, fantastical creatures and settings, as well as unexpected Thrills that keep you turning page after page. No wonder I devoured this in a weekend!

This book was defiantly exciting and action-packed from start to finish. Heartless is the third book in the Kings series by Alanea Des. This is the first one I have read and it can be read as a stand-alone.
Riley is the son of a Sex Goddess and an Angel of Deception. He is an "absent" hearted sexy jerk that can have his way with almost any woman. Then there is Oriana, she's a classy humanized vampire in hiding from her own past. From the start of the book, the story is strong and the characters are believable, likeable and well put together. Easy reading until the story starts spinning off in different directions, but it doesn't bring the story down at all, Just takes a little more effort to keep up. I am looking forward to reading more from Alanea Des.

A Smoking-Hot Paranormal Romance

In this third book of the series, super-sexy Riley, an Angel with the ability to create powerful Deceptions, struggles to win the heart and body of Oriana, a hot beauty who constantly resists him – and also regain his own heart, captured by Lucifer.

Riley and Oriana time travel, get caught up in a Vampire War, and journey to Hell to confront Lucifer and rescue Riley’s mother, who is a Sex Goddess. They have to deal with many fights, perils, and adventures as they try to remain true to each other and the family members they love.

A complex story with plenty of twists and turns, including a memorable confrontation with Lucifer in Hell. And there’s a lot of tension in the romance between Riley and Oriana, which makes their love story more satisfying.

Couldn't put it down once I started reading. The author really gets you involved and thinking in this book.. It child very well be a take on a paranormal murder mystery. It was creative and made you feel like you where there trying to figure out the puzzle when bam something changes on you. The only thing I could have asked for more was more of the beginning half where the heroine and hero had conflict with there romantic ties. This book is for mature audiences only. As an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock I am giving this book 5 hearts. I look forward to searching for more books from this author.

This is an extremely spicy read with a lot going on in the story line. There was a lot of extremely sensual moments, for those who need warming on cold nights. lol. I hadn't read the first two books in the series, but I thought that for being the third book in the series it made it semi easy to keep up with the characters, and root for Riley and Oriana to get together, besides the fact that Riley is a jerk and totally full of himself. For jumping back and forth between a few characters, and providing the history of said characters, I thought it was a spicy supernatural read. :D

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Another great book by Alena Des. This is the third book in the King series and they just keep getting better. Filled with adventure, action, drama and love. The stories are well written, interesting and intriguing. They blend together as if one long story. The characters are so realistic you could almost believe that this whole series was in fact a true collection of real stories. A must have for anyone's reading or for their library.

I didn’t read Book #1 and #2. But, I quickly got into the Book, Heartless The Kings #3. I think this book is delivering a great allure to young adults; they will enjoy it very much on bed with smiles and snickers from hearts. Also I read some good sentences between men and women. If you have a special ability to get into others’ dreams, what would you want to do on their beds? Would you like to be that kind creature? Yes! It’s an interesting part of this book, besides werewolves, vampires, angel of deception, and sex.

This book took me forever to read. At first, Heartless started off really slow and I didn’t really find it that interesting but then when Orianna and Riley really started getting involved with each other, it started to get interesting.
What comes to the characters, I really liked them and I really liked that Elijah had such a big role in the book for such a little kid. I also really liked Riley and all that he did, and his sexual humor and everything.
All in all, this book was really good, it just took me a while to really get started with it.

Action-packed, sexy read!!

This book has action, romance and a generous sprinkling of humour! I loved Riley from The Warlock’s Nemesis, and was super excited for his story! His love interest, Ori and her “gift” (I won’t ruin it for you 😉) brought a unique and surprising element to the story that had me hooked. I could not flip the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen next.

Absolutely loved it! It left me thinking there may be a fourth book (pretty please) which I cannot wait to jump into.

My KU review
Wow. Talk about being able to travel in time and try not to become lost at the same time. I enjoyed reading this third book in the Kings Series Boxed Set: Books 1 – 3. Feeling for the sexy and broken Riley with his heart on the line. Taking time out for a while and hoping to live long enough to enjoy what little time he has left. Until he comes across the delectable Oriana. All Riley has to do is work out what species she is and to convince her she belongs in his bed. A recommended read.

This fantasy certainly presents a different world, one of angels and demons and vampires. A heart is kept by Lucifer and a soul is withering; can choices help to mend the past and the future?

A good cast of characters make this story believable, and told from varying points of view create a depth of feeling so to give a richness to events.

It is well-written and even though I prefer stories without explicit sex scenes, I suppose they did suit this kind of story, baring in mind the characters.

Some twists and turns and its fast pace make this a tale that would be enjoyed by lovers of this genre.
