Graves #3

Revolution

Rate this book
The revolution didn't begin with Daria Novotny.

But she damn well intends to finish it.

A retaliatory strike by Ardica City's corrupt military leaves Graves splintered and near-defeated. The survivors must attempt to make good their escape and rescue those still trapped on the city-ship. With leaders who are desperately faking it in hopes of making it, while friendships unravel and hope falters, the odds are stacked against them.

When they realize the mainland is even more dangerous than the city, the only choice for Graves is to make a stand, before Ardica's self-appointed dictator sacrifices half the city—including family and loved ones—all in the name of winning a war that hasn't even started…

Young adult and new adult (and adult) fans of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Maze Runner will enjoy this Shadowrun-like action and adventure thriller!

I'm so bummed to see the story of Daria and the Graves to end.

While there were of course moments that I started to frown at, I.E Gideon's anger at Daria, Most of the character of Val (Some part of him was just so difficult to enjoy reading), There was definately a lot I loved about the final book.

Gideon. Even though her anger (well deserved imo) was burning through the entirety of the book, Gid became one of my favorites even more so in this final installment. I loved seeing her cockiness return, as well as more Seven x Gid moments.

Alex. Oh Alex, how have you redeemed yourself in my eyes since book one. Not even the sacrifice, but the history and personality he showed. His love of Gid, worry over it, the reason him and Val have such a history. He went from a character than was background for me, to easily one of the top characters.

The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5, is the fact the climax or fighting sequences left something to desire. We barely got to see much of the last 'fight' except hearing Gid replay it verbally to her companions, and what small sequence we got in the main room with Seven's mother.

Overall, I love this series. I love Gid. I love Daria. But I'm so sad it ended so quick.
