April has another winning book. She never disappoints me with her writing. She has an amazing gift that she willingly shows in her writing.
Lauren and Michael are high school sweethearts. Lauren has an abusive stepfather and it truly shows up when he's been drinking. Michael tries to protect her from her stepfather and stepbrother but one morning when Michael came to pickup Lauren for school he witnessed her getting slapped across the face. Michael goes after her abuser and starts beating him. Michael then ends up in juvenile detention.
While there Lauren tries to visit him but he refuses to see her. She is constantly writing letters but he never returns any off them. When Michael gets out he refuses to let himself get involved with Lauren because he feels she deserves better than him. He ends up getting involved with a Motorcycle Club and winds up in and out of jail. After he takes the fall for another club member he decides to go legit and buys a mechanical shop. He also leaves the Motorcycle Club.
Lauren in the meantime gets a scholarship to college and continues to search for Michael her first love. She happens to have car trouble one morning and when the tow truck shows up to check her car he tells her it will have to go to a shop. When Lauren goes to check on her car she is blown away by seeing Michael again. She is so excited until he pushes her away saying he doesn't want anything from her and that he doesn't care about her. She storms out driving off extremely upset when she is hit by a car which lands her in the hospital. When she comes to she finds Michael waiting for her to wake up. She is confused to why he's there if he doesn't care about her but he informs her that he thinks someone is trying to kill her.
Will Lauren let Michael protect her, will the people who are wanting her dead succeed, will Michael's past come back to hurt them or will it be hers? Can they trust each other again and will the fall back in love again?
I received this book as an ARC copy for a voluntarily honest review. I recommend anyone who likes twists and turns to read this book. There are a lot of different variables that make this a wonderful book to read.

Sexy second-chance love story with an intriguing storyline!
I received an Advance Reader Copy for Take Me Deeper written by April Lust and voluntarily reviewed this book. Lauren Robertson had only one person she could count on back in high school, and that was Michael DiMarco. He was his bodyguard, someone who had her back when she had to deal with her stepfamily, gifted to her by her mother who still couldn’t seem to make good choices. One morning, Michael defended Lauren from her stepbrother and got thrown into juvie, taking them from each other for a good few years until she ended up in his shop where her beater of a car was towed to get fixed.
Lauren couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Michael again. She had missed him so much that she went looking for him and ended up finding all sorts of trouble instead. Now, it seems he wants nothing to do with her and that was fine with her, until she got injured in a hit and run right outside his shop. What happens next is a series of events that all all somehow connected, and it is up to Lauren and Michael to figure it all out. This was a sexy, hot, & interesting read!

I read this book as part of an arc program. I loved it, I loved Michael and Lauren. This was a second chance romance between high school friends who reunited after seven years and Lauren was in danger she wasn't aware of and Michael came to protect her. When they were in high school, Michael was Lauren's protector against her step father's abuse and went to jail for protecting her from her step brother. Michael kept his distance from Lauren when he got out of jail, but he always watched over her. Lauren finished school and went to college and was about to graduate when her car broke down and was towed to Michael's garage. When Michael tells her he doesn't want to see her, she leaves the garage only to be in an accident. Michael has a feeling the accident was on purpose and sets out to find out who was responsible leading to more danger. This was a great book I really enjoyed, I loved Michael's dominating ways and the way he only wanted to protect Lauren. They had great chemistry and still had strong feelings after all this time. I loved how everyone warned Michael that Lauren was going to be a handful for him and he loved her for it. Great one!
