Suzie has taken over responsibility for placing shifter children with suitable foster parents, while Fiona is on maternity leave. When a shifter baby is abandoned at Bear Bluff Hospital, it is Suzie’s job to ensure she is properly cared for. When Suzie arrives at the hospital, she finds the baby in the safe hands of Kit Malvern. Who tells her he is her mate.
She knows she must resist temptation and focus on her job. However, resisting the good doctor is going to be the biggest challenge of her life.
Dr. Kit Malvern loves kids and has fostered many shifter children for years, as a way of keeping his longing in check. So when a possible shifter baby is abandoned, he is more than willing to take her home and offer her his love and protection. Then he meets the woman tasked with making sure the baby is well cared for, Suzie McLeish, and his world is changed forever.
She is his mate. And he intends to make sure she knows it. But when a cougar shifter comes sniffing around, Kit and Suzie must work together to uncover the secrets that led to a mother abandoning a child. Is it possible to reunite mother and child and lead them to their own happy ever after?
With help from the dragons, they might just find a way. Talking of dragons—maybe there is another baby about to make an appearance in Bear Creek.
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
A rather bland shifter story- not a whole lot of angst, nothing really gripping, despite the summary:
But when a cougar shifter comes sniffing around, Kit and Suzie must work together to uncover the secrets that led to a mother abandoning a child. Is it possible to reunite mother and child and lead them to their own happy ever after?
The so-called "secrets" aren't major at all. I used to really love Harmony Raines shifter stories, but somehow they're just not as interesting as they used to be.
Suzie has been an occasional secondary character throughout this series – she is, after all, Fiona’s supervisor… even though it often seems the reverse. Not too sure how many people actually try to take on Fiona, and I’m thinking most of them would lose, badly. In Doctor Daddy Bear Suzie, a human, will meet the man who is her mate under most unusual circumstances. While Fiona is off on maternity leave waiting for her now overdue baby dragon to make an appearance Suzie has been taking on some of her cases. This time it’s an abandoned baby left in the snowy parking lot of the local hospital. Is the baby a shifter? That’s not known, but suspected given the cougar tracks around where she was found. Not knowing what she’s walking into, Suzie heads out to find the baby and the doctor who is supposedly going to foster her and gets the surprise of her life. Kit immediately knows she’s his mate, the physical and emotional reaction is intense. Yet they have a baby to care for and a blizzard heading their way.
Suzie and Kit have to care for a baby, find a mother who is obviously in trouble and discover each other as mates…. oh, and be on baby dragon watch for Fiona to go into labor. Quite an unusual beginning for this couple.
I loved Doctor Daddy Bear. We get a glimpse into the life of a dedicated doctor and social worker, the chance to finally meet the newest dragon in Bear Creek and help a young mother get a new beginning. And I thought I caught a whiff of a possible romance for two other people, but I don’t know for sure… just a “wonder if they” type of moment. We’ll see if that is a follow through. In any event, should this be the final story in this series it was a simply amazing tale.
I’d highly recommend Doctor Daddy Bear and this series, as well as the connecting series to any Paranormal or Shifter Romance reader. Likable characters, unique situations, steamy moments and really good stories. What’s not to love about all that?
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Another great addition to the Bear Bluff and Bear Creek sagas. This one is about Fiona's supervisor Susie. Since Susie knows about shifters, she is the one that goes to the hospital when a baby that may be a shifter is abandoned. Kit is a pediatric doctor at the hospital where the baby is left. He is also a certified foster parent. He plans on taking the baby home with him. When Susie walks thru the exam room door, he realizes that she is his mate. Susie is a little skittish because she is human. Kit tells her they will take it slow. In the meantime, they try everything they can to find the babies' mother. Follow along with the adventure as they find her and discover why she gave up her child. Also, Fiona is in this story also. The first dragon baby to be born in a while decides to make an appearance. Love reading these short stories. They are all related somehow to the previous storyline, either friend, co-worker, family or someone that needed help. Many stories could be told from this book alone. Looking forward to it!
Kit and Suzie were mates. When Kit first saw Suzie, he nearly fell on the floor in the exam room. He knew from the first look that she was his mate. He was a bear shifter and she was human and she also felt the instant connection. This is an amazing love story, but, with regret, I must register my disappointment in that the author has left me hanging. I didn't know when their wedding was to take place; how Suzie's mom was going to handle being around a lot of people; how Fiona and her mate were handling their newborn son along with their older children; etc. There is enough threads to write a complete continuation book to let the reader know how every thing ends. I hope the author reads this review and writes the next book to complete Kit and Suzie's story.
Another lovely but very complex story of a shifter finally meeting his mate who is not a shifter. He's a pediatrician who short term fosters shifter children in need, she is with social services and covering for the regular shifter who is on maternity leave. The baby who precipitates their meeting has been abandoned at the hospital by her very young mother. Together they work to rescue the young mother from the elements and help her to cope and also to improve her negative self esteem. Just the right length for an interesting positive read!
The latest book in the Return to Bear Creek series, Doctor Daddy Bear features handsome Dr. Kit and Fiona's Supervisor, Suzie. While caring for an abandoned baby, Dr. Kit and Fiona's Supervisor, Suzie discover that they are mates. For Kit, a Bear shifter, the long wait is over. For Suzie, who is human, this will take some getting used to. Meanwhile there's a missing mother to find, a storm to contend with and, Fiona is about to go into labor. I loved this story! Enjoy.
Such a wonderful sweet read. A lovely read that brings Suzie, who we have met before, she is Fiona’s supervisor in Child Protection services. When a baby is abandoned at the local hospital, this brings Suzie into contact with Dr Kit Malvern, a bear shifter with the biggest heart who has been waiting for his mate to come into his life for a long time. Whilst helping out the baby and her mother we also get Fiona going into labour. Read in KU.
Kit is a doctor & bear shifter who takes in foster children to fill the void in his heart. The void that's there because he hasn't found his mate. When Suzie, a social worker, walks into the hospital to help an abandoned baby Kit knows she's his mate. The lovely, heartfelt story that results is wonderful. Add in cougar, bear and, even, Dragon shifters and you get a fun, rewarding story.
8th book in the series and still a very riveting series. Kit is the doc of Bear Creek and also a foster parent. When Fiona takes a leave of absence due to her pregnancy Suzie, her boss, has to take on her cases. Will she take on more than she can handle or will fate step up and show her how it is suppose to be done. Great book and love how she always brings the characters together from other books.
I originally started off worth the sample and decided that was good enough. I purchased every last book in the series and read them in the order listed by the author. It is a stand alone, you don’t need to, but it was nice finding the stories of the other characters mentioned and following past the love story of a book finished. I love that this one focused on fostering and its importance.
I love this series. Each can be read as stand-alones but characters do cross over. Kit took in foster kids when needed. Being a Doctor he tended to be aroun when the need arose. Suzie worked for Social Services. Going to the hospital to check on an abandoned baby she meets Kit and there is something about him that draws her in. Kit knew as soon as he saw Suzie that he had met his mate.
Suzie is a social service manager filling in for one of her workers, who is out on maternity leave, when she gets a call about an abandoned bay. Kit happens to be the doctor on duty and is also a foster care parent able to take the baby in. Things get interesting when Kit realizes that Suzie is his mate. It is a warm tale of love and acceptance with a dash of passion tossed in. 💞💖💞
This book was lovely, it told a story about shifters that find there mate's and the love they feel ,but this time his mate is human but she knows about shifters and just as happy. The good doctor fosters a new born baby , and she works for social services and together they find the baby's mum,and much more Harmony Raines spins a great story .I highly recommend you read it.
I have read all the previous books of this series and I love them all!!! They are slow paced than what I normally read but so entertaining. You get to know what both sides are felling and going through getting to know them at the same time. Really enjoyable and I definitely recommend it.
Once again Ms. Raines has done it. I love these series that she has written. This woman is talented and it shows in every book I read. I don't want to give anything away so I say just read it but start from the first book so you will know everyone. You won't regret it even a family member of mine that hates paranormal books loves this writer.
Kit nearly goes to his knees when Suzie walks into the room. Suzie is at the hospital to check up on a abandoned baby when she meets Kit the baby's Dr. The two find instant chemistry plus look into finding the baby's mom. Fiona and Harlan get their big day with their baby.
Suzie McLeish is Fiona's human supervisor, but now she has to take her place until Fiona has her baby. Responding to the hospital in Bear Creek regarding an abandoned baby, who was suspected of being a shifter, she meets Pediatrician, and bear shifter, Dr Kit Malvern and the adventure begins! Lovely story as usual. This entire series is amazing!
Wow I love reading Harmony Raines new books.. As soon as I got the email telling me this book was out.. I dropped the book I was reading and read hers. Thank you for an AWESOME read..
I love these books they make you feel all warm and fuzzy. It's great to escape to a place where everyone cares about everyone else. Through in a dragon family for little added excitement and you've got a good read.
Harmony always writes a great story but this one was amazingly heart felt. The story had great sadness and joy all wrapped up with a HEA. It was just a wonderful human story to read. I hope Elizabeth get her book next.
This book is a little bit different than the others, but still based on the same genera. This book is more on helping others besides each other. Kit is a doctor & Suzie work at social services, they meet over a baby & fall in love.
I enjoyed the story. Wonder HEA. The storyline was interesting and evenly paced. The characters were dynamic. The storyline was a bit different. It was an interesting twist on things. Fits beautifully in the series.
Loved the storyline and characters hoping there more in this series as it's hard to put down so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
Kindle Unlimited standalone in shifter series. She needs to place this kid in a home that understands her potential needs. He's a doctor who often takes in kids. Their worlds collide to make an AWSOME story!
Loved this! Another great book in the series by the author. Very well written with very memorable characters. There is sexual content. If you love shifters, this is for you.
Dr. Daddy Bear Kit was a fun read to kick back with on a chilly day. Suzie is a caring social worker who is tasked with placing a child and realizing she is someone's mate.
Love stories like this series. Ones that have a different couple falling in love but still let you read about the characters that we love. Fiona is still my favorite.
I really enjoyed this story. It pulled in previous characters from the earlier books in the series and made it feel welcoming. Two different stories merged to bring the book together.
This was a great book to read because it dealt with abandonment. It touched on a teen mom and her baby. Yes it had drama and suspense from the beginning to the end. The romance between two other people was excellent as well.
