This is definitely one of my new favourite fantasy series. It's a refreshingly new and different look at fantasy literature. I don't even mean having LGBTQ characters in it (which is great), but the presentation and pacing on the story is something I've only ever seen done with this series. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Unlike the other Prism Knights volume I read (#6), this felt like it had a stronger beginning, middle, and end structure. We begin with a knight breaking into a tower to kill a witch and steal the loot, and while the story does take us on a lot of twists and emotional turns, the weight of the story and the characters' arcs are a little more well defined here.
I cannot wait to read more of these. (Side note, just as this story has no proper order, neither do my reviews.)
