More authors. More stories. The same bestselling universe.
It’s the Twenty-Second Century. Humanity has taken its first steps into the galaxy, and we’ve found ourselves in a vast playground of alien races, environments, and cultures. As the newest players on the universal stage, though, our position is readily apparent—we’re at the bottom of the food chain.
Welcome back to the Four Horsemen universe, where only a willingness to fight and die for money separates Humans from the majority of the other races. While some of the stories inside deal with mercenaries, others introduce readers to the other guilds, organizations, and races that make up the landscape of the Four Horsemen universe, and many of them provide background information to the mainline novels. There’s even a new form of life to get acquainted with and a look at alien interaction at its youngest level!
Edited by bestselling authors and universe creators Mark Wandrey and Chris Kennedy, “For a Few Credits More” includes sixteen all-new stories in the Four Horsemen universe by a variety of bestselling authors—and some you may not have heard of…yet. It’s a world where you can get anything you want. Some things, though, are only available for a few credits more!
Inside you’ll find: Foreword by David Weber “Butch and Sundance” by Peter Cawdron “Where Enemies Sit” by Rob Howell “Boss” by Scott Moon “Leverage” by Josh Hayes “Luck of the Draw” by JR Handley & Corey D. Truax “Contract Fulfilled” by Tim C. Taylor “Emancipation” by Mark Wandrey “Forbidden Science” by Terry Mixon “Change of Command” by Thomas A. Mays “A Family Tradition” by Ian J. Malone “Go for Bait” by T.C. Bucher “The Kra’daar” by Chris Winder “Blood of Innocents” by James Young “Messenger” by Nick Cole “Faith” by Chris Kennedy “Tinkerman” by Jake Bible “The Start of Something Beautiful” by Kacey Ezell

Called “fantastic” and “a great speaker,” he has coached hundreds of beginning authors and budding novelists on how to self-publish their stories at a variety of conferences, conventions, and writing guild presentations. He is the author of the award-winning #1 bestseller, “Self-Publishing for Profit: How to Get Your Book Out of Your Head and Into the Stores.”
I like that this book had something for everyone. While most of the stories center around action, there are still stories that either focus on or include solid character development. A full, review for each story will appear on my blog in time.
What a ride! One of my favorite stories was the (sorry, Mr. Wandrey) mad-scientist antimatter story.
I love these Four Horsemen anthologies because you get a glimpse of the "regular" mercs and the kind of world that these humans are all mixed up in. I've read the first of the mainline series and these two anthologies so far. I suppose I'll bring an extra box for books to LibertyCon this year.
The major fault: No table of contents. I want a table of contents in my print book.
I struggled a LOT with this book. I have loved the preceding installments in the universe, and I'm looking forward to more stories. However, my reaction to this was so off-putting that i had to ask for help to evaluate my review, just in case I was allowing some personal stuff to infect my perceptions. I give the full review, and the back story, here: http://habakkuk21.blogspot.com/2017/1...
I enjoyed all the stories; it's fun to get different POVs in the 4HU. My favorites were Butch and Sundance (Cawdron), Contract Fulfilled (Taylor), Emancipation (Wandrey), Forbidden Science (Mixon), Change of Command (Mays), A Family Tradition (Malone), Blood of Innocents (Young), Messenger (Cole), Faith (Kennedy), Tinkerman (Bible), and The Start of Something Beautiful (Ezell).
I haven’t been exposed to the universe of the Four Horsemen before reading this book, but now I need to get cracking. It keeps you sucked in to the end and is a read you just want finish in one go. I especially liked the story of Ivan and Boudicca capturing the Minotaur Lucky.
A fun collection of short stories set in the Four Horsemen Universe! In full disclosure, I wrote one of the stories in this collection but I'm rating this on the merits of the other works contained within the pages of this anthology! If you like science fiction, give this collection of unique stories that span the SF spectrum a chance!!
The Revelation Series has been slowing improving in quality as the series progresses and this collection is no exception. It still doesn't advance the greater plot seen from the complete novels, but provides an interesting snapshot of life for those not at the top of merc food chain. The best story is the last one, which put it right over on 5 stars for me.
Having two books that are full of short stories , is truly a brilliant idea. It allows the authors to really flesh out the universe and introduce, new characters and ideas. Enjoy the read. It's a fun time
Ok this is the 2nd collection of the Horsemen Universe that i have read and found it better than first. Some great stories that expand the narrative series and leave you wanting more! Will be starting a Fistfull of Credits shortly
When you read the Four Horsemen series, you begin to wonder and think about how things in the Guild Universe fit together and why. This book does just that along with the twin book it belongs to.
Good anthology with a lot of engaging reads. Normally short story collections have me doing the reader equivalent of driving in rush hour traffic. Lots of stop and go. This felt smooth and it kept me turning pages. It's a good read.
As unusual as it is, 2d anthology in the universe where I do not find a weak story. All solid, some more enjoyable than others and some making you want more from the universe!
This shared universe develops into something more enjoyable and rich with each book!
