Come Back to Me

Rate this book
A beautifully written time travel love story. A romance that mixes the suspense and implications of time travel.

Megan Miller has come to a crossroads in her career. Accusations of a breach of ethics in her university teaching have rocked her usual serenity. As she travels half way across the world to the Glastonbury rock festival to research and complete her doctoral thesis, she hopes that the mess she leaves behind will be sorted while she is in England.

Davy Morgan, reclusive rock singer, works overtime to keep his music world and his private life separate. His very existence depends on it. But when the beautiful, fey woman moves into the cottage next door, he must do all he can to keep his dark secret.

Because everything is not as it seems in Davy's world. When the truth comes out, can their love cross the decades, or will it be lost in time?

I had high expectations due to the intriguing blurb, which sadly weren’t met.
The flow wasn’t great, the storyline was confusing, the romance was flat and underdeveloped.

All of us has at some stage idolized a movie star or rock star, you fantasize about being their one and only and living happy ever after. The real question ? What would you do if it actually happened!

In the new read from Annie Seaton it does and it does so with an amazing bang of twists and turns that made this read a page turner through and through.

Megan comes face to face with her rock start idol, or so she thinks. The man of the moment is as close to the idol as it gets , yet he holds a secret that when revealed will shatter the world and Megan's idea of who the real man truly is.

I loved this read, it was fun and exciting. Had the perfect balance of rocking it out and romance found and with the added mystery it made the entire read an absolute delight to read. The author created extremely fantastic characters with very vivid detail and a truly fascinating plot.

I highly recommend this read for fans of music related romance reads, it has been done before but not quite like Annie Seaton does it, a true feast for the senses!

This is a great book it's a love that transcends time.
If I put a song to this book it would be Skyler Grey Coming Home part 2.
It's like the way Megan comes Home to Davy when they are meant to be together
before they even knew it. This is a story of music and love and the mending of broken hearts.

COME BACK TO ME is a beautifully written time travel love story. Megan has always been a huge fan of the 70's music since she was a child: especially the Davy Morgan Band. Now as an adult she is headed to the Glastonbury Festival to do research for her thesis. Upon arriving at Violet Cottage, she can't get in. Soon Megan falls asleep near the door. David Morgan returning home from playing at the festival, falls over a beautiful woman asleep on his door step. Megan thinks for a moment he is Davy Morgan; however David lets her think he is related to Davy to protect his I privacy. This is the first time travel story I have read and I loved it! I was back in the 70's. Ms. Seaton's books, I highly recommend!

An emotional journey for two people meant to be together but born decades apart. Thoroughly enjoyed the evocation of atmosphere at an early Glastonbury music festival, and the clever weaving together of past and present.
A keeper.

Come Back to Me is a time travel love story that provides you with romances a little bit of suspense. When Megan Miller was accused of breach of ethics and lost her teaching job, she decided to move to England to finish her doctoral thesis. Davy Morgan is a reclusive rock star and when there lives collard with each other things will change for both of them. The readers of Come Back to Me will follow Davy Morgan and Megan Miller to see what happens to them.

I loved reading Come Back to Me it engaged me from the start with its exciting way Annie Seaton incorporated time travel within her plot. Come Back to Me was well written and researched by Annie Seaton. I like Annie Seaton portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other. The way Annie Seaton describes her setting, I felt I was part of the scenery.

Come Back to Me highlights the importance of everyone learning about computer security and securing their computer passwords. Also, the readers of Come Back to Me will learn about the annual Glastonbury Music Festival held on the last weekend in June.

I recommend this book.

A poignant tale that transcends time
Megan Miller arrives in Glastonbury on the eve of the famous festival, excited at the prospect of experiencing her research firsthand and living in the place where her doctorate on the sociology of seventies music and festivals, and teenage crush on the seventies rock star, Davy Morgan, all began.
Unfortunately, she mistakes her cottage accommodation and is found by the resident , asleep on his doorstep.
David Morgan believes the chick on his doorstep is a groupie, looking for a quick round of the bedroom with a band musician, and he is more than happy to oblige but there is no way she’s staying the night and he is quite blatant about it.
Exhausted by the long flight, she is incensed and infuriated, at the wham bang, thank you, ma’am, attitude of her neighbor, a man who looks just like he stepped right off the poster of her seventies idol, Davy Morgan.
Relations improve the next morning over coffee and David explains the resemblance to his uncle, the famous seventies rock star, but when Megan inadvertently follows his path across the fields to the festival, she finds a growing fascination with the musician. But David Morgan must fight the growing attraction for Megan.
I loved the transition to another time; it was great fun to experience the seventies with Megan and the time slip was written with great plausibility. The sexual tension between Megan and Davy is sizzling, but how will the two lovers overcome the boundaries of time?
The story has a particularly poignant ending, that transcends time. I loved the story and recommend a rock and roll trip down memory lane or take a splash into the past if you weren’t even born then.

"I love Rock 'n' Roll".
Megan Miller lives in the present day but her first love is Davy Morgan, famous rock star whose career took off at the 1971 Glastonbury Festival. Living decades and continents apart, how can their love exist, let alone survive?

Megan travels to the UK for research and lands at Heathrow to receive texts that she is facing a personal and work crisis that could see her lose her job and her academic reputation. Leaving her solicitor brother-in-law back in Australia to deal with it, she heads off to find Violet Cottage, a friend's family inheritance close to the festival. Instead, she meets David, a replica of his uncle Davy Morgan. In looks only, or so it seems. When she accidentally follows him across the ley lines to 1971, anything can happen. She could be lost in the past and she's definitely in danger of losing her heart.

The writing is beautiful, descriptive and lyrical, and the dialogue and problems surrounding the hippy culture are realistic and well researched. David Bowie even makes a brief appearance, as he did at the 1971 festival before he was famous. This is my favourite Annie Seaton novel. The tag line is a clue: "Whenever you are". Ms Seaton uses the idea of ley lines around mystical, magical areas in Britain to bring these two lovers out of time together. Yes, it is a time slip novel and I loved this element. It adds so much to the yearning and the emotional difficulties of being together. I cried at the end, but they were good tears. I just didn't want to leave these characters and their love that had to wait so long to be realised. A man who will wait as Davy waits for Megan--my goodness, he's a forever kind of hero.

Hot Rock is where dreams come true. Megan Miller has always loved the music of the 1970s. This was the music of her parents. Her crush was sexy Davy Morgan. Now she is going to the famous Glastonbury festival to experience it for herself. This will be research for her doctorate. Her journey doesn't start well. She is suspended from her teaching job until they investigate her for false grades. Can things get worse? Yes. They can and do. David Morgan lives next door to her cottage. He is sexy and very rude. He wants her gone. Why? Is their a connection to her 70s idol? Why all the mystery? Annie Seaton has done it again. She has written a very entertaining and solid story. I love the way she adds time travel. The way the past and the present intertwine makes for an intriguing read. The characters are amazing. Megan and David are dynamite. Their attraction and the heated sexual tension is so hot. The supporting characters add so much to the story. I especially enjoy Bear, Davy's band mate. This is my favorite book by Annie Seaton which is saying something. Don't miss Hot Rock.

Megan has always loved 70's music and Davy Morgan. Davy loves his music but hates the 70's vibe. When he moves to Glastonbury he finds out about a way to travel through time. He starts living in the present day. Megan is on holiday researching her thesis on music festivals when she meets Davy but she doesn't know it is him. She accidentally follows him through the gate and is transported back to 1971, the start of Davy's music career. She can't believe what she is seeing. Can this be real? Through time and trial they fall in love. This is a wonderful story of love and music and how that no matter the trials love conquers all.

I liked this book it was easy to read with likeable characters.

Davy/David is a rockstar and uses leylines to exist in two eras, Megan is a reporter off to Glastonbury to do research, leaving her troubles back in Australia.

They instantly have chemistry, but could they be more? I liked all the music references and festival talk. Maybe they were meant to be, maybe time could be on there side.......

An easy read, there are a couple of sex scenes but it's not what I'd call erotic, more a light romance with a paranormal element.

Megan Miller was on her way to Glastonbury to do some research on Davy
Morgan. While she had just got to the airport in London, she had several calls from her sister Kathy. Her sister told her that she had been suspend. They say that she has plagiarized material for her doctorate.

David Morgan was late getting home because the pyramid stage had only been half set up. He fell over Megan sleeping on the porch. She told him he was a very vile human being.
Enjoyed this book very much. I thought it was will written.

Megan Miller's parents were fans of 70's rocker Davy Morgan. Megan fell in love with his music and this in turn influenced her choice of study leading to her Doctoral thesis. Her research takes her to Glastonbury for the music festival where she inadvertently becomes the neighbour of David Morgan, a modern day covers rocker of his Uncle Davy's music; or so she thinks.
Time travel, love, confusion and some intrigue ensues.
Annie's character development, plot and location are immaculately researched as always, producing a story that is easily pictured in your mind's eye. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

A "GREAT" book. A time travel with a Rock star what more do you want. It goes back and forth between the 80"s and current time. I loved the characters and the dialogue. I would totally recommend this book to everyone liking time travel romance. I'm usually not into that gene but I loved this book and so glad I got the chance to read and review it. I absolutely loved this time travel romance by Annie Seaton. I've had it sitting there patiently since it's release last November, but when I heard book 2 was releasing in February I thought I'd better get my reading skates on. Time travel has always intrigued me and since reading Cross Stitch (Outlander) nearly 20 years ago, I've come across several good novels that ask the question can love survive when 2 people are from different times or places. When Megan travels to England for the Glastonbury festival in 2011, she encounters her idol from the 70`s, Davy Morgan's lookalike, or is he...
Sparks fly after a rough start and the two have to come to terms with their feelings and the incredible and almost unbelievable situation they find themselves in and figure out if this is a love that was truly meant to be. Megan has left a life changing career situation back home in Australia which she will need to return to to sort out one aspect of her future. And Davy has a record to make to ensure his future, or his past. Will the hands of fate turn in the right direction for these two souls.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Quite enjoyed this one from Annie Seaton - a little different to her normal, more recent Australian set rural and eco-romances. However I got a bit frustrated around how the two main characters kept doing a complete 180 on the way they responded to each other - talk about hot and cold!

About the Author:
Annie Seaton is busy with many writing projects. She continues work on books 2 and 3 of the Half Moon Bay Series--Sienna's story and Georgie's story. Coming out March 2015 is The Emerald Quest -Book 1, an historical, the first book in a five book series. And lastly, Seductive Secrets is the prequel to Dangerous Desire and will be available soon.

She lives on the coast of Australia. Her lifelong dream of writing has held much success. She writes steampunk, historical and paranormal romance and romantic suspense. Before retiring she spent her working years in early childhood education, teaching training of teachers at university. She’s been a librarian, teacher, technology consultant and university tutor. For further information about her and her books click on these links: http://www.annieseaton.blogspot.com.qu/ http://www.annieseatonromance.com

For recreation she loves the outback and removing herself from technology. She delights in walks on the beach and caring for her garden or muses on her deck overlooking the ocean where she plots and dreams of new stories.

About the Story:
Megan had problems at home, in Australia, more than she wanted to even think about. She didn’t know how she’d ever clear her name at the university. She was here in England to enjoy the Glastonbury Festival, and complete her research for her doctorate about Davy Morgan’s band, famous in 1971. So who was this guy who stayed at the cottage next door that looked just like Davy Morgan? He said Davy was his uncle. Was she so attracted to him because he looked like her teenage singing idol? She knew they created amazing chemistry and she had to understand this attraction before she returned home to deal with her life.

David Morgan had many secrets that he had to keep from Megan and the best way to do it, was to make her dislike him, so he puts on the bad-boy act. He felt it, too. The terrible attraction that he’d never had with anyone. But he dare not let her get close. She may learn the truth. But when he thinks he’s lost her for sure, he does the only thing that could bring her back. He writes a song.

Strange events occurred during the summer solstice in Glastonbury. David moved from year 2014 to 1971 through special stones aligned with Stone Henge. Megan followed him one day, thinking, he was hurt when he disappeared behind some stones in the field. What she finds is hard to fathom.

Excerpt:
David moved across to the kitchen window and tipped his coffee dregs into the sink. A movement next door caught his attention. His new neighbor was wandering around in her back garden. He’d dreamed about her all night. He’d been so wired, he’d gotten up early to do some writing. Rose-red lips, jet-black hair, and a body begging to be loved; it was as if she’d bewitched him. The crazy dreams had stayed with him after he had woken up, dreams of touching her and his hands overflowing with her tears even as he held her breasts. She’d stared deep into his eyes and he’d felt as though his soul had been exposed to her. He’d still been thinking about her when she’d appeared on his porch this morning.

But she’d come back over to get her bag, not to connect with him. He’d forgotten all about it, or he would have put it on her porch last night. He’d gotten a jolt in his chest when he’d heard her out there. Despite the crumpled shirt and jeans she looked like something out of a fairy tale. All that tumbling hair and those bright-red lips.

And she had attitude. It was a shame he wasn’t interested. He frowned and shook his head.

I’m not.

My Thoughts:
This is a light contemporary romance crossing distance and time. Megan’s love is tinted with teenage idol worship and a powerful magical attraction to Davy. Her love for his music and its hold on her spirit deepens that attraction. Much of the story she feels drugged or confused because of traveling through time, so takes her some time to figure out what is happening to her. The reader knows, Davy knows, but she doesn’t.

Davy, is a man who never lets anyone get close. When they have, it’s always turned out bad. Davy plays the bad boy. That isn’t who he is—it’s meant to get more publicity. His friendship with the band members is genuine and he feels responsible not to rock the boat, and let events happen as they were meant to be.

I could feel how he felt about the lifestyle that was expected of him as a rock star. He disliked it. He only continued because of his love of singing and writing music. It makes me wonder about the actors, actresses and singers we idolize today. How happy are they? How many of them would like to escape as Davy did? Is their escape drugs and alcohol?

I enjoyed the historical glimpses of the lifestyle of the free-spirited 1970’s hippies. It brought back great memories. Those readers who enjoy short contemporary romantic reads with a splash of time travel should enjoy discovering Davy and Megan’s story.

Having grown up in the seventies could not pass this book up when I read the blurb-sexy rock star from the seventies,oh the hype rock groups and the like had back then with glorious concerts in their wake, and knew this author could write about this era wonderfully with no problems being able to pull off one to hold my interest. This is one writer that can take words and turn it into a captivating journey down any road with characters she brings to life with the magic she breathes into them. Megan is on her way to finish her work and thesis that takes her to England to experience first hand music there. Having all her life followed the music and the life and times of Davy Morgan who became a recluse following tours and appearance at the Glastonbury festivals and albums popularity. She loves one song in particular "For Megan" that had actually began her journey long ago. But urgent news from home of a scandal involving a jerk she used to see could threaten her time plus her life but not yet does she let it. There is a cottage she is to stay at but somehow ends up at wrong one. Who should be at this cottage but Davy but he thinks she is there for another reason and she thinks he is at her cottage. Not thinking this could be the one and same Davy she thinks he is a jerk and the fun begins. The humor is quite refreshing as you read this that does go on between these two. The magic is indeed in this one because it is the same Davy with the reasons it is in the telling of this wonderful romance filled with magic in the lines. Read how they get to begrudgingly get to know each other with a event that breaks time. When they come together as one tingles went down the arms for sure while reading it. She learns his secret and the relationship builds for how long only time will tell. But troubles from home come roaring their ugly head and must be dealt with not to be put off any longer . When Davy has not a clue kinda on how to find her you become breathless wondering oh no what now. The significant of the song also revealed which provided more tingles. A love story such as this between this sexy rock star and Megan that defies time and lasts beyond is woven so you as the reader once read will see why I say magic in the writing because how it can touch you through the telling leaving tingles and a warm heart. Would not of missed this for nothing plus would of missed out on all the pleasure this novel gave to me the reader. received a arc for a honest review.

Hot Rock. Annie Seaton
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
Rock Star romance – I do love those and the Bad Boy heroes :) and I know I enjoy Annie's writing style, so this was a must-have.
So Megan takes the trip of a lifetime from Australia to UK for the Glastonbury festival to reteach empirical evidence for her Doctoral thesis. She's just left when she discovers a cheating ex has copied her work, and made some spurious accusations about her that threaten her career. Fortunately her sister and brother in law can deal with it, he's a solicitor so he promises to keep her informed via phone and web. Curious things happen though – she bumps into someone whose the dead spit of her teenage idol 70's star Davy Morgan, living next to the cottage where she's staying. He tells her that's his nephew and he just plays in a local band...then there's the spotty phone and internet reception, the weird lady in the village store who blames everything on the Solstice...and the curious stones at the rear of the cottage where Davy disappears one day. Thinking he's injured she rushes after him and …
Yes. I didn't realise but its a time slip novel ( I love those) so the characters not only have distance to contend with, but time as well. I loved the way Annie let them find each other at the end – it fitted so well, and was really apt with the theme of the novel. I enjoyed the way Megan was desperately trying to convince herself she wasn't really back in the 70's ( and who wouldn't? It defies logic..) and the way Davy was so protective of her. It made for a touching and fun romance. Its not deep, dark drama and probably not one I’d re read but its a fun, shortish read, and a great escape for a couple of hours. I did feel the problems over her thesis and work were really not necessary, and as its a shortish novel that issue would have been better spend on the romance aspect itself. Maybe I missed something? But I didn't feel that really added to the story. It's priced at £1.23for 132 pages on kindle.
Stars: Four, good gentle romance, solid plot but not quite enough drama for a five from me.

Hot Rock..........Annie Seaton

This novel is a delightful contemporary romantic story, with a bit of a twist. Traveling from the present to a 1971 rock concert and back pulls you into the story of Megan Miller, doctoral student, and David/Davy Morgan elusive rock star with a bad boy image.

Megan is going to Glastonbury, England to do research for her doctoral thesis on the sociological effect of the music in the 1970's. A dream come true, she is going to an outdoor music festival, and staying in a small cottage on the grounds of the venue. She has spent a long day traveling, and upon landing hears from her brother in law in Australia that she faces a disciplinary hearing which could put her doctorate and career in jeopardy. Realizing it's lies told by a former lover, who was also her colleague, infuriates her, but she refuses to leave England until her research is done. Exhausted both physically and emotionally, she falls asleep on the porch of the cottage when she can't find the key.

Davy Morgan is equally exhausted after practicing with his band and singing his heart out. Looking forward to a large whiskey and relaxation he is startled when he stumbles on a woman, asleep on his porch. He immediately assumes she is a crazed fan, and acts accordingly....rudely. After a short discussion, they both realize she is supposed to be in the cottage next door, Violet cottage and she goes on her way even more convinced she hates men.

Ms. Seaton's descriptions of the town, the atmosphere, scenery and the exotic stones make you feel like you are actually there. The characters, both past and present are fascinating. The danger of slipping back and forth and getting stuck in 1971, or present day add some suspense to the story. Megan and Davy fall in love through time, music and ultimately the fear of losing each other. I enjoyed every page of this novel.

I received this novel from the author for an honest review.

Timeless affair with 70's hot rocker!

Megan leaves Australia for the Glastonbury festivals and has only just arrived to complete the research on her doctoral thesis when disaster strikes. She is asked to come home and defend herself against charges that have caused her to be suspended from her position at the University.
Meanwhile she runs into a super hot family member of her childhood crush, 70's rocker Davy Morgan. He is nasty to her to make sure she keeps her distance because his secret is that he really is Davy Morgan.
Megan is torn between her love for the music plus her big chance to be at this festival and going home to defend herself. Then there is the interplay between Megan and Davy tearing at them both.
The story of a love that crosses the boundaries of time; I loved it! I did not want it to end and wanted more... the only thing wrong with this book is that I want more... maybe we'll see more of Davy and Megan?

Touching, Interesting Journey through the 70s Rock Scene I’ve only read one other time travel story, so I didn’t have any preconceived notions of how this should play out. As it turns out, I totally enjoyed this element, especially because it had the characters traveling back to the 70s – an era that doesn’t get much play in romance. I loved the “meet cute” between these two. It was a great way to start off the sparks. The setting and period details of the story were absolutely fabulous.  I felt like I was experiencing the hippie movement myself!

I’ll definitely read more of Annie Seaton for her lyrical writing alone. I also loved the story concept – a rock star moving forward in time to find the love he’d written about forty years ago…destiny and all that! The connection between Davy and Megan was heartfelt…and the heat level was steamy! I felt the secondary characters – especially Bear and Slim – contributed a lot and it would be fun to get their stories as well!

Megan is obsessed with seventies rock star Davy Morgan, so when she goes to England for her research on the music festival that launched his career, she's shocked to meet his nephew David, who is a dead ringer for the rocker.
Davy Morgan has a secret, he travels through time, living in modern England, but performing in the seventies. After too much of the seventies rock lifestyle, he just wants to play his music and be left alone. But he can't get Megan out of his head.
Hot Rock is a fun, rocking novella from Entangled Covet. Megan is a feisty and interesting heroine. And, although Davy gets off to a rocky start, treating Megan chauvinistically, he grew on me, and on Megan.
While I thought the characters could have used more depth, and I sometimes questioned the believability of their actions, I was thoroughly entertained. HOT Rock is a flirty ride through time, with lots of great music references to boot.

A copy of the book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way for said review.

Romance, time-traveling and rock and roll... The new Annie Seaton novel offers this and much more. Megan travels to England to Glastonbury Festival for academic research. Her neigbour is musician David Morgan, who seems to be the dead ringer of Davy Morgan, her music idol from the seventies...
The love story starts, like many others, with a "crash": David and Megan are very different, but, in some ways, very similar. Their destiny is to be together through time and space, and music is the final ingredient that will unite them. I liked the writing in general, and especially the way Davy's character is depicted. I also loved the British music festival setting, especially all about the hippy culture and the seventies. You'll love Hot Rock, like I did, if you like contemporary romance with some paranormal elements, with a strong heroine who doesn't mind being a bit different and a talented hero strong as a rock.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange of my honest review.

Suspend your mind and forget everything you know about the time-space continuum and focus on the hot rock star in this new novel from Annie Seaton! In this time slip story set in the rock and roll heaven of the Glastonbury festival, true romance is all about the music of the heart and about being together despite the odds - even if the lovers are from different times. An interesting premise with lots of well-researched references to one of my favourite eras of music, complete with a David Bowie cameo! Davy Morgan is a true rock god, resplendent in his tight black jeans, all dark wavy hair and a sexy smile - I pictured Russell Brand minus the crudeness and Michael Hutchence minus the sadness!A good read, which had me wishing I was trudging the fields and listening to the tunes along with Davy and Megan.

Megan Miller, is researching music for her thesis, and she is going to attend the famous Glastonbury Festival. To her surprise, the man living in the house next door to the one she is staying in, looks exactly like Davy Morgan, a 70's rock star. Megan has loved him forever, and he is the reason she decided to study music. David Morgan tells her that Davy is his uncle, because he has a secret that he cannot share with her. When Megan watches David go across a field, she decides to follow him, and ends up at the festival, but not the one she was expecting! This was a great story of love, romance, suspense, and rock 'n' roll. Will time keep David and Morgan apart or bring them together? I really enjoyed this book, and recommend it to anybody that loves old time rock 'n' roll with a twist!!

I love to read romance time travel stories. I love how two people from different eras can meet and fall in love with each other. Hot Rock was such a story. It was really interesting to read about Megan who went to the famous Glastonbury festival to gather more information to write her doctorate thesis and how she met her teen idol Davy. The only thing disappointing was that it is a novella. I wish that Annie Seaton had written a full length novel and had written more about how the whole time travel romance worked and how they overcame the hurdle of living in a different era.

My most favorite part of the book and what I found most romantic was the song Davy wrote for Megan titled "For Megan".
Come back to me Megan.
Together we will conquer time
Come back to me, I can't find you
I need you, I love you.

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
