Of all the men in the world, he has to be the one to walk into the bar when I decide to have a drink.
Clay Maxwell. Bachelor. Tech billionaire. My new boss.
Oh, and school ex-boyfriend.
He wants me to help look after the troubled little girl left in his care because I'm a child psychologist.
But I should have said no. Because now, I'm the one who's going insane, torn between pain and pleasure, past and future, each day with Clay reminding me of what was and what might have been.
The problem with the mind is that the more you try to forget, the more you remember.
And I remember everything all too well.
*Tech Guy is a steamy, yet sweet STANDALONE contemporary romance of around 420 pages with a hot alpha billionaire single dad and his virgin lady. I don't enjoy cliffhangers or cheating, so you won't find any of them in here. I can also guarantee you a sweet happily-ever-after ♥
I'm sick of second chance romances where the woman saves herself for her lost love but the guy gets to sleep around with every woman they see. In this case, Andrea gets her heart broken at 15 y/o when her boyfriend, Clay, of over a year practically ghosts her (despite making plans to eventually marry her) without a word. Thirteen years later, at 28 y/o, she's STILL A VIRGIN because no man can equal her lost love. But Clay can shove his 'man cigar' into any hole he finds? I'm so tired of this overdone cliche that men can have fun and sex but women are too consumed with what they've lost to move on. And once Andrea and Clay finally see each other again, he offers no explanation, no apology, nothing. He just flirts shamelessly like he expects to get what he wants because of course he will, he's a rich handsome hero and the heroine has an overcooked noodle for a spine.
Want to read a sometimes sad, never passionate, forced "romance" with a cold and distant hero and a weak heroine that doesn’t come across as a realistic professional of psychology? Then have at it. I'll just be in the corner kicking myself for wasting so much of my time.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a second chance at love romance with 13 years in between the couple having seen each other.
Clay is a successful man having built up his own company with a friend and now is very rich and has always loved his high school girlfriend, the girl he left behind to look after his sick mother.
Andrea has not had a boyfriend since Clay. No one has held a candle to Clay, but after he left she moved on with her life and got the college degree she wanted. She too is successful with child psychiatry. She is also somehow a virgin at 28.
ITs a sweetbread as you see two people come back together and rekindle a lost romance that was only broken because of circumstance. However, would things still have been so good had they not had the break in their relationship.
This is a wonderful second chance love story you will not want to miss. Clay and Andrea meet in high school after he moves in with his grandparents. They become high school sweethearts with and end and no explanation as to why, leaving a broken heart and many tears. Clay thought he was doing the right thing but years later under an unusual situation he finds out what damage he really created for Andrea. Clay was into reading computer codes and made himself a very wealthy businessman. Andrea went on to college and found her dream of becoming child psychologist, Dr come true. Out of no where they unexpectedly meet in a bar that ends way too soon and along with more hurt. Clay returns a couple days later and asked Andrea for her professional help that was dropped into his lap and can't say no for several reason Rose is a six year old little girl that never knew her mother and lost her father one night. She has some issues that Andrea is perfect to help with. I enjoyed how Clay would keep pushing Andrea to open up and give him a second chance. Andrea finally stops running away and gives in to Clay and opens her heart, body and soul and finds her happiness that left her all those years ago. Once the custody of Rose becomes the most important item they do what they must to keep her. My heart just broke when Aunt Nora drops in with her heartbreaking news. Once aunt Nora makes her decision does everything fall into place for her and Clay and Andrea. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I am voluntarily writing this review for the book I received through ARC.
Andrea and Clay were together in high school and made plans to go to college. One day Clay gets a call from his grandmother saying his mom is dying and he should go to her well he does but he also left Andrea with just a note he gave to his grandmother.
Skip ahead many years and Andrea is a well known author for her books on child psychology. Andrea and Jo her friend stop at a bar before going to their rooms. Jo sees this hot guy walk through the door and has Andrea turn around when she comes face to face with Clay. She couldn't believe it he looked so good they start to talk and Jo leaves the two alone. Andrea goes to the ladies room and when she comes out Clay is gone again and she couldn't believe he did it again. Little does she know that his best friend just died in a car accident.
Time goes by and Andrea thought it was the last time she would she Clay. Meanwhile Clay finds out that John had a daughter and John was entrusted the little girl to Clay. Clay was freaked out to say the least so he enlists the help of Andrea.
Rose,Clay and Andrea set out on a rode trip hoping to help Rose with her phobias. Andrea became very close to Rose while keeping Clay at arms length. All of a sudden Gavin, Clay's lawyer calls and tells him that Rose has an Aunt that is laying claim to her. Andrea was devastated and so was Clay. Gavin talked to both of them and came up with a plan to keep Rose with the them but, they would have to get married.
Will Andrea and Clay go through with the marriage, will Aunt Nora take Rose away for good not believe that Andrea and Clay are married. Will Andrea give Clay and herself a second chance? I guess you'll have to read the book.
Great love story. You can really feel the angst of the characters when they are young and the frustration when they are older. This is a new kind of single daddy story. I assure you, you have not read something like this before. I love it and you will too.
Clay and Andrea dated for two years in highschool, but the summer before Clay went to college he received a call from his mother telling him she was dying. Andrea was on vacation with her parents at the time, so he though he will be back before her and will not have to tell her anything including the fact that his mother was not death like he told her. Well the trip to see his mother last 5 month and he never came back or tell Andrea something about it. He just disappear.
13 years later... Andrea is a succesful writter and psychologist. Her friend make her go for drinks when they finish one of her book signings. There she saw a face she never thought she would see again...Clay. All the feeling are there and they are raw, she can't do it. They make small talk and she excuse herself to go the restroom and when she came back he is gone, again.
Clay can't believe his luck, find Andrea again. But his friend John just die and have to go. What he found can't be real. Now he is the proud father of a 6 year old girl that not only lost her father but also have not one but two phobias. He need help! A psychologist and who better than Andrea. Now he can kill two birds with one shot, help his little girl and win Andrea back. Or can will he be able to?

3.5 The story is quite simple : Clay left 13 years ago because his mother was dying. He thought that he would be back soon but then he never came back and he never said why to his girlfriend Andrea. So, 13 years later she’s a psychologist for children, she writes psychology books and she meets Clay again. He tries to tease her in a bar but he disappears again. Except that, this time, he contacts few days after, to ask her help, because one of his friend is dead and he let him his daughter custody. Clay don’t know how to help the little girl. He asks Andrea her help him, but she'll have to live with them. He’s completely still in love with her. She doesn’t want anything to start again with him, even if she’s still loving him. And that the problem of this book : When it’s about Andrea, 60% of the book is about her who doesn’t want to try to have a relation with Clay, again, and again, and again. I understand that she needed time to change her mind, as for the litlle girl to move on her loss, but it seems so long for me. 3 or 4 stars ? It’s well written and keep me to the end of the book, so I chose 4 stars, but, really, some parts seems really too long. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

In this story we meet Clay and Andrea.
13 years ago Clay had to leave because of his mother was dying. He thought he could be back after a couple of days which is why he never said anything to his girlfriend (Andrea), but life had other plans.
13 years later Andrea is now a children psychologist and writes books about children. Having recently wrapped up her book tour, she is set to relax a couple days.
Into the picture comes Clay, they meet up at a bar, but he quickly leaves again, until a few days later when he needs help with a little girl that is now in his care. Problem? Clay doesn't know how to take care of this child, therefore he asks Andrea to help him. In the middle of all this "chaos" sparks starts flying, children starts requesting - and who can say no to a little child? And when all things looks like it's finally in place, things turn south.
A lovely read, with a happy ending. Would have loved though that Andrea wasn't so resistent on what to do 60% of the book, and just let the past go and let fate take over, but I guess that is easier said than done, and well it is a book so just about anything can happen :)
Clay was a billionaire in the tech world. Andrea is a Child Psychologist and author of books to help parents and children. 14 years ago they were going together and in love. Clay left and never said goodbye to Andrea. They meet again at a bar and he takes off without a word again. Clay was given custody of his best friend and mentors daughter. She has problems and Clay goes to find Andrea to get her to help Rose. This book has emotional upheaval, demons from the past, lots of love, and understanding. Will Rose bloom? Will Andrea be able to forgive Clay? Anna Collins has lots of empathy and understanding of human nature and children. She took her characters and filled them out so the readers would interact with them and the plot. This book grabs you right from the beginning. If you are emotional like I am have some tissues handy. Grab you the book and start reading. Find out the journey they take to get Rose back to a normal child. I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
While The Past Can Come Back to Haunt You, It Can Also Come Back to Save You
It's been thirteen years since he crushed her. Thirteen years since he broke his promises to her. And she has harbored so much pain since then.
Clay Maxwell grew up to be a billionaire tech company owner, his life has been going well. But then she flirts back into his life out of no where and he is forced to leave her behind again.
Andrea grew up to become a world class physiologist, specializing in child psychology. After bumping into Clay at a bar in Chicago, she realizes she's been better off without him all along.
And then he shows up again, at her hotel following her last book signing for her newest release. He is requesting her help with a child, his daughter. He manages to get her agreement, she can't help but feel for a child in need. But can the ex's handle being around each other? Or will they only make matters worse for the broken child?
What an amazingly well written book. I was touched by the characters and couldn't put the book down. It's a definite must read here. As my first Anna Collins book, I can guarantee it won't be my last.
Another good book written by Anna Collins. This book is about Andrea and Clay who were once sweethearts in highs school. They haven't seen each other since he left to see his mother who was dying and never saw each other again. The next time they run into each other is in a bar. Their chemistry is still explosive between the two and he needs her help. Can she get over what happened to help him? His best friend left his daughter to him after he passed and Rose needs help. Andrea is a psychologist and works with kids, will she be able to get Rose to talk again and to be happy? Can Clay and Andrea ignore the feelings that they both still feel for each other? Can they have a happily ever after? Pick the book up to find out for yourself. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
A wonderful second chance book you must read! Clay and Andrea were high school sweethearts. Things happened and he left, which destroyed her. He went on to become a billionaire and she a psychologist. Their paths cross again 13 years later and it was all still there for both of them. This time, there was someone else to consider. Clay's former business partner leaves his 6 year old daughter Rose, to be raised by Clay, but she has major issues that only a psychologist can help with. Clay wants to keep Andrea is his life for himself and Rose, but Andrea is afraid to take that chance after being hurt so badly before. This book takes you on a long, twisting journey full of ups and downs, love, laughter, tears and heartache. Can these two work through the past to create a new future? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
4.5 Stars! There is Andrea who was a freshman in high school student when she met Clay. Clay had just transferred and her mom, the school's counselor, asked her to show him around. They became very close and had planned out their whole life when Clay just left. He was two years older and was going off to college but he said he would be back and broke Andrea when he didn't. Fast forward thirteen years, and they meet in a hotel bar. that's when things start to get good. The book has good character development. At times I think Andrea's character was a bit too insecure for being a psychologist. You go through varying emotions throughout the book. I enjoyed it and hope you do as well.

This was an almost heartbreaking second-chance romance. Clay and Andrea were high-school sweethearts, until he left her behind and didn't look back. Years later, he needs her help with his adopted daughter since she's now a child psychologist, and things start to pick up from there.
I wish we'd been given more insight into why Clay went so long without contacting her. Of the two, Andrea comes across as the stronger character, but Clay has his good points, too. Andrea's love for Clay shines through every step of the way, and I loved the way Rose's character was developed. She's such a sweet girl dealing with so much pain in her young life. Great story, well-earned HEA, and a writing style that is impossible to put down. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is the first book by Anna Collins that I have read and it was pretty good. She really knows how to bring out the emotions to make her characters feel real. I enjoyed the storyline of this book. While I really like Clay, I felt Andrea could have been a bit stronger. Overall a pretty good read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Clay = 5/5 Heroine, Andrea = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 3/5 Plot = 3/5 Mystery = 1/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 1/5 Humor = 1/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = no Would I read future books by this author = yes
After reading the blurb this one sounded like a book right up my alley. It was hard for me to get into this one. My issue was Clay. I'm not too big of a fan of his personality. I will say that I liked he was genuinely remorseful how he left things with Andrea in the past. I liked Andrea though. I felt for her because she was pretty torn. Tells a lot about her character that even though it will really mess with her she is willing to help Clay with Rose. My heart goes out to little Rose. My heart just broke for her. The story was good and the ending was sweet. Just wan't for me, but it doesn't mean that others won't find it highly enjoyable.
Anna Collins has gifted us with another amazing book. There is so much more to the book than just being s second chance romance. The storyline has multiple levels; the characters "real" on so many levels; emotions are at an all time high, while the plot twists and turns keep you flipping those pages. That the author chose to write about the psychological needs of a young child is a plus.this is an extremely well written novel that will tug at your heartstrings while making you laugh and cry. Thank you Ms Collins for sharing your book with us. ❤️ (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and could not put it down until I finished it.)
Tech Guy: A Single Dad Second Chance Romance by Anna Collins This is Clay, tech billionaire, and Andrea’s story.
Andrea and Clay were high school sweethearts but due to circumstances haven’t seen each other for years. Their paths cross again. The chemistry is still there but Andrea can’t forgive him for the way he hurt her. Clay needs her help with a little girl going through a hard time. Will Andrea be able to overcome her hurt to help the little girl?
The story was okay. It just drug on too long. It was hard to stay interested in the story. Others may find the story to their interest.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review. I really enjoyed this book. The journey Andrea, Clay, and Rose all took together was wonderful and heartwarming... mostly for the way Rose opened up to Andrea and Clay... I couldn't bring myself to "love" this book though because Andrea, as a psychologist herself, really annoyed the crap out of me by constantly running from Clay and their past and adamantly refusing to to even try to let him explain or mend things between them. The way things worked out in the end was great though and I would love to know how things go with Gavin and Jo!
3.5 stars I wanted to love this story and it was good just very drawn out. I didn't like the back and forth with Andrea, or how long it to her to decide if she would forgive Clay or not. I loved Clay. He knew what he wanted and was willing to go after it. Also, he didn't know how to be a father but he was will to learn for his friend and for Rose. There are some funny moments and it was a good story, especially if you love second chance romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Tech Guy by Anna Collins is a very good read. This second chance romance shall stir your emotions as the well written story develops. This is the complex story of Maxwell and Andrea. What a great second chance read, I just loved how this was a slow burn so you really got to know Clay and Andrea as well as cute little Rose. This was just so full of emotion, laughter some tears that it sucked you in as its steady paced read made you get totally lost within the story. This is a book I think I could read again and get just as much enjoyment out of it, stella work Anna Collins!

When i look at the cover and the title im like..meh..this cant be good. Read the synopsis and still have not convince me. I give it a try and it is good for half of the book until i think it got drag and certain parts that im not really agree too. But it is different because it is talking about a childs emotion and how to deal with death. I didnt even focus about the love life until it got drag. That dragging part im not a fan that much. But others,it is great.
I've not read anything by this author before, I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and was very glad to have done so. Though the story has many cliches as many modern romances do . The characters are likable and the story line keeps you turning pages. It kept me entertained throughout with a little bit of spiciness added in .
This is a great book. I loved the story line. Clay and Andrea were high school sweethearts until circumstances pulled Clay away. Rose is such a cute little girl I loved seeing her come out of her shell during this book.
I enjoyed Clay and Andrea's story. It was a good second chance romance that has it all. I cried, I laughed, it was sweet. The character are well written and the plot was enthralling. One-click and enjoy this read! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I voluntarily read the arc copy of this book. What a great story of second chances. Andrea fought real hard to deny Clay. But the true love finally won out in the end. Loved this book!
