Ever since Dawn and Rashelle could remember, their life has been hard and unfair. Everything they've had to endure has made them tough and sometimes ruthless. When their savage ways catch the attention of a mafia figure, their lives are changed forever. They are introduced to the underworld where disloyalty will get you killed. They find out that sometimes the tables do turn, and when they do, you better hope you're on the winning side.
I enjoyed this just as much as I enjoyed all the other books by Joy Jackson. I was hoping for more. The only thing I would suggest is get a new proof reader, the errors in the book good have been avoided. The main mistake was the names Dawn instead of Danielle, Ricardo instead of Gabriel... other than that GOOD JOB MISS JOY.
This book was about sisters who grew up getting hurt all the time. They started hurting the people back whi was hurting them. Rachelle fall in love but Dawn doesnt like it. They began a new career in which was started by a lie. They were used again but ended uo finding out the truth. Dawn ends up heartbroken but also finding love for the first time Everybody that has done them wrong ended up losong something. Dawn shows that through all we may endure there may be a happy story at the end. A very interesting book but true how people take advantage &use you for their own goals.
This was a great read. This was a story of two sisters who basically had a rough life growing up. Dawn and Rashelle had a very close relationship, nothing but death could tear them apart. I liked James, he was very good for Dawn, yes completed her. I swear that dad was a piece of work. And the mom wasn't any better. The set up was real. I didn't feel sorry for Emilio either, he should have know Dawn was coming for him.. Great standalone..

I really liked this book.. I went into this book not realizing that it was a standalone (of course I always want more)lol Dawn and Rashelle had been dealt a bad had and they had to figure out how to win at this thing called life.. I loved the bond that they shared.. They mama and daddy got wat they deserved Aunt Rosa & Emelio 2.. Mann family and loyalty don't mean ish 2 some ppl.. I hope Dawn gets her happily ever after in Venezuela..
This is the first time I've had the honor of reading a book by Joy Jackson, but it won't be the last time. Emilio and Hector found out the hard way never underestimate the power of a woman. When you dealt with one, you best believe the other one was not far behind.
I enjoyed this story. It kept my attention and the characters were easy to follow. The grammatical errors took away from the story line especially towards the end. It seemed like the ending was rushed and not edited to help the reader adjust to the flow for ending the story. Hopefully the author will work on how to transition the story to end smoothly.
Crazy how you have to go through it to make ends meet as a child , as the saying goes grass ain't always greener on other side , to lose your only family and find out your aunt set it up , would love to read more about these two
This was a good and intense read. The character development was well done, the plot not necessarily predictable and despite some of the bad things the main characters participated in, they were likable. If not for the atrocious editing, this would've been a 5 star.
I loved Dawn and Rashelle's relationship. They were closer than any two sisters could ever be. Because of the rough life that they had to endure, they had no choice but to be there for each other, and of course this brought out the savage in them. Mom and Dad both made my choke them out list. What they did was really foul. I have to give James his props. He was just what Dawn needed in her life. Emilio, not so much. Maybe I need to add him to my choke list. You think?
