Mark Cole #7

Against All Odds

Rate this book
America is in turmoil, the world in a state of near-war. And it is only going to get worse . . .

Clark Mason is the corrupt, power-hungry President of the United States of America. Since taking office after the violent death of his predecessor, he has betrayed American forces to foreign powers - facilitating a narrowly-avoided invasion of Europe by the Russian Federation; he has committed the US and her allies to a bloody, costly war with Iran; and he has closed down the nation's most effective counter-terrorism unit, Force One.

Mark Cole is Force One's commander, a lethal assassin and a special operations legend once known as 'the Asset'. Now declared a rogue agent by the US government, he is on the run from both legitimate forces, and a private security group hired by Mason to take Cole out of the picture once and for all.

Apex Security, under the leadership of the ruthless Bodi Gillett, is tasked with killing Cole, his daughter Michiko, and his loyal chief-of-staff, Bruce Vinson.

But Mark Cole is a man unable to accept being the prey, and knows he must once again become the predator; only this time, his task may prove to be impossible.

Because not only has he decided to take the fight to Apex Security, but he has also promised his fallen comrades that - against all odds - he will defy the might of the United States government and assassinate his own commander-in-chief, the President of the United States himself.

AGAINST ALL ODDS is the seventh novel in the internationally-bestselling Mark Cole series and is an adrenaline-charged, action-packed thriller that will leave you breathless and begging for more!

Many authors seem to trying to emulate Vince Flynn. Few, with the exception of Alex Berenson and Brad Thor are successful. This author is not successful.

The plot could have been worthwhile, albeit too unbelievable, and the escape scenes were especially over the top.

I will probably not return to this author.

Is this the end of the line?

Wounded and with most of the operators betrayed or dead, and the President doing everything in his power to eradicate Mark and the last of them...What more can they do?

Cole

I read books six and seven in three days; just couldn't put them down. The scary part is that this all seems quite probable!
