Special Forces veteran and Dark Knights Motorcycle Club member Bullet Whiskey lives to protect his family, their bar, and the residents of his small hometown. He’s rough, unapologetic, and haunted by a secret, painful past. He’s also a master at keeping people away, and when his sister hires gorgeous and sweet Finlay Wilson to help expand their biker bar, he knows just how to get rid of her.

After losing her boyfriend and her father, Finlay moves back to her hometown to be closer to the little family she has left. She needs her temporary job at Whiskey Bro’s to get her catering business off the ground, and she’s determined not to let the gruff, arrogant mountain of a man Bullet Whiskey scare her off.

Finlay is everything Bullet has never wanted. She’s afraid of his dog, afraid of motorcycles, and sweet enough to give him cavities, but as she weaves her way into the hearts of everyone around him, he’s powerless to resist her charms. Passion ignites, but trust doesn’t come easily, and when their pasts collide, Bullet finds out the true meaning of protecting those he loves.

"Sometimes, like now, (...), he imagined he and Finlay old and gray, riding over the bridge that led out of Peaceful Harbor and off into the sunset on his bike—knowing they’d be coming back over that bridge together."
I'm so glad book boyfriends don't get jealous of each other, because it's becoming hard to choose between these Whiskey men. And the women they fall for are all unique in their own way. And the world Melissa Foster's created is just perfect, and wraps everything up into the wonderful present that is this series.

“You’re warm sunshine, and I’m a winter storm."
Bullet is not my favorite Whiskey, but I did love him nonetheless. He's not apologetic of who he is. He knows what he wants. He protects his family and his loved ones above all else. And he's broken, coming back from the war with PTSD after what he saw and experienced there. Can you blame him for being a bit guarded about himself? Protective and rough? Or for not allowing anyone in? No, not really.

“You don’t need a pink vehicle to stand out. All you need to do is flash that traffic-stopping smile of yours.”
Finlay seems like the exact opposite of him, except for one thing. She thinks she's broken too. She lost her boyfriend a few years back, and has tried to keep herself busy, moving away from where she lived to start her own catering business. She's so feminine in everything she does: her dresses, her pink car, all the details in the food she prepares.

“It’s not like it is with you. Nothing in my life has been like it is with you. Not even close.”
You would think this is an 'opposites attract' story, but I think it's more of an 'opposites fit together' story. As usual, Melissa Foster delivers very little angst, but very well-constructed characters that feel real. With real flaws, real thoughts, and real problems. Real regret, and very real guilt, the kind that can ruin your life if you let it.

"You slay my demons and make everything seem possible. I want everything with you, Fins. I want days of riding and nights of making love until the sun comes up."
Bullet and Finlay met at a wedding that took place in the previous book in the series. He found her physically interesting, and gave her one of the cheesiest lines ever that got me laughing out loud... because, seriously, Taking a ride on the bullet train? The thing is that somehow his interest in her progressed from just physical to noticing her, really seeing her, to wanting her, to needing her. To not ever wanting to let her go.

“I’ve been yours since that very first kiss, and I’ll be yours until my very last.”
At the same time, Finlay never saw herself with the grumpy, detached, somewhat-intimidating man Bullet is. Until one kiss finally happened. And she's soon to find out you shouldn't take everything at face value, and Bullet really is everything she needed and never knew she did. He doesn't talk much, but when he does... Damn! Not only is this man a romantic (even if he claims not to know anything about that, he surely knows how to act accordingly), but a dirty talker, and scorching. And loving. And just... right.

"But now, as he took Finlay in his arms and sealed their promises with a kiss, he realized all that pain had led him to her—and knew he would live through it all over again just to be right there with the woman he loved. His sugar rush. His angel. His everything."
The path that takes us from heartache and misery to happiness is not always a straight line. In the case of Bullet and Finlay, they went through some serious, heartbreaking stuff. Could it have been easier? Sure, but maybe having it easier wouldn't have allowed them to finally meet.
What they found in each other was love, the kind that can fix you if you're broken, or be there to help you stand if you're only a bit bent. The real kind.

description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
So this was a sweet book. I enjoyed it. This author's writing is always fantastic, and this book was no different. That said, I found it slow moving and about halfway through I lost interest. Nothing much was happening and unfortunately, nothing really ever did happen. The plot just wasn't very engaging for me. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet ending.

~HERO~
BULLET... I liked him. I have nothing bad to say about him. He didn't seem to be a manwhore. That said, I could have done without the whole discussion on his posse of women he kept around for sex. But he was a sweet tortured and tattooed dirty talking alpha that loved his family. He was interested in Finlay from the moment he meets her. Although the cheesy pickup line was a bit douchey but all in all he was a decent hero.

~HEROINE~
FINLAY... I liked her character a lot as well. She was sweet and feisty. Wore her heart on her sleeve. Loved her family. She took a TINY bit of time to warm up to Bullet, but she was pretty much all in with him from early on as well. On a side note regarding her character, I wish authors would stop with the whole "heroine has little sexual experience, and it wasn't great." As was the case here with Finlay.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There were quite a few secondary characters in this one. Couples from the previous books. Bullet's brothers and sister. Finlay's sister and a friend. And a woman who it appears will be Bone's heroine in the next book. All of them added some good depth to the story.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Low. This was a super slow burn book (IMO). This couple doesn't get to do the deed until 60% in. Then we only get a few fairly hot sex scenes after that. Bullet and Finlay had OK sexual chemistry and I think that was one reason I struggled to stay interested. I don't know, they lacked spark for me.

~ANGST LEVEL~
None. Seriously, this book was pretty much unicorns prancing through the tulips while farting rainbows. Oh sure Bullet had some issues, but they never caused more than a slight lick of drama. There was also no OW or OM drama.

~IN THE END~
So yea, it was OK. Everything was a bit too perfect and sweet for me. I think my tastes have changed a lot recently and I need a little more "bite" to my stories. I need some angst. I need some adversity. I need some grit. Especially (as was the case here) when a book is fairly long. That's just me though and I am certain this one will appeal to the many readers who love a simple no drama romance. Yours truly is giving this one a solid thumbs up.description

I liked two previous books in this series. But this one was nothing like them.

Apart from the fact, that male protagonist saved a dog and cared for his family - which is great, no doubt - he had nothing I could find in him to like him as a man...

"I’ve got a handful of women I screw when the urge hits. They’re clean. They know me. They don’t give a shit if I leave afterward." He threw his arms out to the sides, an annoyed expression on his face. "What else do you want to know? I don’t fuck them naked. I don’t even give a shit if they come. It’s quick and dirty." He stared back at her, his jaw clenched tight. "It’s not like it is with you. Nothing in my life has been like it is with you. Not even close."

Yeah, let's portray OWs as heartless b*tches and sl*ts, bash them and praise heroine's purity...

I wouldn't give him a 2nd glance after his monologue... but it's me, and to each his own.

Driving Whiskey Wild is the third book in the Whiskey family series and this was a fun one. Even though it did take a while to really get invested in the story, I had a fun time with this pairing and seeing Bullet get his story and what a ride it turned out to be. The more and more I read Melissa Foster, the more I am becoming hooked on her work. And even though this wasn't the biggest page turner in the genre, I still had a fun time with it.

Don’t go after your sweetheart with your brawn, baby. Go after her with your heart. That’s the biggest and best thing that sets you apart from every other tough guy out there.

Driving Whiskey Wild is when Bullet caves to his sister that the bar needs a rehaul so they hire a new resident of the area, an expert and owner of her own catering business....Finlay Wilson. Bullet is tough, ex military and an alpha badass biker who doesn't talk much but has a infinite love for his puppy. But when Finlay arrives, gentle and kind with some hidden fire beneath her boots, Bullet falls hard for her. She is an angel and he doesn't deserve her. But when Bullet makes his move, Finlay is ready to take on this big brawn of a man that has so much toughness but as much vulnerability and wants to dig into those deep layers of Bullet. The more layers that are revealed, the more Bullet and Finlay fight for each other.

Go out with me, lollipop. You don’t have to be a biker girl. Just be my girl.

There are so many depths to Wild Whiskey Wild and I love seeing these hidden depths to characters and we get the reasoning on why Bullet is such a silent soul. There were some serious moments balanced with some laugh out loud moments. Finlay knows NOTHING of biker clubs and so she has to learn the hard way about the culture at times and boy it was hilarious at times especially upon her learning what "church" is .....probably one of the best scenes. Finlay might be ignorant at times of club culture, but she is a fast learner and takes it all in stride. She sticks with Bullet through it all even seeing how overwhelming it is for her seeing as its such a different life than she ever realized. I love that she does accept Bullet for who he is and loves him fiercely.

Surviving and living, being happy, are two totally different things.

Wild Whiskey Wild is a passionate love story that shows the beauty of opposites attract and how an angel and a biker can find their way to their HEA in such a sweet pivotal way......

There's not much more that I love in a book than a big, burly, gruff, heart-of-gold leading man. And Bullet Whiskey is all that and so much more! Bullet is a natural born protector--protecting his family, his business and his country have been his top priorities. Most especially protecting his family--even from the secrets he's kept--and his heart. Until Finlay Wilson.

Finlay is making a fresh start and trying to find her own happiness. She's started her own catering company, and the job helping the Whiskey Bros. expand their bar and business is just what she needs to help move forward with her big plans. Big plans that didn't include Bullet Whiskey. But she;s willing to make an exception because men like Bullet don't come into your life often, and she isn't foolish enough to let him go without a fight.

But what happens when their pasts catch up with the present? Is what they've created enough of a promise for more to keep them together?

To say I loved Driving Whiskey Wild is a gross understatement. I adored both Bullet and Finlay. Adored how their polar opposite personalities and mannerisms and just about everything about them made their relationship that much sweeter to see develop. And let's talk about how I was messaging fellow reader friends that I needed a cold shower after certain *ahem* scenes. Seriously hot and sexy AF. But their relationship was so much more than what happened between the sheets. I loved how they were so real with each other, how open and honest. It was refreshing and wonderful and just perfect. Swoon. ~ Missy, 5 stars

-- AUDIBLE REVIEW --

This was my first book by this author and so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. What I got was a motorcycle club that was anything but stereotypical, a growly alpha with a heart of pure gold, and a love story that sort of snuck up on my feels and then gave them a good wallop. I loved Bullet and Finley’s sexy, angsty, and ultimately super sweet love story! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

******restarting in preparation for Bones' story, started this one on July 29th and paused it because of Finlay lol........ fingers crossed..........

2* for the story 1* for the cover 😁

I decided to write a new review because as I finished the book my thoughts on Finlay changed a bit.

First things first........that cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #drools

Bullet and Finlay met at his brother's wedding whereupon he asked her if she'd like a ride on the Bullet train......which basically sums up Bullet. He is a guy you're either going to love or hate because of his no holds barred honesty and at times crudity. He's suffering from PTSD and relies on his dog Tinkerbell to get through the night. I mostly liked Bullet, yes he was a bit much but he had some really sweet moments and from the time he got an in with Finlay he was all about Finlay. One issue I had however was that in the time between him getting a shot with her and her initial rejection we're not told if Bullet had had sex with anyone else, since I live in perpetual optimism I'm going with no for my own peace of mind. He's never had a relationship and has been with women as just a slam, bam not even a thank you mam. There is however no OW drama or even hint of another woman for him.

Finlay aka lollipop is a sweetheart beloved by all. She had lost her sweetheart Aaron to war and considered herself broken. We're told she's had one disastrous hookup since he died but no strong feelings for anyone. At the beginning I didn't like Finlay, she was overly timid and judgemental but gradually I warmed up to her as she was able to see the man that was Bullet.

Nothing much happened plot wise, just a couple getting to know each other and fall in love. The Whiskeys and other supporting characters are thankfully very present in this one.

The conflict of Aaron being the man Bullet had tried to saved during the war and has been blaming himself for all these years was a minor one and quickly resolved. Though I was definitely not a fan of this or it's execution it didn't cause much unnecessary drama so I was able to look past it.

All in all this was just ok, the sexy times were bland and my favourite words were replaced by shaft and words in that vein so I found myself doubly bored and rolled my eyes a lot at some of the things both Finlay and Bullet said but at the end I didn't hate it. Since I've been regularly looking at the cover(OMG!!!!!) I consider this one well worth the price.

We are introduced to Sarah in this one as she is Bones' h, considering she's pregnant with another man's baby,on the run with her other young kids I'm equal parts intrigued and horrified........on to the next!

Bullet Whiskey drove me wild!

I'm in love with this series!! first with Tru and Gemma (Tru Blue), then Bear and Crystal (Truly, Madly, Whiskey) and now with Bullet and Finlay. Every time I read a book from this series, I love it even more. And this time, it wasn't different.
Bullet and Fin were adorable and filled me with so much love!!

Bullet and Fin, at first sight, could come as completely different. But they so complemented each other. They were each other's missing piece. The one thing they needed (even if they didnt know they did) and that could change their whole lives!

"I don't know what will happen between us, but you say I'm sunshine and you're a winter storm. For me, knowing winter is on the horizon makes the oppressive days of long hot summers more bearable. And on the coldest of winter nights, I have summer to look foward to. They kind of complement each other."

When they first met, the chemistry was already off the charts, but they had no idea how strong their emotional and mental connections could be. All they knew was that, somehow, they changed their view of things.

"I saw you around town, an I swear it lit up the streets. You lit me up inside, and it's been a damn long time since I've felt anything but darkness. How could I ignore the glow of an angel?"

Finlay was sweet, adorable, without even knowing. But she was strong, resilient and she stepped up for what she believed. Bullet was intense. He was a Dark Knight, he was a Whiskey, he was loyal, he was extremely selfless and protective, almost to a fault. He didn't love just a little, he loved with all he had!

"Bullet knew only one way to love, and that was love hard."

Both Fin and Bullet had baggage and a story of pain. Bullet also added guilt to the equation. They were beaten in the past, but they survived. They had demons, specially Bullet, and they still struggled, but they fought and they had each other for that.

"'I thought I was broken, but I think broken is the wrong word for people like us. I think we were affected and hurt, but not broken. Broken implies that we need to be fixed, that we're not good enough to be loved the way we are, or we're lacking in some way. But the more I've gotten to know and care about you, the clearer it's become that fixing isn't part of our equation. You might always have flashbacks or nightmares, and you might never want to be in a house where walls can't disappear.
And I may never get past the hurt of having lost one man I cared about. I don't live my life afraid to love, but until you, I hadn't even come close. You've taught me that I can feel again. And I hope that in time you'll realizse that I want to be with you, and you don't havet to apologize for the parts of you that sstem from your past. Those things that make you you don't deter my feelings. If anything, they make me want to be there for you if you get a nightmare, or experience a flashback. And don't grind your teeth together like that. You're still the biggest badass I knw. Only now I've seen your badass nakes, so I know how big you really are.'
'Christ, lollipop. Where have you been all my life?'"

They were what the other needed. They were the love that gave strengh and the patience that healed. They were amazing together, surprinsingly and perfectly fitting, they belonged to each other.

"You're my angel, the salve to my wounds. You're the other half I never knew I was missing."

The first Melissa Foster book I ever read was Tru Blue and I was so obsessed with that book I can't even begin to explain my love for it. So naturally I had to read the rest of the series and I am so happy that they have all been awesome. I just love the whole family and everything about these amazing characters and their perfect town.

Bullet had probably been the the most closed off Whiskey and I really didn't remember very much about him from the previous stories but that's probably more to do with my terrible memory than anything else. But from the first moment I started to read his story I knew he was right up my book boyfriend alley except you know more alpha and growly and masculine than the words book boyfriend bring to mind. I just couldn't get enough of him and I loved how OTT protective he was. He was just so perfect, I loved him.

Sweet and innocent Finlay was such a perfect contrast to him it was easy to see how she smoothed his sharp edges and complimented him to perfection. And I loved that despite how sweet she was she had a spine of steel and she went toe to toe with him whenever she felt the need without fear but she also was so understanding of who he was and his feelings that she could also just let the unimportant stuff go.

They were so beautiful to watch I spent the whole book in one big swoon. There were a few emotional moments and the "twist" (for lack of a better word) was something I saw coming from the very beginning but they way it was dealt with by both Bullet and Finlay made it so perfect I couldn't have wished for more.

Now my biggest issue is that I was dying to see Sarah and Bones get together from the tiny little hint in this book and now I have to wait til November? Seriously? That feels like forever right now for a book that I am sure is going to be as heartbreaking as it will be epic.

“I want to get so deep in your personal space you won’t be able to tell where I begin and you end.”

“She was a mighty force of good, pure and kind in ways that made him want to be closer to her, to find a way to be a better man for her.”

“Nothing in my life makes sense, Finlay, but you fucking wreck me.”

“You’re my angel, the salve to my wounds. You’re my other half I never knew was missing.”

From swoon worthy romances to alphas with a heart of gold, there is nothing that author Melissa Foster can’t write. And Driving Whiskey Wild is the latest book of hers to steal my heart and give me all the feels.

I never saw Driving Whiskey Wild coming. This book grabbed a hold of me from the very beginning and held my heart hostage. Bullet is broody, mysterious and has an even tougher exterior. He loves those he lets into his life fiercely, but is haunted by his past. So, when sweeter than sweet Finlay comes into his life, he is determined to get rid of her. Only Finlay is not the kind of woman who is put off easily. She may look sweet on the outside, but isn’t about to let Bullet scare her away. She is the total opposite of Bullet, but wild horses couldn’t keep these two away…

Bullet is the kind of guy you can’t help but be drawn to. His presence makes you just want to know more about him. What makes him tick? Why does he feel the need to keep everyone away? What happened to him? And the more you get to know him, the more you see that he is fiercely protective. When he loves, he loves hard and deep. He is a giant with a heart of gold. And even though he knows he’s got more demons than he knows how to handle and that he should stay away from Finlay, he just can’t. Finlay has the biggest heart and sees the good in everyone. She is the light in the dark and understands the need to hide the scars. She knows she is not the kind of woman that Bullet is used to, but she can’t stay away from him. She has to see where their connection will go. And let me tell you, the tension and chemistry just oozes off the two of them. Their pull is irresistible and will keep you begging for more. I just loved this two together. I enjoyed seeing them grow as a couple and overcome the obstacles along the way.

Driving Whiskey Wild was everything I wanted in a Melissa Foster novel and then some. It was well written and entertaining. I was captivated from page one and just had to devour this book in a single sitting. The characters were real and perfectly flawed. I loved that this book had a touch of darkness to it, but still had the light and family feeling that I have come to know and love from this author. Driving Whiskey Wild had just the right amount of steam, alpha moments and light drama.

I loved getting lost in this book and think that it is a wonderful addition to The Whiskey Series. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series and see who’s heart falls next.

Audiobook Review

Narrator: Paul Woodson

Having already read Driving Whiskey Wild (scroll down a bit to see my ebook review) and absolutely adoring Bullet, Finley and the rest of the Whiskey clan, I was excited to see how the story held up on audio for me and I wasn’t disappointed in any way. It bumped up the emotional impact of the story and truly brought the characters to life for me and had me wanting more when the story ended.

I always find myself being a bit anxious when it comes to listening to a new to me narrator, especially when I’ve already read and adored the book, and I’ll admit that it took the first chapter for me to become used to Paul Woodson’s performance, but after that it I because used to the cadence and pacing of his voice and became lost in the story. The various voices for the characters were done well and after settling in, it was easy to differentiate who was speaking without any issue.

Overall, the audiobook version was done very well. The narrator brought the characters to vibrant life and had me falling in love with them all over again!

***5 ‘Sugar Rush’ Stars***

O.M.G the swoons and feels are all kinds of real with this one. Not that I expected any less since we are talking about the Whiskey clan in general and all that, but I actually did the whole blink-blink no there is no excess moisture threatening to fall over my lower lashes thing. This book just did it for me on all fronts and left me in the weird limbo of being absolutely satisfied and still wanting more.

So where to start and NOT become verbal vomit-y?? (Probably too late, but…)

Bullet is a Whiskey through and through. He speaks his mind aka blunt as all get out, does his best to always be honest and is probably one of the most overprotective Alpha AF males you’ll ever meet, but he’s haunted by his past and the guilt that comes from it weighs heavily on his heart and soul. I adored Bullet for all the above reasons and more because his heart is so golden it’s blinding, but man, is he stubborn so much so that not even a titanium pipe to the head would break his tunnel vision.

Finley has moxie and is that intriguing combination of sassy, sweet, naive and determined that keeps you on your toes and want to know what her next move will be. I adored Finley on so many levels, she cooks and bakes, so the food lover in me was all kinds of happy, but it was how open she was and wasn’t afraid to put herself out there and figure things out on her own that I truly admired. The one thing that I did have to wrestle with was her own special brand of verbal vomiting, I know I do it so I should be okay with it, but we are all different and even I had my moments of needing her to just chill.

~ ‘Lollipop & Brutus’ ~

If you love opposites attract romances where the couple in question couldn’t be more different on the surface, but find that they had a more in common than could have ever known, then you will absolutely adore Bullet & Finley’s journey to their HEA. They pushed each other’s comfort zones in such a way that while it made them both uncomfortable, it also made them stronger because of it. The smexy was HAWT and I really enjoyed just how they fit together without getting lost in each other. Their journey has its fair share of bumps, but nothing overly angsty and I liked how they navigated their way through it all.

Obviously, I’m fangirling and kinda verbal vomiting, so I’ll cut myself off soon, but I do have to mention the Whiskey clan and those that apart of their inner circle because they play a large part in why I adore these book. The family dynamic jumps off the page and I love the depth that each one brings to the story. I don’t have a clear favorite because they are all so much fun, but Tinkerbell definitely stole my heart and Kennedy is an absolute doll. But I’m absolutely excited for Bones and Sarah’s book ~ I had a feeling about these two ~ and cannot wait to get my hands on it!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first book in the Whiskey series, but not my first by Melissa. I LOVED THIS! Bullet, oh my gosh, he is everything! That man!

I always enjoy Melissa’s books, and this was no different. I was hooked instantly, and I fell in love with all the characters in the book. Bullet is the man. Honestly, what a dude. The strength and character of Bullet is just fantastic.

I loved Finlay as well, and she and Bullet really complimented each other once they got past their initial annoyances with each other. I did see the reveal coming wayyyy before it happened, but it played out well and was resolved well too.

The story moves in such a way that it isn’t rushed, even though it is fast paced. The secondary characters all compliment the story as well. I’m in love with this family and I cannot wait to read the other books in the series, and I’m really keen for the next instalment too.

There’s a lot of laugh out loud moments in this, and there are also a fair amount of emotional moments where I found myself trying not to tear up.

I also love how this is about characters who are in an MC Club, but of the good kind. A really heartwarming kind of organisation. The whole support network of characters in this is awesome.

A very well rounded story and I highly recommend.

There is just something about The Whiskeys and those around them, the pure love they have for each other, the bond and loyalty between them, the selfless actions they are willing to take for one another when needed makes for such a great read. You can feel the closeness, the secure calming feeling of knowing you are a part of their group. This and the fact that Melissa Foster makes it impossible not to fall in love with Bullet and Finlay will have you thoroughly enjoying the whole story.

Within a few pages I was already smiling at humour between Bullet and Finlay, not willing to let each other get the better of each other, like dogs with a toy, their banter is hilarious. It's definitely a case of opposites attract and the want between them is obviously undeniable, their strong connection poured from the pages. It was also impossible not feel the protective force for Finlay from Bullet from those first chapters.

As the story unfolds they end up being a source of strength for each other, both opening up and helping each other from their hurtful past, easing one anothers pain, growing stronger because of the love they share. Reading how this conflicted hunk of a man freely feeling emotions and love for the first time is years is quite emotional. But will their love for each other be enough to win the battle of emotions they face?

I ended up doing my usual trick when I'm absolutely loving a book of thinking up excuses to keep myself busy so I could hold back from reading the last few chapters so it didn't have to come to an end, I could have happily carried on reading about Bullet, Finlay and the Whiskey family and friends. I'm so looking forward to reading Dixie's story, just imagine how many hoops those Whiskey brothers will have him skipping through just to pass the their test for approval!

They say never judge a book by it's cover, well that's totally not the case for The Whiskeys, just look at that strong muscular body of the deep dark lovable hunk of a man, Bullet, he not only has you drooling at the cover but will have your heart skipping a beat in the story too.

An immense story of healing through love and of the magic that love can bring between two people.

DNF... Ok, I tried. I really did. But if I can't feel anything towards the lead characters or I just don't like them, I can't invest time into the rest of the story. Finley is a stick in the mud. She's prissy, prudish, annoying and just too much like a princess. She may be attracted to Bullet but she has no problem pointing out things that he does that put her off. She wants to change his bar to bring in newer, different people and change the atmosphere to be more appealing to people like her. She's fucking yuppy! When she agrees to go on a date with him she tells him no motorcycle & no bringing his dog. She has issues with his cursing, his attitude blah blah blah... But yet when her sisters want her to break out of stick up her ass persona for a bit she stands firm on sticking to who she really is. But yet she's trying to already mold Bullet into what she finds more appealing. Um can we say hypocrite?! I really wish women weren't all about trying to mold a man into what will make them happy. Get over yourselves! You don't want anyone trying to change who you are then the same thing goes for the man you choose.

So, no, this was a major turn off because I loathe females like Finley.

Driving Whiskey Wild is a beautiful blend of opposites attract, small town romance, MC Club, and ex-military! Finlay is moving back to Peaceful Harbor to be close to her sister and hopefully start a catering business. Bullet Whiskey is out of the military a little worse for wear but running the family bar. He is gruff, suffering from PTSD, and not thrilled to have Finlay around trying to change the bar. Finlay is an adorable ray of sunshine that is completely contrary to Bullet. She is pink, frilly dresses. He is black leather. They are perfect for each other!

I really enjoyed both Bullet and Finlay as characters. Finlay is more than just a sweet, naive woman which I appreciated. It was nice to see a heroine who was girly, generous, kind, and not a naive ninny. I also appreciated that Bullet was more than a brusque jerk suffering from PTSD. He has some lingering struggles, but they are not the only thing about him. Both Finlay and Bullet are layered and dynamic. Their relationship is just as layered and its progression was natural and enjoyable.

There isn't much danger or suspense to the story. The plot centers around these two building a relationship and seeing if they can make something work. They both have a past that creates some blocks, but they navigate them in mature ways. If you like your romance to be sophisticated and not filled with unnecessary angst, Driving Whiskey Wild is the perfect pick for a weekend binge! The characters of this small town are endearing and you will want to come back to Peaceful Harbor!

Driving Whiskey Wild is the third book in The Whiskey series, and like the prior books, it can be read as a stand-alone. However, after reading this installment you will be hard-pressed to read the other books in the series. The story is a perfect depiction of the adage opposites attract.

The protagonists are the complete opposite of each other. Bullet Whiskey is a hard-core biker, while Finlay Wilson is the sweet and pure heroine. Se fascinated Bullet from the moment he laid eyes on her. Sparks ignited in a flash. However, Finlay was not impressed with the manner in which he approached her. However, the more time she spent in his presence she would learn that one should never judge a book by its cover. In this case, one should never judge a man by the number of tattoos he sports.

Now Bullet is not your typical biker, neither is his family. Bullet is a protector by nature, which we see demonstrated in how he treated his family and members of the community. The fact that he loved animals and children showed he was a softie at heart. Beneath all of this though, lay a tortured soul. He struggles with PTSD as a result of his time spent in the military. Guilt due to events, which took place during his service to his country weighed heavily on his heart. As a result he allowed no one to get close to him until the day he met Finlay. She breached the walls he built around his heart.

Finlay is a determined and courageous heroine, who kept Bullet on his toes. In addition to this, she was sweet but feisty. It is no wonder Bullet was enamoured of her. I admired her strength and her compassion. She is not afraid to speak her mind.

Ms. Foster proved once again why she is my go to author for sweet, spicy and drama free romance. I enjoyed watching the interaction between the characters. They both had past issues that would prove a hindrance to their growing relationship. However, they handled these issues like adults, which proved beneficial in the end.

The story moved at a pace, which I thought, was fitting, not too fast, not too slow. I enjoyed the family dynamics and the banter between all the characters. There was a twist, I never saw coming. I thought it was well done and fitting.

Conclusion/Recommendation
This was a well-written story about love and healing. If you are looking for a romantic story free of drama and angst. If you love romance free of drama and angst, then you will enjoy Driving Whiskey Wild. I cannot wait to get my hand on the next book in the series.

After reading this book I'm pretty sure I'm in love with Bullet Whiskey.

I also want to go back and read all the previous books in this series and any other that mention the Whiskey family. Because this book was that good and now I'm hooked.

I loved everything about it from the telling of the first real interaction between Bullet and Finley (his line was horrible) to their sweet yet perfect wrap up in the end of the book and just everything in between.

Bullet is unapologetically gruff and speaks his mind, and while on the surface it might seem like this hardened biker wouldn't fit with the prim and proper caterer with her pretty dresses and dislike of his dirty talk, they end up working so very well. Every new aspect of Bullet's past and his true character I learned about made me love him more, and I wanted happiness for him so much.

I loved the flow of this book and the development of the relationship between the two main characters. I loved how he helped her overcome things and grow just as she did for him.

I appreciate a good standalone in a series where it's not required to have read the previous books, but I certainly want to go back and read them after finishing this one.

Melissa Foster has made a fan of me with her previous works and this is a great example of why I keep coming back for more.

Driving Whiskey Wild was the third book in The Whiskeys series by Melissa Foster.

Bullet Whiskey met Finlay Wilson at his brother’s wedding, previously in the series. They were immediately attracted physically but Bullet was the opposite of everything that Finlay would want in a lifetime mate. He was big, unfiltered, heavily tattooed and too brash. Finlay was syrupy sweet and over the top innocent.

Despite the differences, Bullet kept pursuing Finlay as their paths continued to cross. As such, Finlay kept seeing Bullet’s soft side as they began to develop a friendship. Simultaneously Foster began unraveling some of Bullet’s past trauma that shaped him into who he became today. We also learn that Finlay had a few secrets of her own.

I loved Bullet. He was alpha, protective, loyal, gorgeous, sexy, smart, and troubled. Although Finlay was likable, I like my heroine’s a little tougher and sexier. She was “nun-like” prim and proper to Bullet’s blue collar roughness. However, as the storyline was closing, I began to like her more.

Although it wasn’t my favorite Foster book, it was well written, well developed and enjoyable. It was slow paced for me and I kept getting distracted and putting it down. As a result, I rated it a 3.5; however, this rating site rounds up to a 4.

Foster continued to bring in other support characters, not only from the series but also from her Love in Bloom series. It continued to add depth, but could still be read as a standalone without missing anything. Foster also set the stage well for our next Whiskey brother to fall, Bones, in Wicked Whiskey Love.

In the third book of The Whiskeys series, Melissa Fosters delivers yet another hot read. The twist in this book is that we have an interesting pairing with Bullet and Finlay. Bullet is a MC member and is as badass as it gets and Finlay is much more of a sweetheart than anything else. It was interesting to see how they got along, but I will say that there is a rough start in the beginning as they try to work out each other’s differences.

Even if you haven’t read the other books in the series, I think you can read this book without any problem. However, I always suggest reading in order because you’ll understand the details and cameos of characters and how this book intersects with some of Foster’s other books in the series.

As always, the writing is always smooth and free-flowing. However, like I mentioned, there is a stall in the beginning because of how different these two characters are. I found Bullet to be a little on the mean side, so he’s actually not my favorite hero from this series but I did enjoy Finlay’s character. That being said, I think if you’re a fan of the more moody/brooding heroes, you may find Bullet more attractive than I did.

Driving Whiskey Wild was a fun read. It’s a feel good book, low on angst and drama. It reads well as a standalone or part of the greater The Whiskeys series.

Bullet and Finlay are a classic opposites attract story. Bullet is closed off, gruff, and doesn’t hold back. He’s got a past with baggage he’s still holding onto. Finlay is a sweet woman, a bit on the feisty side. I loved watching these two fall for one another.

Overall, Driving Whiskey Wild was a slow burning read. It was paced well, and the characters were developed. Having read the prior books, I loved seeing the previous couples. I’m so excited to see what comes next for the Whiskeys!

Bullet Whiskey is a military hero but not in his eyes. He hides a secret that haunts him. He was partially saved by his connection to his dog, Tink. After fighting with his connection to his family bar's new hire, Finley. She will save him fully.

Finley is hired to expand the bar by Bullet's sister. She will NOT let his rough, rude exterior towards her run her off. While they have a connection they seem to not fit on paper. He is gruff, she is sweet. He loves motorcycles, she doesnt. He loves his dog, she fears his dog. But as the two spend more time together, as Bullet warms up to her, those things will be blurred and they will find each other.

I like Ms Foster's books. I just wish for more....a twist, a villain, something to give me more than just sweetness. That said I still love her books just not to he 5 star level.

When I'm looking for a romantic, sweet, emotional and heartwarming read Melissa Foster is my go to author.
She has a beautiful way with her words, she gives her readers story lines that will keep you turning the pages and characters that you'll easily connect with and leave you feeling satisfied and with a heart full of love.

And she's delivered another heartwarming read in Driving Whiskey Wild.

From the first few pages I knew Bullet and Finlay were going to make this a fun and heartfelt read.
They were likable, endearing characters that I easily connected with. They made me smile with their banter, they touched my heart with their honesty and willingness to open their heart to one another and Bullet made me swoon with his caring and loving ways. I truly loved watching them fall in love.
These two made a perfect couple and I was very happy to have read their love story.

These Whiskey guys have me intrigued. For someone who doesn't like tattoos or motorbikes, I have been entranced by their strong family values, and the way that the right woman tames them so easily. But then again, that is true of all Melissa Foster alpha males/romances.
There are some OK authors, then there are good authors - who can tell a good story. But then you have authors like Melissa - la creme de la creme. It is an art to be able to write books that contain multi-dimensional characters, with story lines that suck you in from the get go. Her words convey such depth of character, and although her romances usually contain some sort of angst (but quite often laugh out loud moments, too), you always get a HEA. She is not afraid to tackle issues that some other authors may avoid, which just shows her strength of character and deep belief in her craft.
I have shed many a tear reading her books, as I'm sure she has done whilst writing them. But like a 'feel-good' movie, when you finish reading one of her books, there is that deep satisfaction of having read a masterpiece. You just have to sit there and let it all soak in...knowing that you will be re-reading it at some point. And this book is another winner.
This time around we find out all about 'Bullet' Whiskey, and how he falls for his feminine 'Angel' Finlay Wilson. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I will just say that I enjoyed watching big, bad, gruff Bullet fall head over heels for his sweetheart. Enjoy!

Let me ask you all a question. Have you ever listened/read a book and afterwards just sat and cried due to the sheer emotion that was put into the book?

Melissa did this and the emotion in her writing ensures the listener is feeling the emotions the characters are and for me this shows how amazing an author is.

I have loved, laughed and cried at all of her audiobooks but Truly, Madly, Whiskey went beyond that, the emotions you experience in this audiobook is raw. This audiobook deals with a storyline that is outside the norm of HEA but that makes them all the more real.

Some readers will relate to this audiobook due to Bullet's background and what he has been through but there is a line in this audiobook that stood out for me.....

"Broken is the wrong word for people like us, we are affected and hurt, but not broken. Broken implies that we need to be fixed."

I agree with this what you experience through life can change you and can also make you stronger so for anyone to think they aren't good enough or need to be fixed because of what they have went through is wrong and this book and that line sends that message clearly. A message that will hopefully strike a chord as it did with me.

The Whiskeys are family, a family who protect their own and love with their whole hearts. Bullet and Finlay may be opposites but they are perfect for each other, they compliment each other and Finlay is exactly what Bullet needs.

I hope you enjoy this audiobook as much as I did, when I finished listening I wanted to go back and listen to it again, amazing!!!

Can I just start by saying that I might have highlighted the whole book, there were just SO MANY great lines that either made me laugh out loud, stop and think, or tear up. I already loved the Whiskey family from reading TRU BLUE and TRULY, MADLY, WHISKEY, but we don't get to see too much of Brandon "Bullet" Whiskey, ex-Special Forces and all around broody, I might add SUPER sexy, but yes broody. In walks this streak of sunshine and brightens up his whole world. I don't think he even knew he was living half a life until she walked into it. Finlay was fantastic. She was a girly girl, but tough enough to stand up to this giant, who she finds out has a heart of gold. What did she say about him...inside he was a marshmallow. I loved all of their moments together, even the small ones. She just wormed her way into his heart/life/head and made him accept her love. GAH...I loved them!

And the sexy times...WHEW!!!!! Melissa Foster knows how to write the hell out of a sex scene! You know, when it's perfectly described that you literally get lost in the pages and maybe even need a cigarette after (LOL)....yep, that's a Melissa Foster type of scene! Bullet and Finlay are like gas to a flame, cause when they get together things IGNITE!

If you have not yet started this series, you are MISSING OUT! DRIVING WHISKEY WILD comes out Feb 21st, so you have time for a binge read! Well...what are you waiting for?

Where or how to start this one is my dilemma. I want to tell you all the things that I loved about this one. But then I have to figure out where exactly to start with that. The sweetness of Finlay. The rough, gruff, alpha of Bullet. The fact that the Dark Knights were in need of help and that help came from the outside. The Dark Knights were a family unto them selves but add the fact the Whiskey clan were there also. I just don’t have enough words to explain the connection that I have felt to this family since the first read with Gemma and Tru. It continued on with Bear and Crystal. I saw no reason for it not to continue with Finlay and Bullet. For me the show as all about Finlay and her sweet innocence and her attraction to Bullet and his to her. I would say that you don’t have to read the two prior books but it would give you a true baseline for this characters and there direction. I loved getting know them all and their story as they came along.

Once Bullet and Finlay had a chance to connect with each other things bloomed and became more. There was so much to get to know about the two of them and watching them discovery each other was nice. Bullet was complicate yet open. He was a man that experienced much and had so much more to cope with. He was a man that wanted to protect but was not so much wanting to be protected. He found something in Finlay that called to his beast and the protector in him. He took his own approach to getting what he wanted and Finlay was it. Bullet and Finlay find that they have a common ground to build on. This was a beautiful story.

Cons to the story may have been that Finlay did appear to be overly sweet. Bullet may have been just a bit over the top with is hesitance. The pacing was not fast or full-blown on a specific course. There were some slow spots. There was a clip to the ending that gave me some pause for a moment or two. But when it was all said and done Melissa Foster gave me a read that I could wrap around and fall in love with and then open the wrapping and do it again.

The Whiskey’s series:
Tru Blu – The Whiskey’s, #1
Truly, Madly Whiskey – The Whiskey’s, #2
Driving Whiskey Wild – The Whiskey’s, #3
Wicked Whiskey Love – The Whiskey’s, #4 COMING

*I received this book as an ARC for a review!*

3.75 stars!

This was a really enjoyable and another cute read by Melissa Foster!

Bullet and Finlay... They where such a cute couple! I think they are my favorite of the couple so far, and I really liked Bear and Crystal. Finlay was just such a sweet, kind and caring person and I loved how she stuck up for herself when Bullet was being a little bit to protective.

Speaking of protective... Even though I loved how Finlay could stand up to Bullet I also enjoyed how protective and sweet he was towards her. I also enjoyed being able to see inside of his mind as in the past two books he was super mysterious, and I loved how he got closure for some of the things that happened in his past and that Finlay could help him through this.

What I adore about this series is the family aspect and care that the Whiskey's and their close friends have for each other. They will drop everything to help each other out. I also adore that there are animals in these stories and they are not just seen once and forgotten about, as I know animals are a huge part of many people lives.

Also that ending was perfect! I am looking forward to Bones' story!! He seems even more mysterious then Bullet...

Take a ride on the BULLET TRAIN!

This story was so sweet and heartbreaking at the same time.

Bullet Whiskey is the typical sexy alpha male, and protector of his family. His time in the military/special forces has left him broken and fighting with his demons. These demons tend to make Bullet push away those who he cares about.

Finlay is this sweet girl who Bullet has had his eyes set on since his brothers wedding.
After rejecting a ride on the Bullet Train, and moving back home Finlay is now temporarily working to at Whiskey Bro's.

Now with Finlay so much closers Bullet will do anything in his power to convince her to give him a chance.
Their romance comes easy and perfect but will it last when their pasts collide?

Finlay and Bullet's story is perfect. Bullet is everything an alpha male should be. I have yet to read any of the other Whiskey Brothers stories but after reading Bullet's I will definitely be reading them.
This is a perfect read, you won't regret it.
