Join Port Zahir’s ultimate professional retribution service.

The first morning of my posting to Port Zahir didn’t start well. Revenge Squad Incorporated’s outpost was deserted, the police took me in for some applied brutality, and a religious cult tried to recruit me. Even so, Fate decided to take things easy on me for my first day, because it wasn’t until the afternoon that people start trying to kill me.

My name is NJ McCall, and this is the story of how Revenge Squad’s least-qualified new recruit stumbled across merciless revolutionaries while being assaulted from every quarter by the craziness that is everyday life in Port Zahir. It’s about what happens when you meet a bona fide war hero, your alien wife develops an obsession with human body parts, and you sip coffee with a Catholic bishop who knows every mercenary in town.

But most of all, it’s about how much fun you can have on a warm, sandy beach when you’re tied to a post below the high water line, and the tide’s coming in.

‘Hurt U Back’ is the short opening novel for Revenge Squad, the new urban fantasy/ space opera crossover series by Tim C. Taylor set in the worlds of the Human Legion. Fans of Jim Butcher’s ‘The Dresden Files’ will feel at home here as much as followers of science fiction adventures from A.G. Riddle, Peter F. Hamilton, and Tanya Huff.

Marines and aliens, what more do you need?

The premise of the story, ADT security with a twist. We don't protect you or your property, but will mess up anyone who violates you or yours. Jobs created for "demobbed" vets whose skills are mostly related to killing people and breaking things. But these vets are more than that. There is depth to their character and their actions are not always predictable. And neither is their tale. There are twists and turns that will surprise you. There are characters you will love and hate. A very good read, start to finish. Ordering book 2 today.

Ndeki Joshua McCall, a retired marine with many ghosts and a seriously messed up mind. Revenge Squad are in the insurance business, mess with their client and they take revenge, with interest.
NJ has unique issues and I found him funny as well as fascinating, Silky is also a strong and engaging character.
The whole book is exciting, action packed and had me enthralled from beginning to end. A great way to start this series.
