"Sometimes going backward can open up a can of worms."

Emery Turner feels something in her life is missing. She's happy, has a great social life, a blossoming career, and is expecting a proposal any day now from her beau, Chaun. Still, she's not as content as she thought she would be this time in her life. A business deal brings her college sweetheart - Kent Alexander back to D.C., and Emery's life takes an unexpected turn. Is Kent the piece of the puzzle she's missing?

Four years have passed since Kent and Emery have seen each other, and one would have thought that the distance between them would have faded their love. However, when the two reconnect they're reminded of all the reasons they fell in love in the first place.
But there's only one problem -- neither of them are single.

Follow the story of two long lost lovers Kent and Emery, who learn the hard way that it's impossible to let go without closure.

Woooow!!!

This was my first read by this author and at times this book was kind of all over the place. Don't get me wrong it was a really good book, I like that she took us back to when they first met and allowed Emery and Kent's story to be told. She also gave the other characters their shine. I swear I almost threw my tablet a good 5 or more times, I was so dang pissed are Emery. Her and Kent's love was strong and despite trying to start over with other people. I loved that their friends and family continue to encourage them to go after the live they lost.

Chaun and Giselle were both selfish as hell, especially Chauncey, ik it was a catch to him wanting Emery back and she feel for it.
I don't agree with how Kent just left the assistant hanging, he should've told her what was going on.

P.S. this book ends on a cliffhanger😒

Omg !! How can you not fall in love with Kent and Emery?! Their love story is one for any hopeless romantic. But the twist and turns they go through, keeping you in suspense, hoping they get it right will have you on edge ! I just fell in love with all of the characters, and everyone needs a bestie like Emery’s!! This is a MUST read and I’m hoping that a sequel is in the works because the author just left me sitting here in awe and upset because I just need to know what happens next ! Totally worth the purchase, she has definitely become one of my favorite authors !!

It was JUST BARELY okay!

The ridiculous typos (switching the boyfriend's name for the sister's name, etc), the unexplained last moments with Emery and Chaun and the super cheesy ending with Navia. It looks like Ratchet drama will be added to part 2 if there is one even though the characters are supposed to be classy. This book really didn't do it for me. If felt like a rush job.

Oh Well

Closure did not happen for this couple. In fact, this story ended with a huge opening for the couple to have some big problems. I can wait!
