In this third installment of the ‘Delta Force’ series, we turn our attention to the war against a ISIS or Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. Islamic State is a tenacious and formidable foe - one where the U.S. Special Forces have fought some of their bloodiest battles since Vietnam on the streets of Ramadi and Fallujah. Delta Force has been involved in the high tempo war against ISIS since the beginning. Working with US Navy SEAL’s and the SAS on joint operations in support of the Iraqi military and Kurdish forces. In May 2015, a joint operation between the SAS and Delta Force was undertaken to take out Abu Sayyaf a top ISIS financier. The SAS was also tasked with performing reconnaissance on the target before Delta Operators being directed by the SAS went in to take out Sayyaf. This was a classic joint forces operation and one of many high tempo operations undertaken by Delta Force in Syria and Iraq covered in this engaging and insightful action packed story.
Very good read! Hard to put down very interesting well written and well researched history of this area.
Most casual readers do not realize what is currently going on in that part of the world or that are special forces her heavily involved and continue to shape it. Definitely would recommend this book!
It is good information about the special forces in Syria and Iraq about Delta Force as they have been around for quite some time they send them in first followed by the Navy Seals. There is a number of spelling faults in Steve Stones,s books other than that they are good books to read.
This book is in desperate need of an editor! BUT although it can be a bit hard to read with the errors it is such a great book I could not put it down! Thank you Steve Stone for all of your hard work and service to us all! I was at Ramstien for Desert One and deeply felt your analysis. Thank you!
It’s amazing how much planning and intelligence gathering goes into these missions and how much skill and dedication the operators have , so I’m surprised no one proof read the script before printing, typo city dude
