This is not an excessively detailed book. The nervous system is notably more complex than any other systems, and to study it in minutiae isn't worthwhile for the average medical student. Snell does an excellent job of providing clinically relevant information. He himself says he has tried to leave out what he considers medically unimportant. So it is important to consider who this book is written for.

The illustrations (especially the midbrain cross-sections) were informative and could easily be drawn. The information in the topics was again provided in the form of charts. 5/5 for formatting.

I highly appreciated the clinical boxes at the end of the chapters. Mostly you could read those and get the geist of what was said earlier. And the pathways.

My only nitpick is that it needs a good glossary, so that students can know what a Lemniscus is without wasting time looking it up elsewhere.
