I am being extremely generous giving this 3 Stars. This review covers the first, second, and third books in a five part series by Lexi Kinsley. This series had so much potential, I love a good kidnapping for revenge storyline. I don't normally judge too much for grammar mistakes but in this case it was entirely too many mistakes. At times the writing seemed very immature and almost like the author was just listing things instead of telling an actual story. The constant switching from third to first person was also annoying as hell. Honestly, I only read the first three books in the series because the story started to drag and I saw that the last two books were 156 and 274 pages. There's too many books in my library that need to be read so reading another 430 pages of mistakes that could possibly drag on is not gonna happen. James Robinson is 28 years old and the CEO of Robinson Corporation, a multi-billion dollar shipping and trade company. Two years ago his Mother fell in love with a horrible man who destroyed her heart and swindled her out of millions of dollars. After having her heart broken his mother had a breakdown and attempted suicide numerous times leaving James with no other choice but to have her committed to a psychiatric hospital. He believes the man who destroyed his mother is Richard Jackson and he's planned his revenge by using Richard's daughter. Miley Jackson is 26 years old, since she completed Graduate school two years ago she's been working as a Marketing Assistant. She's just accepted a new job in South Korea where she'll be a Marketing Manager in one of the company's departments. She spent a year during her undergraduate years studying in South Korea and she's fluent in the language. Unfortunately Miley never makes it to the airport because James picks her up instead of a taxi. He brings her to his secluded home in the woods four hours from Seattle where she lives. A few things that made absolutely no sense to me were why did it take him two years to find out what Miley's name was and what she looked like. Also the job she accepted in Korea was with his company and he didn't know that until he read her file. And lastly if he was plotting his revenge for two years and he had highly paid investigators on the case how did he screw up so epically by blaming the wrong man.

Interesting book to say the least, however I was extremely disappointed with the fact that the rest of the series had been took down from Amazon. When I asked the author where or if I could buy the rest I was told in no uncertain terms that they don’t exists anymore, and that I should buy another series that he/she has written. Yeah thanks but no thanks, I’ll pass on the offer.

A tense and exciting story

There is definitely more to this story and I can't wait to read and find out. The author does well building up the suspense and sexual tension between the lead characters. It helps that they are both gorgeous.

Appalling.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Badly written. Teenage fantasy writing at best. Even for free this is an astonishingly painful read. Don't waste your time.
