I love the idea of love conquering all, and that is what drove me to begin the Great Escapes series, where the reader follows couples meeting up in exotic locations around the world. In this series, each book is a stand-alone, and each can be read in any order.
But readers, be forewarned, there is a healthy amount of steam in these books!

This was a nice holiday read. I was happy that Lexi was finally able to find a man that liked her for her. Since her money always attracted the wrong people. I was happy that her and Adam got their HEA in the end. He was such a nice guy and I'm glad that their families got along too.

Not having read other books by the author before, I was really intrigued by the synopsis and the cover! Right away we get to meet Lexi Stuart, after multiple fail attempts at finding love, she is quickly losing hope of ever finding Mr. Right. All of those that have shown interest in her are after her money and she is tired of being used. So when it comes time for her to meet the rest of her family at a retreat in Lake Tahoe, Lexi is ready to relax and have a good Christmas. What she wasn’t expecting to bump into was yet another gorgeous guy just in time for Christmas. Meeting Adam was never in her plans, but after spending time together the two seemed to get along really well and that all turns into so much more rather quickly. But soon Lexi starts to question what they have and it’s her insecurities that ultimately get in the way. Now it’ll be up to her to decide if giving their relationship a try is worth it or not.
Adam Hunt never expected to meet Lexi Stuart, but after spending time with her he knows that she is it for him, now he just have to convince her to give in to a relationship with him before it’s too late. I liked the overall idea of the story, what I wasn’t so sure about was the characters themselves. I couldn’t connect with Lexi, her insecurities overshadowed everything else about her and made it hard to understand her decisions in the book. Adam was great, her was understanding and caring. The fact that he wanted to be with Lexi no matter was really sweet. We do get some steamy scenes in the story, but that was it. There was very little excitement, but it wasn’t that bad at all. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a quick holiday read. :)

Lexi Stuart is on the way to meet up at a holiday retreat with her family, when she gets snowed in with another group. Lucky for her, hunky Adam is one of those guys and hits her radar as a potential lover almost straight away. Again, this book struck me as just a really sweet romantic story – but it didn’t really stand out for me and felt a bit stale at times. It's a little early yet for Christmas books, but if your in the mood early this makes for a good for a heartwarming holiday book.

This was a nice little Christmas love story, I kinda wish that I’d been able to read it closer to Christmas but I enjoyed it non the less.
Lexi has all but given up on finding love until she meets Adam over a Christmas break at Lake Tahoe.
This book is told in the 3rd person, the writing flowed nicely I was able to picture the beautiful snowiness of Lake Tahoe and I’ve never even been there.
I enjoyed the relationship between Lexi and Adam, the pace in which they fell in love was good. The sex scenes are steamy and there are plenty of them. I liked the chemistry between them as well, for people who are fairly different from one another they clicked really well.
The only thing I didn’t really like was t Lexi’s insecurities, she over thought things and this could have been avoided if she and Adam had just communicated a lot better.

Awesome book about people finding themselves and learning to love. Lexi had reserved rooms at Black Bear Lodge by a lake. for Christmas. Adam was staying there with his family. The pass was closed behind Lexi leaving most of their family caught for a few days. Lexi and Adam had a chemistry between them. This book contains insecurities, demons from the past, sexy scenes, jealousy, lust, determination, and love. Can Lexi leave the past and her insecurities behind her? Will Adam still want to see Lexi after they leave the Lodge? Will this Christmas change their lives? Find out the answers i this book. I was enthralled in it.
Charlotte is a very talented writer who builds her plot and interweaves her two dimensional characters into the story. I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Christmas at the Lake is a book you';ll want to cuddle up with when the weather gets chilly, it will definitely warm you up, could even inspire you like it does me about the thought of skiing. Good story-line, flowing smoothly with the great buildup of anticipation. Great characters with flaws only love could diminish and sizzling attraction. Sexy, raw, emotional, a read I really couldn't put down until I finished the last page. .

Well written story about Lexi, an accomplished woman with money who seems only to attract men who want her for her money or sex. She meets Adam at a resort she is staying at with family for Christmas. He wants just Lexi. Lots of action and self examination. The characters are well developed. Highly recommended.

Excellent Story
Lexi has everything. Money--lots of it--beauty, a healthy career, and confidence. So why is her confidence suffering when she meets Adam? He's good-looking, financially secure, kind, and athletic. The complete package. It all starts at a resort in Lake Tahoe, and with a family Christmas. Great story. I couldn't put it down. Loved it.

Doesn't matter. I like the whole concept of the book. Money, job, things, are great.....they can buy you tons of stuff. Without fun, happiness, friends and love might as be the old Lexington.

This was sweet romance, not the type that clings you to the story, but one that is easy to read. It had great loveable characters, and plenty of heat.
Lexi is a bit of a loner, she's smart, rich and a workaholic. A Christmas holiday at Lake Tahoe, will be beautiful as much as irritating. Seeing her father and one of her brothers will be perfect, but an on going issue with her older brother means she'll be on tender hooks. After just beating the snowstorm, she arrives at a gorgeous lodge, her home for a few days, but with no family she on her own until she sees a gorgeous man by the fire... All of a sudden the hold up of her family might just work in her favour. What's wrong with a little Christmas fun.....
Adam is at the lodge to spend Christmas with his family as well, and in tyre Dane boat a Lexi, he at least has his brother and very pregnant sister in law. One 1st sight of a stunning woman, the cool outside is creating show serious hat inside. 1st glances, 1st drinks, 1st games.... end in hot nights... Adam sees something in Lexi, she’s everything and one night is not enough.
With Christmas festivities, done and everyone heading home, Lexi and Adam are left in a precarious position, they don't exactly fit together, but their attraction is more than one night.... Letting go of her set way of life, to find something with Adam opens up wounds she’s kept hidden forever.
