The Billionaire Shifter's True Alpha

Rate this book
Sophia Stanton is a confident billionaire bear shifter who enjoys the finer things in life — especially fine men. Unlike her twin brother, Derry, she has no plans to settle down with just one mate. Why limit yourself to a single taste when you can have a little lick of everything?

She's rich. Powerful. Well-educated. A statuesque, sexually liberated woman who towers over most men and who turns into one of the most fearsome beasts in North America.

What man — or shifter — could give her what she truly needs?

Zach Hayden was an ordinary guy until an accident in Sophia’s brother’s research lab left him howling at the moon. Turned into a werewolf by the same serum he helped to create, biochemist Zach is now seven inches taller, has seventy pounds of new muscle, and, well — everything got bigger.

Unconvinced he’s adjusted to his transformation, the Stantons confine Zach at their family compound in Montana, where Sophia offers to teach him how to manage his new powers — and libido. But when they both hear The Beat, an old shifter legend that guarantees they are made for each other, is falling in love their fate — or is it just wishful thinking?

When her powerful family questions his motives and powers, can Zach rise to the occasion —

And become Sophia’s true alpha?

This is a recap based on my recollection, since I was trying to catch up on reviews, and realized I never wrote one for this. It isn't a bad entry in this series, it's pretty on par for most of them (except for book #2, which is it MILES better than - I did NOT like that one). The writing can get a bit flowery, but the 'verse is one I was interested in and I really liked these two characters in particular. The final obstacle was a bit all over the place, though and the overarching storyline wants to be more than it is, which is my big peeve with the entire series. But if you like shifter romances, you may enjoy this series more than I did.

Emotionally thrilling, spine tingling action packed romantic adventure filled with mystery, danger and so many sizzling hot sparks it could very well melt an e-reader.

Sophia Stanton is a very powerful bear shifter and she is confident, sassy, sexy and so in charge. Zach Hayden is sexy, smart and becomes a larger then life shifter due to an accident in the lab. This couple is hot, sexy and so thrilling to read about, loved every heart pounding twist and turn in this sexy paranormal romance.

I received an ARC for an honest review

This is book 5 of the series, but the first I read. I enjoyed it very much, once I started, I didn't want to put it down. Diana Seere is actually the writing team of Julia Kent (who I love) and Gretchen Galway (whose books I've enjoyed in the past). The writing was so seamless and flawless, I actually forgot it was 2 separate authors.

I will be checking out the previous books in the series.

I really liked the previous book, but this was lacking. There was very little plot. It was mostly sex, thinking about sex, wanting sex, missing sex, yada yada. I thought there would be more storyline considering how Zach became a shifter. And the bad guy was barely involved. Zach and Sophia's relationship was weird. But I will read the next book and hope the plot and storyline improve.

This series keeps getting BETTER😍 With accident, hope, love & Babies, this is perfect!

After 8 months, finally fit after A lab accident that Changed Zach to a shifter, he wants to go home. But..

After encountering Sophia, he loses his control (Shifter puberty OR the beat😁?) & Is transported to Stanton Ranch.

There, Sophia becomes his mentor teaching him control with their sexual Urges ;-)

They hear the beat, but he doesn't trust anyone. After all he's just a prisoner here.

Powers due to serum & being a past paramedic, he helps in the birth of Lilah & Gavin's twins❤ (So swoony😍) Bless him.

Finally gained their trust, he's free to go. Overwhelmed by confusion, fear, Sophia's baby fever & his unknown fate, he leaves. Breaking her heart.

Fate works to pull them back together though. With Sophia being pregnant(yay!) & Tomas the bastard, back..
He has to fight & prove himself, to her.
& He does! Cue the HEA❤

Even Asher has to admit being wrong about Zach (A big feat!)

P.s. Asher's being So hot & Cold to Dr. Sam. I'd so love to see that bastard falling in love!

The only book I'm looking forward to more than Sophia's is Asher's and it looks like I have a little while longer to wait for that one. Zach's situation made my heart bleed. Suddenly and accidentally thrust into this world he knows nothing about; mistrust and suspicion at every turn. And with a man as miserly with information as Asher Stanton in charge of telling him what's going on, I'm not surprised Zach came to some bone-headed conclusions. It was fascinating to watch fate curtail Sophia's freedom, to see that voracious appetite focused on a single individual. In spite of all that, Zach and Sophia drove me absolutely mental. I still haven't decided if I should hug them tight or shake some sense into them. But this seems to be a pattern for the Stanton siblings and their significant others. It takes something radical to get them past their own self-involvement to see the miracle of their connection. And I adored seeing the interactions with all the extended Stanton family.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

This paranormal romance had so much great world-building that I wish I had read more of the series. This book centered around Zach adjusting to his new life after a lab accident turned him into a shifter. Sophia, a bear shifter herself, once propositioned Zach for a one night stand, only to be turned down. He was human then and barely resisted Sophia. But now, everything between them has changed. I really enjoyed this paranormal romance and definitely want to go back and read more of this series. And definitely looking forward to the next story, which hopefully will be about Asher and Sam?

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Good

I've only read one other story in this series. So it is nice to have some continuation, but you can read them independently. This story was okay for me, it has a lot more misunderstandings with sex in between.

Another intriguing and rivetting read in the life of the Stantons; this time the Beat brings together Sophia and Zach. There is no doubt in Sophia’s mind that she can hear the Beat, but Zach doesn’t want to admit or accept that he can hear it too; not until, as a lifeline and a beacon, it brings him to Sophia when he is in need the most. In addition, there are subtle references to Asher’s hidden feelings for Samantha, the complication involving the arrival of Lilah’s twins, and the ongoing danger Tomas represents to the shifter world; all this culminates to make this an interesting and gripping story. All in all an excellent book that I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Zach has healed and now wants his freedom, but he cannot go back to the life he had before. Everything has changed for Zach now. After accidentally injecting himself with a serum he wasn’t given full information about, he turns into a wolf; his senses are now keener, sharper and he can pick up on emotional vibrations. In addition, Zach possesses unknown shifter abilities and powers, but they are more complex than he realises; not only that, he has become a complication. But was Zach really responsible for the accident, or had this been orchestrated by someone else and, if so, why? When Zach is confronted by a magnetic pull to the Platinum Club it brings him into contact with Sophia; it is then that he realises that nothing is under control, least of all him. Sophia is a bear shifter with a passion for life; not just sex, but adventure, action, achievement. Zach had humiliated Sophia a long time ago, the only man who had ever rejected her; but how things had changed because he didn’t look as if he would reject her now. Sophia had not made an impression then, but she is certainly making one now. Sophia agrees to train Zach at the Stanton’s ranch; if he is not taught how to manage himself and use his powers for good, Zach could become an even bigger problem for the shifter world than Tomas. It comes to the point where Zach begins to feel like a prisoner; all he wants to do is leave the ranch and return home to Boston. With the impending birth of Lilah’s babies, Sophia has Baby Fever but Zach doesn’t understand the implications of this; he cannot believe Sophia is asking for a baby and wants time to consider. Zach is not ready; for him it is all too much, too soon. So much remains to be discovered about Zach’s powers, but when he is confronted by Tomas, his inexperience with shifting from one form to another becomes his downfall. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Standard shifter romance

Zach was the victim of a lab experiment last year, became a wolf shifter, feels he's healed, and wants his life back. Guess he never watched Spiderman, huh? Wonder if he feels an affinity to Captain America.

Sophia is a billionaire bear shifter who is very sexually active. She's in the building the same day Zach wants out. They meet, Zach has to be tranquilized, and she offers to train him in how to be a shifter at the family ranch in Montana. After all, the family owes him some recompense beyond money.

The friction of Zach’s individual freedom vs the shifter community's safety is explored, though not deeply and with no answer. I didn't see much character development in individual histories, interactions with outsiders, hopes and dreams, gut-wrenching struggles, nothing to make these people real; and they experience no growth other than what's forced on them as circumstances change. There are no setting details in Boston or Montana; we should've at least gotten a wolf's perspective on running on the ranch. The plot is typical shifter romance: they meet and know they're fated mates, some plot device keeps them apart, they work to overcome that, and happily ever after. Except this story's plot doesn't have the main characters work to overcome anything, Zach just has to accept fate. We never learn if he'll return to the lab, even after belly aching about being bored.

There's an overarching plot of some other shifter, Tomas, who wants shifters to come out in the open and rule humans. He meets Zach, reveals some of his plans, they fight. But this doesn't really have much to do with Zach and Sophia, more with Asher.

Do I need to read books before this one: no, though the overarching plot would be clearer
Would I read more of the series: yes
Cliffhanger: the overarching plot, but this book can be read as a stand-alone
POSSIBLE TRIGGERS
Sex: multiple, multiple scenes
Language: 22 F words, 46 Lord's name in vain, 10 S words
Violence: fights (oral and physical)

CRITIQUE (spoilers)
A legend is mentioned, that Zach may be part of it, but that's all we get. What legend??
And what are these books in a different language? What is their significance?
Did Sophia not come near the building while Zach was healing? If they met a year ago, why didn't they hear the Beat then?
Sophia at one point thinks Zach had had the spirit of a shifter his whole life, but that's not followed up on. Is that why she hit on him in the elevator last year? If so, why didn't she feel the Beat?
Can humans even feel the Beat?

This is an okay addition to this series, but I did get annoyed with how the Stanton family kept treating Zach. They were afraid of his abilities, since he was created accidentally from a shifter serum, so they basically kept him prisoner at their ranch. I get why they were worried, but it was unfair of them to not let him leave. For this reason, it gets only 3 stars from me.

I liked Zach, and thought he handled everything that happened to him really well, especially since it completely changed his life. I got irritated with Sophia, because it took her a long time to understand why Zach didn't want to stay at her family's ranch -- she loved him, but she didn't get that he wanted freedom? I couldn't believe she was that dense.

All through this series, Asher has annoyed me. He was obnoxious, rude, and tried to control everyone around him. I get that he was lost in his grief, but that was no excuse to treat everyone else so poorly. I will read his story, but I honestly don't see how he can redeem himself.

The story had a lot of sex, which was pretty explicit, so avoid it if you don't want to read about that. It also bothered me that both the H/h seem sex-crazed. The emphasis on sex made me wonder if they were really in love, or if their relationship was really more about lust.

The books in this series can be read standalone, but I don't recommend it. The reader will enjoy them more if they are read in order, as they each build on the overarching plot.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Title: The Billionaire Shifter’s True Alpha
Series: Billionaire Shifter’s Club Book #5
Stand Alone Title: yes
Author: Diana Seere
Genre: Romance, Paranormal
Blurb: Sophia Stanton is a confident billionaire bear shifter who enjoys the finer things in life -- especially fine men. Unlike her twin brother, Derry, she has no plans to settle down with just one mate. Why limit yourself to a single taste when you can have a little lick of everything?

When her powerful family questions his motives and powers, can Zach rise to the occasion—

And become Sophia’s true alpha?
Thoughts: One thing I didn’t really like about the book was the heroine. Sophia was just a bit too conceited and had such a high opinion of herself that it kind of turned me off. Don’t get me wrong, I like a heroine who is confident and self-assured, but it seemed to just be a constant and overwhelming thing that overshadowed the rest of the book for me. Otherwise it was a decent paranormal read, but probably not one that’s going to stand out in my mind a few months from now.

Sophia is the last of the wealthy Stanton shifter family to have never been married or engaged to be married, and she likes it that way. Why tie yourself down to one shifter or human when there is such a plethora of tasty options?

Zach was a brilliant scientist working at LupiNex Labs for Sophia's brother, Gavin. They were studying and trying to stabilize shifter DNA (though none of the humans know that). So those who do not want to be a shifter, might have that option. Also for those who marry a human, who can die in childbirth with a shifter baby, like Asher's wife, the oldest of the Stanton family. Zach was bumped and got shifter serum in his system. He immediately had an uncontrolled shift and has needed months of surgeries.

Tomas has his own agenda with LupiNex's studies. He wants shifters to quit hiding from humans and take their rightful place as the dominant species in the world.

The story begins with Zach wanting out of his months long controlled clinical setting where his every move is observed. He wants to try to reclaim a "normal" life. He leaves the labs and almost has an uncontrolled shift again when he meets Sophia, who he wants to mate with immediately.

The Stantons tranquilize him, put him on a private jet and bring him to their estate where he will be far from humans and can learn to control his new body. Sophia takes it on herself to be his teacher. They have chemistry, and eventually more, as their relationship develops. You will enjoy how they learn a lot from each other through the book. Find out if Sophia can become a one man woman, if Zach can learn what he truly is in the shifter world and if this unlikely couple can be fated mates for a lifetime. This book is part of a series about the shifter world, but can be fully enjoyed as a stand-alone paranormal story.

About my ratings: 5 stars is reserved for life-changing literature; 4 stars means I really, really enjoyed the book.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

To be honest, shifters and were-things are not typically my jam, but man, I am really enjoying this series in spite of myself. Each book is great as a standalone paranormal romance, but if you read them together you'll get even more out of them. There's an interesting backstory unfolding regarding the were-stuff and I can't wait to see how it ends!

In The Billionaire Shifter's True Alpha, we get to know Zach, a guy who used to be a regular human, but due to a lab accident, he has become a shifter. The Stanton family, whose company owns the lab where Zach had this incident, doesn't know what to do with him. He now possesses knowledge which is potentially highly dangerous, and the Stanton siblings can't agree on how to handle him. Eventually Sophia takes responsibility for Zach -- but sparks begin flying immediately. Is it just amazing sexual chemistry, or will it be something more? Bear shifters like Sophia aren't typically cut out for monogamy, but there's something about Zach...

I think Sophia might be my favorite of the Stanton siblings (thus far, at least). She is beautiful, sex-positive, body-positive, in touch with her feelings and honest with herself, even when she's experiencing something she never expected to. And so many things go on in this installment, involving all the Stantons (so we have a chance to catch up with our favorites from previous books in the series), and the mysteries of the LupiNex company, the shifter serum, the bad guys, etc. Reading this made me really crave the final book; it's not even released yet but I'm already looking forward to re-reading the whole series!

This is book 5 in the series that I hope goes on forever.

Sophia had always been my favorite Stanton sibling. She is the only female with 4 brothers one of which is her twin. They are all shifters and she happens to be a bear shifter. Sophia has always been kind of loose and makes no excuses for it, she owns what she wants which is usually no relationships. She has never been turned down by anyone until one day a man that works in her brother's lab says no.

Zach is a man who has no family and works hard at the lab until one day there is an accident and he has been stabbed with a serum that make him a shifter as well. He is immediately put in lockdown at the facility and not allowed to leave the building. Zach has been turned into a werewolf shifter and his body has changed immensely to handle his new shifting ability.

Zach is being given new responsibilities to see how he will be able to handle is new life. He is allowed to leave the building but upon the chance to go he suddenly is drawn further into the club, where he runs into Sophia. He can not control this sound he feels, and his need to be with her. When he gets to the club he finds it is none other than Sophia Stanton and he remembers all to well turning her down because he did not want to be a one night stand for her.

Will Sophia and Zach ignore their feelings for each other? Will Sophia's brothers accept a non shifter for their only sister? Can they make it work? Will they solve the family problems?

I did not think I would fall for another after Edward but as always this was written superbly and can be enjoyed as a stand alone story but, best enjoyed in the series.

I have received an arc for an honest review.

The Billionaire Shifter’s True Alpha is a truly sensational revelation to the maddening thrills and passionate romances that continue in this incredible series! I am irrevocably addicted to this wonderful storyline that has bedazzled and entranced my heart. There is nothing like a masterfully written plot that overflows with brilliantly inspiriting characters that both warm my heart and challenge it at every turn. It can be hard to find something so refreshing and original that you almost cry tear of pure joy when you come across such a story, and this is one of those stories.

If you have wanted to learn more about Sophia, then this is your chance. You not only get to know the professional woman on the outside but also the kind, soft hearted woman that lies quietly underneath. I knew there was so much more to Sophia then she ever let on, and I was thrilled to finally hear her story and see how she falls hard for her One Even more I was delighted to learn that her true mate is one man who can both lovingly dominate and humbly cherish every part of her to oblivion and back.

This book is exquisite heartbreak and pleasurable torture that kept me on the edge of my seat. I had a hard time tearing myself away from it to deal with life, but when I returned I happily submerged myself in the beauty and magnificence of this wonderful work of art. I can’t wait to enjoy and savor the next book in this extra ordinary and phenomenal series!

Diana Seere is a stunningly brilliant author that has captured my heart, mind, and soul with her fierce imagination and unfettered creativity. She is one of my absolutely favorite paranormal authors. I find myself waiting with bated breath for her next epic adventure.

I give The Billionaire Shifter's True Alpha by Diana Seere five Stars. This is book five of the Billionaire Shifters Club series. If you are a fan of Paranormal shifter books you will love this book and this series. I would not recommend reading this book as a standalone. This series should be read in order because there is a story that flows throughout all the book but each book is about a different sibling falling in love.

Sophia Stanton is a bear shifter like her twin brother Derry. Being a bear shifter and a billionaire makes her very confident and also makes her enjoy a lot of men. She is not only rich but she is well educated and very powerful and she has yet to find a man or for that matter a shifter that has been able to fulfill her needs.

Zach Hayden is a biochemist and was always considered an ordinary guy if not on the geek side that was until an accident happen in the research lab Sophia's brother own. This accident made Zach seven inches taller, 70 pounds heavier which in includes lots more muscles and everything got bigger and I mean everything AND he is also now a werewolf.

Zach has been through a lot in the little time since the accident and the Stantons do not believe he has adjusted well so they have confined him the their family compound in Montana. Sophia regardless of how adamant her brothers are against it has offered to teach Zach how to control his new powers and his libido but that goes out the window when they both hear the beat.

When the Stanton's question what his powers and motives are will Zach answer correctly and rise to the occasion or will he screw it all up and never become Sophia's true alpha?

Absolutely loved Zach and Sofia's story! Favorite story in the series thus far!!

Although The Billionaire Shifters Club has primarily been about the Stanton siblings, I felt this story was more about former-human turned shifter Hero, Zach, than with femme alpha heroine, Sofia Stanton. Our author(s) does a fantastic job of relaying all of Zach's turmoil about the lab accident that turned him into a wolf shifter, thus revealing a whole other "fantasy" world, his anxiety over whether the Stantons wanted him dead or alive, his confusion about his place in everyday life, and of course, his overwhelming romantic interest in Sofia Stanton.

Because this story is told from a dual perspective, we can "hear" the internal confusion Sofia struggles with as she realizes she's becoming a one-man woman after her history of enjoying sex with so many partners! Her reactions also provide levity when Zach doesn't react to Sofia's advances the same way other men do!

I really liked being inside Zach's head whenever he used his intelligent, scientific mind to try and reach logical conclusions in his confrontations with Sofia's brooding, eldest brother, Asher, and when he innately allowed his unknown shifter feelings to guide him. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Zach evolves and his impact on the shifter world.

Love the dynamic of these two very different alpha personalities and how they blended to become a super-alpha couple!

Shifting Worlds

Sophie Stanton is a rich, powerful bear shifter. She's a sexual creature always looking for her next conquest. Zach Hayden was a single human man. His life as a scientific researcher was a comfortable, interesting one. He was working at Lupinex, owned by Sophie's brother Gavin, a lab that is searching for answers to the mystery of shifter's blood. Unfortunately, Zach has "an incident" in the lab and the results are life changing. He turns from an average sized, brilliant human scientist into a still brilliant, but oversized, angry wolf shifter. Sophia offers to take charge of his rehabilitation. She was attracted to him as a human, and now she feels "The Beat" of a mate with him. But Zach's traumatic change is not so easily overcome. He's clearly drawn to Sophie, but interference by her brothers, an insidious evil adversary and his own insecurities prevent him from committing to her. His need to adapt to his new life overwhelms him and his loss of his old life depresses him. Zach is caught up in the fight of the shifter world to either protect or conquer humans. He straddles both worlds and must prove his loyalty to the side of his choosing. Thrilling tale of fierce transition, burning loyalty and dramatic love. The world of shifters is emotional, dangerous and intimidating in this alternative world. This series continues to provide insight into a paranormal culture that is fascinating with magnetic characters who draw us into their lives. I just want more.

A Page Turning Delight!

I haven’t read a shifter romance in quite some time, preferring other romances for awhile. I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to read this book at first but a couple of pages in, I was hooked!

This story kept me interested and entertained. I loved the family dynamics with the brothers being ridiculously protective of their sister regardless that she is an adult and fully capable of taking care of herself. The imagination of the author is quite interesting in regards to the whole concept of “The Beat”. I liked that. It has a infallible permanence in these shifter relationships that give the couples confidence in the strength of their bond. To me, their intuition involving their mate is fun and can be embarrassingly inconvenient at times. Especially if they discover little secrets that the other is not yet ready to divulge. The idea of anyone having the ability to intrude into someone else’s thoughts and emotions could be a bit unsettling. Zach’s ability to sense Sophia’s secret in such detail is heartwarming and exciting to see where it will go.

I liked the pace of this story and the family closeness. They each respect the older siblings but yet they have fun together. I like that Zach was able to be excepted with his own skill set that benefits the family. I thought this story was exciting, mysterious and heartwarming all rolled into one. It is a true page-turner as I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I will definitely enjoy reading more books from Diana Seere!

This series is filled with a little mystery that has left me needing more. I love how Diana Seere went a little more with this book. We got answers yet are left needing more.

By far, this book is my favorite in the series. I loved Sophia Stanton and Zach Hayden's characters. They were different from the rest of the characters yet fit flawlessly in with the rest of the gang. I was sad to see this book end. I wanted to see what else was going to happen with these two and what would happen with Zach's powers.

Zach was accidentally pricked with a needle and changed into a shifter. It was not pretty and left him seriously injured and trying to figure out just who he was now that his life has been altered forever. He is bigger, all his senses are amplified, and to top it off shifters are real! There is much more he did not realize was going on. That has left his head spinning. He needs to find himself again and without everyone watching him.

Sofia Stanton is a bear shifter who never expected to be tied down ever. She is independent and self-sufficient. She does not need anyone to tell her what she can and cannot do. That is until she meets Zach and realized that life is better with him. She does not care what her brother thinks is best for her. She knows deep down Zach is important to her and her bear.

If you have not read the other books in these series, I highly recommend it. You do not have to read them to understand what is going on but you really need to see them shining on their own. I love all the Stanton gang.

Did you ever get the feeling that when a character is heading for their own “downfall”, it is gonna be a BIG one? If you have been reading the Billionaire Shifters Club series, you will know what I mean.

The Billionaire Shifter’s True Alpha is a standalone however there is a lot of interaction with characters in other books and made reading much more enjoyable, at least to me. For instance, we were introduced to Sophia Stanton early on in the series and this book is all about her…and her “One”. It’s actually pretty funny to see her be faced with her actual fated mate as she is a bit of a…well, let’s just say she does enjoy men. She is a bear shifter so physically, she is an imposing woman but all woman she is! We met Zach Hayden in a previous story – I won’t go into what happened to him as the author does a much better job but let’s say he is now taller, bigger, badder, annnnnnnnd a “new” shifter. You’ll have to read the book to find out all the smexy details. Love the part where both he and Sophia discover his new 8-pack!

There is an ongoing plot that is fast and furious but know that this story is also about family and love and finding and accepting your fate. I truly worried for Zach as he has a very tough road to follow. But he and Sophia have to also navigate their own relationship and they WILL get to their HEA. And the (new) Big Guy is pretty handy for the Stanton family to have around! Love this shifter story!

For me, this series is the literary equivalent of junk food, and this installment isn't much different. It's quick and easy and fun, and it tastes good while I'm gobbling it up, but there really isn't much substance to it. As long as your expectations are aligned with what you're getting, you may well enjoy this steamy paranormal romance.

I did enjoy our lead characters, and having Zach's status as a shifter be the result of a lab accident introduced some fresh factors into this story that I enjoyed. However, as with previous books in the Billionaire Shifters Club series, I thought the ratio of plot to sex scenes was a bit low. The authors have created an interesting world here, and I find it endlessly frustrating that they are revealing its mysteries so slowly! I am curious enough, though, that I will likely not be able to resist reading the rest of the series.

I didn’t notice any significant editing or formatting problems. There is some violence and crude language and many explicit sex scenes, so this is best for a mature audience not easily offended. Also, while this could be read on its own, it will make a lot more sense if you are reading all of the books in the series in order.

I volunteered to review an advanced reader copy of this book.

The fifth book in the Billionaire Shifters Club series -- the Billionaire Shifter's True Alpha centers on Sophia Stanton, Derry's twin and a bear shifter. She has spent her entire life not believing in The Beat or finding "The One". She is beautiful, irresistible and wealthy. She can get any man she wants and often does. She is also surprisingly nurturing and does work as a nurse now and again.

She met Zach Hayden before and made it clear that she wanted him though he was human. Zach, however, was not interested. He had goals and dating (or having sex) was not part of those goals. He works for Garrett in the lab trying to understand and help shifters. An accident changes his life forever.

When they next meet, the sparks fly from across the room. But Sophia still can't be believe that "The Beat" actually exists, despite her brothers having found their ONE. And Zach? He just can't trust anyone, especially anyone in the Stanton family. While there are still some humorous parts, this book is much more serious and the events that transpire can shape the shifter world forever as well as the Stanton family. There were a few tears and much steam to be had as well.

Zach Hayden’s entire world turned upside down when a lab accident leads to him being injected with shifter sermon. Months later Zach is trying to deal with his new reality of being a werewolf with powers beyond anyone’s expectations.
The Stanton family is torn over how to ha for Zach, who was injured in Gavin’s lab. Oldest sibling, Asher, wants to eliminate the threat but when Sophia lays eyes on Zach she is unwilling to let Asher win and convinces her family to relocate Zach to their family ranch in Montana.
As Sophia tries to help Zach adjust, she realizes their is more to their lust then animal attraction, she hears the Beat. A mythical indicator that you found our soul mate. But things don’t go well as Zach fights accepting who he has become and outside forces threaten what the could have.
This was another great installment. Love seeing the full cast again and again. Appreciate that each book can be read as a stand alone but there is an overarching plot that combines everything together.
I received this book from the author at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher

Sophia is one of my favorites. She got so much more depth in this book. So much more fight. And she gave insight into the difficulties of not only being the only female shifter in a pack, but also being a bear shifter. While Zach was hot and cold.

I am so torn by Zach. On the one hand the nature of his backstory demands things be complicated, on the other hand he was a total dick at some moments. Not seeing Sophia for her. Refusing to admit he heard The Beat.

Asher is slightly more tolerable this book. But only slightly. He’s mostly still extremely annoying and overbearing. Sophia was the first time we got even a glimpse into who Asher used to be though.

Now this book had the usual flare we love from this series:
-fated mates
-billionaire love story
-shifters
-curvy heroine
-virgin hero (although why does he never tell Sophia??)

But there were so many moments I wanted to rip my hair out reading this. Like the angst against one another was just not hitting right. Probably because the hero did all the running, while the heroine faced heartbreak.

It was okay. I really wished I loved it more. Because I did love Sophia. So very much.

Incredible Series – Excited to Read Sophia’s Story!!

This series tells the story of the Stanton family; this book focuses on the only sister, bear-shifter Sophia. Sophia likes to play the field, and Zach is the only man who has ever turned her down. Back then Zach was an ordinary guy, a biochemist working in the research lab – but an accident turned him into a werewolf. He is now 7 inches taller, has 70 pounds of new muscles.

Zach has just recovered physically from the damage caused by his first shift – but now he needs to learn how to act as a shifter and to be able to control his wolf. Sophia offers to train him at the family ranch. We are treated to some entertaining and steamy scenes as these two work out their differences. When Zach calls on his Paramedic training to save a family member his acceptance improves, but he is still considered a danger.

As the Beat makes itself felt, and danger escalates you find yourself unable to put this story down!! An excellent read from a stellar series!!

Sophia Stanton has been quite the match for her twin Derry in sexual conquests, until Derry met his One and gave all that up. A bear shifter, her annual preparation for winter hibernation has been to load up on sexual activity. No man or shifter has refused her—except one. It will take a true alpha to be her match.
Zach is, was, a total lab rat. Then a mishap with a needle forever changes his life, and he’s not sure that it’s for the better. He’s introduced into a world he didn’t know existed, going through physical and mental changes that leave him whirling, and being kept under wraps/held by Asher Stanton. Then he meets Sophia, again, and a whole other set of complications arises. What is this Beat thing?
A truly well written, not to mention hot, addition to the series. Well done! I voluntarily read this Advance Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
