Wow, what can I say? This was beautifully written, with many heart-stopping moments, exactly what I’ve come to expect so far from the author. Strong, intelligent, independent women facing strong, intelligent, independent men, who manage to work through and compromise in order to give into their attraction and love. There are no easy wins and no easy gains, as each has as much to lose as they have to gain. Yet it’s all done in a way that’s not only believable, but as heart-rending as it is heart-warming. Your heart will break before it is mended again. Yet living through that pain brings such warmth in its wonderful HEA conclusion.

I actually remember discussions following a question on the author’s group about the ending to this story, on whether the daughter, Olivia, should be allowed to die or survive by some miracle. I will not give away spoilers on which ending was finally chosen (you can find them easily enough, anyway!), but I will say that it was certainly believable.

The only fault that I can give this story is that some of the scenes in the middle were too long and sometimes the characters took too long to make decisions. The romance side was dragged out out of necessity, which worked, but there were other parts where you sit wondering if the scene was necessary and waiting for the story to progress. That can, unfortunately, happen with a longer story, but none of those criticisms detract from the story as a whole, which builds up perfectly and is wonderful in its conclusion. And of course, none of that will stop me from reading and supporting the author and watching her progress further, exploring other avenues and grand ideas!

Final rating: ★★★★☆ – Really liked

A second chance a love romance with a nice Christmas miracle for the season. Even though you knew there would be a happy ending for all it was still a nice read. Predictable does not mean boring. The story was emotional and had good characters.

Wow!! What an awesome book. Ms. Serruya used her words to touch the heart of this reader. Any book regarding children especially ill ones are always difficult. I liked the wày Ava and Alek met. Neither was looking for or expecting anything that night. Ava became Olivia's doctor which changed the relationship and dynamics between Alek and Ava. Olivia is as much of a main character as are Ava and Alek. Ava is Olivia's oncologist, a cancer specialist. Alek wants his 8 year old daughter to have the best care until she dies. The story was very emotional at times given the child's health. How the author gave readers moments of happiness and joy especially since that was Olivia's goal brought warmth and love into the story. Reading the story over the holidays is a reminder that even in darkness there can be moments of light. QI highly recommend this story. I received a complementary copy of this book via Hidden Gems and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Swedish especially in this series.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. what an emotional roller coaster rider. we meet Ava, a pediatric oncologist, who strives to help children stricken with cancer. past experience and hurt make her dedication an art. then we meet Aleksander, a billionaire lawyer who lost his wife a year ago and his daughter who is a patient of Ava's (but doenst know it). he was told by Olivias doctors that there was nothing else for them to do and best to take her home for her last months. distraught, Alek goes out with his brother, and comes face to face with the most beautiful blonde woman he has ever had the privilege to lay his eyes one. he is immediate smitten. Ava is out for her coworkers bday and sitting alone thinking when she feels a presence looking at her and she spots a very handsome man. flirting and a kiss end the night. the next thing they both know.....ava is olivias doctor and alek is olivias dad...omg!! Alek is hiring staff from the hospital to oversee his daughter and ava is forced to participate. being in close proximity has taken a toll on both ava and alek...trying to fight their attraction for one another. Ava is trying to find a "cure" for olivia and will do anything to find it. when a consult results in hope, can ava violate ethics? can ava give herself to alek when she cant trust her own heart? can alek make ava see how he feels about her? will olivia succumb to her brain tumor? a great story with a sad undercurrent. christmas is a time of miracles...but can a miracle happen for the characters?

I voluntarily received an arc for an honest review.
Aleks is a rich and powerful man but even he can't buy a cure for his daughter, Olivia, who is being sent home from the hospital soon to live out her last days brought about by cancer.
Ava is a pretty doctor who is fighting for a cure for her patient, Olivia, and also getting over her own heartbreak and tragedies.
One night at a bar where both Aleks and Ava go to find some distraction, they find an instant electric attraction for each other and share a powerful kiss.
Unbeknownst to each other they will soon be brought together to save a little girl who just wants to enjoy one more Christmas with her dad .
Can they find a cure and save Olivia's life and can they allow love into both of their hearts even though it may be unethical due to circumstances? A great emotional and gripping read!!

This storyline was really good and pretty unique. The characters were fairly well developed, and while they seemed very different to each other at the start, they became more similar by the end. There was an intensity to Aleksander that I just loved; his emotions felt very real.

While I enjoyed nearly everything about this story, for me it just dragged on and on. I had an incredibly hard time finishing it and have never taken so long to read a book in my life. Maybe it had some extraneous parts or the events just moved very slowly, or maybe it was just a lack of interest on my part, but a book this size that I would normally finish in a day took me over a week. Still a very moving and intense story.

Be prepared and have a box of tissues by your side while reading this. Cristiane Serruya took me on an emotional roller coaster, with heartbreaking and heart aching scenes about a young girl, Olivia, who has a brain tumour that is cancerous. Her father, Alek, is told to take her home for her final days and takes a doctor and nurse for the 24 hour care needed. Little did he suspect that the doctor would be Ava, the woman he met the night before and the first woman who has stirred feelings in him since his wife’s death.
A journey that takes both Alek and Ava through their past losses, overcoming their grief and learning to live instead of just being alive. Alek is a good man who is a devoted father and was a devoted husband until the tragedy and now he has his sights on Ava. Ava is the type of doctor and woman you would want on your side, she’s compassionate, kind, selfless and has devoted her life to saving children from a disease no one should experience. Olivia is the innocent child and it was hard not to cry at some of things that she would say and at other times burst out laughing.
An amazing read with some steam, amazing characters, a story that flowed beautifully and a read that made me reach for tissues from beginning to end but also made me smile that a HEA could still be found after everything.

I received an ARC copy of this book with no obligation to leave my honest review.
Wow, again another book that totally pulled on the heartstrings. She again has such a beautiful descriptive writing style that sucks you in from the beginning and has you feeling like you personally know each character and have become invested in their lives.
I'll start with Olivia, what a strong, positive child she is and at times I had to stop reading as I teared up a little, the dreaded cancer word is always one I find hard to read about so it really felt like an emotional ride for me personally.
Alek was wonderful and trying to be the rock that Olivia needed, who struggled to see to his own needs as well. He seemed very much in tune with his emotions up to a point but I loved how open he was with Ava.
Ava I had mixed emotions with as she did break the hospitals ethical rules but on the other hand what she did saved Olivia so how can you hold it against her but I was pleased to see her have some consequences for her actions. I also liked that she came from money but didn't flaunt it in your face.
Lots of great secondary characters who play vital roles throughout the story and we get to see a little of Markus and Hannah again as well which was nice.
This one had it all, grief, loss, love and the chance at a different happiness with such well developed characters that you will find it hard to put down.
Overall a great addition to this series and I really look forward to more.

Received this book as an ARC for my voluntary review.

Ava is an oncology doctor and Alek has a little girl at Ava's hospital. Alek and his brother decide to go out one night and they run into Ava who they have never met before. They feel a very deep connection but never thought they would see each other again. Alek is resigned to the fact that his daughter is going to die and he wants the best team to be there for her, which now includes Ava. Tensions arise and feelings are flamed because of them all now living together under one roof. The book was a tad long and a lot of parts that just felt unfinished like when he was buying Olivia a dress in a magazine, what happened? did he buy it? what did she think? Then everything was wrapped up in a nice little bow.

Ava and Aleksander meet one night in a bar and the attraction is instant for both of them. They both go their separate ways and are surprised to meet at the hospital the next day. Ava is a pediatric oncologist and Alek has a daughter (Olivia) who is dying of Cancer. He needs a doctor to help with her care and Ava volunteers. Alek and Ava try to put their attraction for one another aside while caring for Olivia. Ava believes there might be a way to help the little girl she has come to love and tries to find a cure for Olivia.

This is a heartwarming story about life and love. It was a page turner that I could not put down anxious to see what happens next. It was great to read how the connection between the two grows. It also included several surprises along the way. This is my first book from this author and it was a very enjoyable read.

I voluntarily received an ARC of this book, on exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in this series. Both books are standalone stories, so reading the first one is not vital.
Given the blurb, I expected to find this book an emotional rollercoaster. For me, this is either the type of book you will cry your heart out to, or it is the type that will not pull at your heartstrings. No matter how hard you try! Unfortunately, i fell into the dry eye category. I can only imagine that these storylines are extremely difficult to get the right balance.

Grab a box of tissues and be prepared to ride an unbelievable roller coaster of emotions. This book literally rips your heart out as you become enmeshed in the story of pain, loss, angst, guilt, hope, and finally love. The storyline is masterfully written; the charade believable you are in the story with them. The HEA comes not a moment to soon. I was greatly moved by this story; it will touch you in ways you would not usually consider. You need to get this book today...(I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was totally blown away by it.)

Cristiane Serruya pleasantly surprises me once again! Reading the blurb I thought: “How can she get away with writing about such a serious subject while incorporating a burgeoning love story?” Well she did it with such skill and respect and feeling. This is the third book I read from this author. I find it difficult to read about a desperately sick child because it is heartbreaking on its own, but also because I realize that it could have happened to my (or anybody’s) child. But the way the writer gives space to her protagonists tell the story at their own pace and in their own way is so pure and beautiful. It is clear that she did thorough research on the subject and she doesn’t cut corners. I forced myself to read a few chapters at a time and really process what I was reading rather than reading the book in one sitting, which is my normal MO. I’m in awe!

Forevermore (Ever More #2)
by Cristiane Serruya

I received a free copy of this book via hidden gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A wonderful continuation of the series. The characters remain consistent and continue to grow which is refreshing. A wonderful cross between the heart wrenching drama of Nicholas Sparks with the passion of a typical billionaire romance. This isn’t your typical billionaire romance however. A tale of two well off well rounded characters with lives of their own and a plot that’s well developed make this a great, steamy read.

A good Hallmark movie

Pleasantly surprised at how grounded this story is. Since the story is about a billionaire and his extremely ill child and a brilliant doctor, it could have been sugar sweet. But it is not. So if you are in the mood for a romance with money and with some angst then this one will do it.

This emotional journey is a beautifully written story of love, hope, faith and healing. Ava and Aleksander first meet as a one night stand. Both are looking for that fulfillment thinking they will never see each other again. When Alex's daughter, Olivia is in need of medical attention, Ava becomes her live in doctor and these two get a second chance at love. This story is chock full of emotions. As a parent, I was drawn in and wanted to see how things turned out. Ava is a great character, wanting to do what is right and has a huge heart. Alex is the ultimate father, but I truly loved his evolution in living again. This book pulled at my heart strings! It's the second in the series and can definitely be read as a standalone, but I do recommend the first book too!

Victoria Mei is wonderful as the narrator of this book. Her voices are incredible to begin with and with the content of this book, she pulled every emotion and feeling I had as the story unfolded. Her talent is evident in the listen as she could make me laugh and cry, hope and love.

I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review.
First off, I loved getting to revisit characters from the previous book and see where their lives are now even though the books are definitely standalone. Beyond that, this was a deep and touching story about a dad, Alek, his very ill little girl, Olivia, and the woman, Ava, who comes in to irrevocably change both their lives. The story starts off with Alek being told that Olivia's cancer is no longer responding to treatments and she only has a month or two left to live, so Alek is determined to grant her every wish in the time he has left with her. Ava is a pediatric oncologist who volunteers to see to Olivia's care outside the hospital in her last months and in the process falls for Alek. Every page of this book pulled at my emotions and I couldn't put it down once I started. I hope there will be more to come in this series!

This is the second book in the Ever More Series. This book can be listened as a standalone, but I totally recommend to listen to the first book before! This is the story of Ava, Aleksander and little Olivia. This was an emotional listening, filled with so much love, hope and redemption. Since their first encounter, Ava and Aleksander shared an instant attraction and strong and hot chemistry. They got their second chance to love and we followed them in their journey. I loved their heartwarming and hopeful HEA. This story is beautifully written. Victoria Mei did a wonderful narration with all the voices. She's one of my favorites narrators. I love her beautiful and soft voice. I really enjoyed my listening and I totally recommend this Serie. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Her stories are beautifully written with believable characters and a storyline that will pull every emotion from the reader. I highly recommend this book and all of her books to everyone.

This beautifully crafted story is about a father of terminally ill daughter and her doctor who unwittingly fall in love. Despite all the bitterness, there are always rays of sunshine and hope. That hope and their chemistry will keep readers reading until the end. This is a full length novel with a happy ending to look forward to. A well written story with nice storyline and plot. The characters are well described and likeable. They have great chemistry and amazing passion. It is a second chance romance with all the christmas spirit it takes to captivate the reader. It has passion, emotions, twists, miracle and a lot more.
It is fairly predictable and slow to read because I mean it would have benefited with been a bit shorter. Absolutely a different storyline and worth the read.

This book was so emotional. I loved the characters and Olivia was really the greatest character. The worry of Ava and Alek's relationship was angsty throughout and I'm glad they got their happily ever after at the end. It was very obvious that Olivia would be okay at the end but I would have enjoyed it either way. The way the cancer story was portrayed was very believable and that's what made the book so good and so real.
