Finished the first book and enjoyed the story. Not complex but interesting characters. Started the second book and have decided to stop. Pleasant reading but nothing more. They are a little too "chick-lit" for me and relatively predictable.
The format of several linked stories in one 'book' makes this an ideal pick up and put down book, not quite the stay up all night read. Lovely writing brings the characters and scenes to life, can almost feel I've been to the village and manor house. Totally enjoyed the stories and I will be buying more of the authors books. If you are looking for a relaxing feel good read this is the book for you.
I loved what I learned about Cornish culture. I certainly learned a lot about wedding planning. This writer has a way of whisking you into the middle of the scene and making you welcome
I really enjoyed the first couple of books. After that, I thought a couple of the endings were rushed. By book 6, I felt like I was reading the script to a cheesy Hallmark movie.
