I'm a Scottish writer, now living in Canada, with more than thirty novels published in the genre press and over 300 short story credits in thirteen countries.
My work has appeared in a number of professional anthologies and I have recent short story sales to NATURE Futures and Galaxy's Edge. When I'm not writing I play guitar, drink beer and dream of fortune and glory.
Collection of pulpy stories that claimed to be upbeat or optimistic science fiction— that's how the editor has described this lot. Most of them were readable. Best of the lot were John Linwood Grant's 'An Age of Reason' and William Meikle's 'The Needs of the Many'. The rest placed excessive emphasis upon trying to entertain the reader, hurting the literary style and characterisation in the process. Overall, I found it to be a good collection.
