This was not a series I would have picked up on my own to be honest, but once I started reading it I was hooked and drawn in. A very well written series that fully captured my attention and kept it until the very end. A very interesting take on the church, religion and God.
Start to finish great, compelling writing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. It was unexpected. I just searched for something supernatural and popular so I wasn't certain what to expect. I was hooked from the start and read this series in three days and considering I work full-time, that's saying something. The story, despite being a fictional supernatural premise, was authentic enough to have a realistic impact. I couldn't help imagining how people in this age would react to an event of a proclaimed virgin birth, supernatural healing, and a dark force of men trying to influence and create a power base in the light of technology. The story was clever, well thought out and unique. I loved it.
I won this book (Kindle) from Goodreads and Amazon for an honest review.
This is not my typical genre, with that said, I did find it to be very entertaining. I would not say to the point that I could not put it down (but then again, my genre is typically horror), but it is still a well-written box set and did give me a lot to think about. The author does build her characters very well. The scenes of the story are well defined and make for a realistic feel. I do recommend these stories the author does a lovely job of spinning this story that is different than you would expect. This is an author to look for in the future.
This series was good, interesting, an easy read and kept me interested enough that I wanted to know how it would all end. I thought it was written well, though the premise was not necessarily unique. It reminded me of a mashup between the Left Behind series and The Da Vinci Code. There are religious overtones, but I wouldn't call it a religious themed book, and the characters question the meaning and significance of the different events that occur in the story. I would say it's more a story about women and their empowerment and taking their place in history and society.
I started this collection of books, and quite simply couldnt put it down. I get up for work at 4am......which gave me an hour of reading before leaving for work. I managed 2 hours every night, before I had to go to bed......couldnt wait to see who was good, bad or just a bit player. Was well worth the time spent on it although I did get a little lost with the various players.
Wow what a read! There are 4 books in this series and it’s so hard to put down the books to stop reading. Tats finds herself pregnant and yet she’s still a virgin. These books tell of her travels all over the world to find the answers. She has a lot of trouble along the way but she also meets some great people who are willing to help her.
Hang onto your hate guys!,This is a pressure cooker!
This is one of the best series I've read this year! Lots of twists and turns! Mystery, intrigue, suspense, murder, an awakening and interesting people some to love and some to hate! Get ready to lose a lot of sleep on you his one! I loved it and really loved the ending!
Well written , never a dull moment, but the author should have finished with the family reunion. Even though this is fiction and all the supernatural aspects are the story. I cannot swallow the ending that the government, courts , church and glass ceiling would change
I liked the premise of women and men being more equal - this book was easy to read and flowed well moving from pre pregnancy to toddler and help from both men and women to achieve goals that was long overdue .
Good story, sometimes a little predictable but a few surprises, didn’t realise there was more than one book when I started, took me a while. Not my normal genre but a good read.
What if a young woman claimed to be pregnant without ever having sex? Would her family believe her? Would she be revered or disgraced? Would she be in danger?
This is the situation facing Tara, our protagonist. On one man seems to believe her and he promised to protect her, but he keeps disappearing until her parents begin to believe she is loosing her mind, and believe institutionalizing her might be the safest thing, Tara runs and searches for answers. Is her child the second coming of Christ? Or is there a more rational explanation?
Follow Tara as she seeks answers to her questions? Beware attackers, bombs, and those who say they believe until you are sure what they believe.
This is the review for the first book, The Awakening. I will edit as I continue reading but if the rest of the books are as good as the first, I will enjoy them completely. If I was not fully a believer that the return of our Savior will not be in the form of a baby, but that of a warrior intent on ending the reign of Satan on Earth, I might wonder about this apocalyptic scenario. But I can still enjoy the story and think!
This started off fairly well but by the time I had got half way through I was glossing over pages as there was so much repetition and I was becoming more and more incredulous as the 'plot' went on. Quite honestly I couldn't care less what happened in the end. I eventually quit before I got really annoyed and don't think I'll bother with this author in future.
I was seriously impressed with the first half of this book. It had me wondering what was going to happen next. This book is interesting with lots of twists and turns. However, it got a little to religious for me during the second half and I chose to stop reading the series after the first book. I would highly recommend this book if you do not mind some religion and you like unexpected events that make you think.
