An Alpha Billionaire Romance

I’ll teach her everything I know, both inside the boardroom
and the bedroom.

Lanie Carmichael was in the right place at the right time.
Just in time to meet me, Jax Cooper.
She begged me to teach her the ins and outs of business.
I’ll show her ins and outs.
I didn’t become an overnight billionaire by accident.
Good thing she’s a quick study, because I have just the position for her.

Taught is a stand-alone hot billionaire romance with a HEA, no cheating and lots of twists and turns.

It starts very slow and doesn't really change. It had one saving moment in it but I just couldn't get into the book. It seemed to focus more in the business aspect and not enough on the rest. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this was not one of Sienna Ciles's better books. Hard time finishing.

Taught

I voluntarily agreed to review this ARC.

Taught is a romance that has a young, very successful, tech guy, fall for a woman, just getting started in her investment career. I wanted to like this book, but it just didn't connect for me. So much didn't make sense. Like why make a long introduction of Lanie working for her father in safe investing, wanted to get into more risk taking, when that really didn't play into the plot very much. I also didn't really feel any chemistry between Jax and Lanie. I am so sorry that I didn't like this. It wasn't offensive at all. I just found it a little all over the place and boring. Again, did I say I'm sorry... cause I am.

This is the first book I've read by this author. I thought it was good. I would like to read other books by this author though. There were times I felt the story kind of dragged on and moved a little too slowly. However, I did enjoy the overall plot. Lanie and Jax were more cute than hot. I will read another book by this author but this one is a one time read for me.

This book was terrible. There was nothing romantic about this. Nothing like what was written in the description. Such a waste of time. Lanie and Jay went on one date and barely talked. He didn't teach her anything. The synopsis makes it seem like there would be a lot of chemistry and s x between the two characters but there wasn't. One scene near the end and it was super uninteresting. This book was such a let down.

*** I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book***
This was the first book I read by Sienna Ciles and not so sure I want to read any more. The main characters, Jax and Lanie, were not very interesting and pretty one dimensional. A lot of their interaction lacked chemistry and the book dragged most of the time. This just was not an interesting read for me.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Let me start with an important positive. I found that grammar and editing was fine. I do question categorizing this as a romantic comedy or in any romance categorization at all.

This is about Silicon Valley, IPOs and business. It is about how far some will go to get ahead; either by hard work and dedication to their talents or through ruthless means. It is about testing character, integrity and status. It is about the difference between being satisfied with millions or going for billions. The women are beautiful, the men are handsome, the cars are luxurious.

For me, the most relatable and revealing moments shown in the friendship between Pete and Jax; friends since their pre-teen years. A father's terminal diagnosis is brought up and Pete is broken by the pain. However, I am confused as to why a man of his means wouldn't fly back to NY, if not just to cement the written words about his relationship with his father. It is difficult to believe that he wouldn't. Although, I am not one to tell others how they should react to a family crisis, a sentence is not enough to convince this jaded reader that Pete and his father have the bond that the author is using as part of the back story.

I loved the character of Bill Wallace. I would read a whole book about his life! He is brutally honest, savvy and quick, and modest in every way except in business and his bank account. More material about him could be a gold mine and although he is there, he is part of the background.

Romance seems like an afterthought. One that is so entrenched in the business of business that this is truly not a romance. There are some honest moments that could have expanded the territory that this book takes up, but they are only nibbles. Not one of those nibbles would have me looking at this romantically.

If you would like a quick introduction into Silicon Valley and business, this is a speedy look. A brisk read with a HEA.

Lanie has been working for her father for a while now, but one day she gets brought into her fathers office for a chat, a chat that ended differently then she thought it would, she was fired but her got her a new job that would be more for how she would work well. Jax a man who him and his best friend started a company that is about to be introduced to the world and take off but before any of that his best friend and business partner gets into a horrible car accident which can ruin the reputation of his new business, and when his Aunt Cara makes him an offer he cant refuse he has to decide if he wants that are not.

What I enjoyed most about Taught was seeing the instant chemistry that Jax and Lanie had for one another from the very first meeting, but when she figures out his real name and that he is worth million she feels hurt that he "lied" to her. Jax a man who is trying to make his coding work to have a great life, leaves his life to that until he meets Lanie and things change for him. They will both have to learn all the truths about everything and truths to make it work as is.

This book was a great read, this book has Lanie a woman who works for her father but wants more risks when it comes to her job, her father seeing this fixed that and sent her on her way to her new job, Jax knows his best friend Pete is under a lot of pressure but to get in the car and get into a horrible car accident just doesnt sound like him plus his Aunt has shown interest into him and his company with her assistant that he knows is up to no good. A love story. If you like stories like this, then Taught is a must!

Giving Her The Business🍌🌋

ARC received for an honest review.

I liked the premise of this book but it has WAY too much BUSINESS and not enough FUNNY BUSINESS in it!

JAX🐺🍌🌋💪 is the steamy hot looking sex God that is the CEO and partner in his own software/app business. He and his partner, Pete, have created an App called QuickChat and are hoping to get some financial backers and take the company public. The author spends a lot of time on the business aspect of this book. In fact more time is spent on the business than the funny business!

How does the reader know that Jax🐺🍌🌋💪 is as hot in bed as he looks like he should be? I haven't found out yet and am over 53% of the way through!

Lanie💋 works at an investment firm for her father, a frustrated 🎸guitar player musician. For two years she has worked with the most conservative portfolios. She wants to take some investment risks! She gets her chance when her father fires her, sending her to work for an old investor who's character is modelled on the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett.
The two young people finally meet at a health food take out restaurant and are instantly attracted to each other.
The book is told from both POV, which at times was confusing, because the same events were repeated by both characters. I thought....why am I reading this again, I just read that!
This is not a bad book, it just doesn't have enough xxx scenes to interest me, and the two main characters are thwarted by some outside problem every time they try to get together. Call me a frustrated reader!

This is an extremely good book. Well written and good story. The development is slow and will get you engrossed with it.
This is not the kind of book you know from the start what will happen!

Lanie is all abiut investments, she is working for her father even though that is not her dream job. Out of the blue he fires her but at the same time find her a job with a billionaire investment guru. Her first task buy him food...

Ernest J. Cooper IV, or Jax for his friends, is a self made multimillionaire, all started with Quickchat app, now he and his best friend, who is also the cofounder of the company and who is into coding too, are going public. His great aunt Cara is trying to help him been a CEO, she is a billionaire and has her hand in a lot of pies. She can really help him to make better decisions for his company.

They met at Plant Power, just as Lanie and Jax. But their meeting is cut short. The next time they meet is also cut short because his best friend has been in a accident, but this time Jax got her number. Pete had been drinking and driving and because of that and public image that made all can be over for them, Jax need to made a decision. Does he put first his company or his frindship with Pete?

When Lanie finds out who Jax really is, she cannot understand why he lie to her or about what else he is lying about too. Maybe is all the better to cut short their fledging relationship. She is going out with another man. Can this date be what ends them? Or will it be a way to get the back together?

Lanie Carmichael is an investment broker working at her father's firm and is feeling stunted by the work she is given. She wants to work on accounts where there are more risk to them and her father isn't sure she's ready for that yet. That is until one at he calls her in to fire her and to tel her where she needs to go to learn more about the work she's interested in doing. Lanie's new boss sends her out on her first task which is a test to find him a certain type of food and buy bother her and him a meal with 40 dollars or less and it's during this errand that she meets Jax. Jax sees Lanie going into the place he gets his smoothie and cuts another customer off just so he could be behind her and possible talk to her. The second time they meet is when her boss throws a party and Jax is a guest. Jax and Lanie end up having a misunderstanding that has her going on a date with someone else however it ends up being a good things because she finds out something that ends up saving Jax. This was a great story. The heat between these characters is amazing and the story is well written. I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait to see what this author does next.

This was a great read by Sienna Ciles. Lanie is an investment banker who works for her dad. She is tired of handling her dad's older, conservative clients. She is feeling restless and wants more of a challenging career. She wants to take on more aggressive accounts. She craves the risk. It's what she wants to do. Her dad realizes this and decides to fire her for her own good. He sets her up with a job with Mr. Wallace, an eccentric millionaire investor. He has rather unusual ideas to say the least. He sends her to pick up a plant-based meal as her first assignment. However, this is how she meets Jax aka Ernest Cooper at Plant Power. He is CEO of a tech company called QuickChat with his buddy Pete. Jax is not the typical playboy though. He is smitten at first sight. Just when are looking good for them, a misunderstanding sends Lanie on a date with Chad, a rather shady character. He happens to be an associate of Jax's equally unlikeable Aunt Cara. These two characters are very suspicious. Lets just say things are not always as they seem. The ending could not have been more perfect. Would love for Pete to get his own story next! There is Lanie Carmichael who is an investment broker and works for her father's firm. She wants more challenge and her father ends up firing her and setting her up with a famous investment banker who has made tons of money. Then there is Jax (Ernest Jackson) Cooper who is the CEO of a tech company that he started with his friend Pete. Both are now billionaires. When Pete is hurt in a car accident and left in a coma Jax has to make a decision. Seems Pete may have been driving under the influence and this will decrease their stock price once they go pubic. His aunt who want to invest also wants him to cut Pete out.

While Lanie is on assignment for her new boss, she meets Jax. There is definitely an attraction between the two of them and they start seeing each other. After a miscommunication, Lanie goes on a date with an investment counselor who advises Jax's Aunt Cara. She finds out that they are conspiring to take over Jax's company. What should she do? Will Jax be able to save the company? Will they be able to work things out and find their HEA? You will need to read the book to find out.

Struggling to make his company succeed from the bottom up, Jax knows that he will not stoop to low to get help. Lanie has been working for her father's investment firm and is ready to take more risks. One run in brings them together. Will Jax be able to keep himself straight when it comes to his company? Will Lanie accept whom Jax really is?

Definitely a cute story. There were a couple of holes, but overall it was a good read. I didn't blame Lanie for her reaction, even if I felt that should have recognized Jax when she recognized whom his aunt was. I would proud of Jax refusing to let himself go and sticking to what he could live with. Good story and cannot wait for more from this author!

I personally thought this book was a little slow which surprised me since I like Sienna Ciles. Now that being said, that doesn't mean it isn't a book for others. What I expected from this book, the blurb and the cover was a fantastic romance book with a couple that were so fascinating I couldn't put it down. I felt that the book was more business than romance and it was a very clean read. So if you don't like books with a lot of grit, sex etc., then this book might be for you. I do have to say that the editing and writing of this book was done well. I always feel bad if I have to leave a review like this but I'm asked to be honest. Please check the book out to see if maybe it's one you might like. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Lainie has been working for her dad in his investment company but she really wants to go into the high risk section. Her dad decides the time is right for her and arranges for Lainie to work alongside one of the top in their field on one of her errands for him she gets talking to a gorgeous man in the queue but has no idea who he is. Lainie organises a party her boss wants and she is surprised to see Jax there but he has to leave suddenly and they didn't get to exchange numbers. She finds out that he is a successful businessman and billionaire due to him and his partner Pete designing a social media app. This is a great plot with some appealing characters that take you through the cut throat business with a touch of slow romance..... worth reading

I was offered a copy of this book on a read and review basis, this is a relatively new author and the first one of her books I have read. It was a well written romance, which had a good moralistic plot set within the field of business. I rarely say this but I would seek out other books from this author, I really enjoyed the book. It did not end with a cliff hanger but there were enough things within the sub plot which were left unanswered that I was left wondering if this is a standalone novel or if the author will write other books about other characters within the book. I loved it, it did have sexual content but this did not dominate the book, and if you don't like that sort of content, read the book and just skip the chapter it's in.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book on ARC.

At the beginning starts with Lanie and her dislike of her job, the way her father handles his investment company.

Lanie and Jax on the other hand are so stubborn, she needs to stop being so immature, I really hate it when they just jump to a conclusion without asking the guy, come one, just confront him and get it over with, it's her fault too by not asking for more information about the guy, heeelllo.

The book was a little slow for me, like more could happen and they left me waiting, a couple of holes here and there but a good book and can't wait to read more books from the author.

A story about Lanie and Jax. Jax is a CEO of a tech firm and Lanie is an investment broker. There is instant attraction between the two when they meet. The chemistry is good. This story is written in dual POV and I like that. It gives the reader the opportunity to read both thoughts and feelings of the main characters.
I would have loved the blurb to have been more accurate. The story started of very slow and has a lot of business talk in it. I would have loved more romance less business. Laine is not always mature and that annoyed me a bit. But nice story and well written. The twist in the plot was unsuspected.

There was definitely a lot of heat and chemistry between Lanie and Jax that was evident throughout the book. Sienna did a great job describing the characters, their backgrounds, and emotions. I however thought the story was slow-moving with the end feeling a bit rushed. Also, I don't really think the blurb matched the book as well as it could have. I will give credit to Sienna for the interesting plot twist, I definitely did not see that coming! Over all 3 stars

Jax is the CEO of a tech company he began with his best friend. Lanie is an investment broker trying to learn what it takes to own her own firm. When they first meet the attraction between them is instant. As their paths continue to cross the chemistry between them grows. Though the story moves a bit slowly the twists and turns it takes peaked my interest and kept me reading to find out how their story would end. Will these two invest in love or will a miscommunication keep them apart? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

While the storyline seemed promising, the story for me was just sort of meh. The character development seemed to be very slow--and really the characters were pretty boring. The plot twists were okay, but they just didn't hold my interest. I had really high hopes for this book...and was really disappointed. I think you should get the book and determine for yourself whether it was a real winner or not. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and am rather ambivalent about it.)

Taught I felt was slow to start, but well worth the buildup. Lanie and Jax were fantastic and totally believable characters. Good story line all about learning the game of life and business before playing for keeps. Author knew all about investing and the creation of apps which was fun to read.

This was a good book but it started off slow. There were an interesting variety of characters an evil Aunt to Chad the Cad. Taught is a good story. Jax and Lanie have instant chemistry and it's strong. This story has so many twists and turns that it keeps you hooked wanting to know what happens next. This story is more about the business aspect than romance and is cleaner than I'm used to. However it's still a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. This book rated about 3.75 for me. It was a bit slow in some parts. The story itself is good and presented well. It's on the tame side if you don't like it too steamy. It's entertaining enough to complete but Ive enjoyed the author's other works more.

I did not find this book very romantic at all. It was more about business than anything else. And the two main characters are on their own paths more than they are together. I received an ARC copy of this book for free. Here is my honest review. It took a little to get into the book, there is a lot of back and forth between the two main characters Lanie and Jax, both with their own companies and working to make the best of it. Took a while to really get into the book, but it was a good read, and look forward to others by this author.

Taught: An Alpha Billionaire Romance by Sienna Ciles
This is Lanie Carmichael and Jax Cooper’s story.

Well, the description of the story does not match the story. This story is pretty vanilla. There is only one intimate scene close to the very end of the book and it is maybe PG13. There was very little romance in this read.
