Last Chance by Kira Blakely a five-star read that will have you hooked to the last. I adore Kira Blakely and this was such a great read that I got so sucked into the story I missed the dates telling us where in the time line we were and who was telling their story, so I was a little confused but I just thought it was me being tired, I couldn’t stop reading. This was a great second chance romance and I love the genre and this was a great example it’s such a compelling and heart wrenching read that you won’t be able to put it down. Dash Siegal is a little boy lost when we first meet him, but he soon becomes a man that you can’t help but fall in love with despite his many problems. Janine Davidson is a young woman with a plan, and she has the weight of the world on her shoulders, but will she get to share those when she sees Dash for a second time. Fate has plans for this pair and even though they meet and have an exchange and it could have intervened then for what every reason it didn’t and they went their separate ways and fate waited and now things happen and fate brings them together but does it still have plans for them?
If you are in the mood for a great second chance romance then this is the read for you, and I promise you if you haven’t read this author before you will be going and purchasing her back catalogue as she is a great author.

This is the 4th book I read by Kira Blakely. I liked the hot & steamy scenes. My heart broke 💔 for Dash. This story was too slow for me.

With all the chance romances and fake fiancee books out there, this one takes the cake! After one night of amazing passion with Janine, Dash goes off to the military. It is not until 12 years later when Dash returns that fate intervenes. His father passes away but does not include Dash in the will because the family was upset when Dash left and hadn't spoken to him for the 12 years he was gone. An addendum is read and Dash is allowed his inheritance if he has a family to support within the next three years. Dash goes to the internet and posts a "Wife and child ad." Coincidentally Janine is desperate to have a child so her mother can have a grandchild before she passes. Imagine what happens next, paths cross and new chapters begin. Even though their coming together is under a "fake" pretense it is all real and you can feel it as you read. Their connection from 12 years prior has never gone away and it shows. Through the good times and the not so good times they make it through.

This is one sweet second chance romance with unique serendipity and a vibe of fake marriage story. Yup I'm hooked from the beginning.
The jumping timeline a bit bothering me though, I got confused sometimes and makes it hard to connects with the characters, but in the end, I enjoy reading all those dramas and plots, and love all those sweet and hot moments.
So Yes I enjoy reading this book.

As for the characters. Love Dash and Janine. Love how when emotions and lust and love and all the feelings start to messed up their heads, hearts and completely ruined the original plans.
Love their banters, although I felt their connection very late in the book, but still this couple bring a big smile on my face.

If you're looking for second chance romance. This might be the book for you.

This is a great second chance story. I love how Kira has them meet unexpectedly and have an instant connection but don't meet up again until years later. Dash goes off to the Marnies and thinks about Janine constantly to the point she keeps him safe in his unknowns. I love how they find one another again and pick up right where they left off but the baggage from the past carries a lot of weight for each of them. They slowly fall in love and outside forces creep in from the past. Dash's family comes from money but with a family death Dash has to meet requirements to get his inheritance. Janine's has a very sick family member and she wants to make what time is left their one wish to come true. I enjoyed the chemistry and steamy moments between them they just fit together as if this is a real relationship. Can they overcome their own tradgey and move on from their pretend relationship? I thoroughly enjoyed this book I couldn't read it fast enough; which is frustrating as I only have a couple of hours a night to read. Michelle and Andrew aka Ace, are believable real-life characters. Ones that you can relate easily to right down to shopping at discount stores. Their story held my interest from beginning to end. Ms Blakely has done it yet again and I can't wait for her next book. I received an ARC of this book and am willingly and enthusiastically reviewing it.

Dnf, I barely made it through this but here’s a free fact for the author since they never took the time to simply ask anyone. Marines are Marines, never soldiers. It’s actually offensive to call them as such. You’re welcome.

Totally confused

This author received high ratings for this book and the bonus book, Throttle. I honestly don't understand why. The characters are poorly developed, reeking of immaturity. The language and interactions are that of teenagers. The antagonist in both is a joke and I just find it difficult to believe adults behave in this matter. This was my first read by this author and so happy I read this with my KU subscription. I will leave all future readings of her books by her true fans.

Eh

The book was okay. I jumped a lot. The thing that bugged me was, that you didn't get a lot of interaction with them. Just, she is pregnant, oh hey she is in labor. Plus the heron in this story was suppose to be 30 and she acted like she was 16. It was annoying.

The bonus book was the same. Great guy stupid girl, who can't make up her mind.

I voluntarily read an arc of this book for a fair and honest review. Beginning with a flashback of 2005 Dash informs his brother that he will not be returning to college but in listing in the Marines. Upon hearing his brother's news news Billy is angered. He will be forced to quit medical school to take over his father's business in dashes stead. Janine is at the same bar and overhears the brothers conversation. A fight between brothers soon ensues. Along with the bartender, Janine helps break up the fight. Dash and Janine share a meal and shortly thereafter Janine realizes she will be locked out of her home is she fails to meet curfew. Of course, she is twelve minutes late. With the help of Dash, Janine climbs a tree and gets into her bedroom. She surrenders to her feelings for Dash. It's and one and done and the book picks up in 2017. Dash is returning home for The first time in 12 years. He even missed his father's funeral. During the reading of his fathers well Dash learns he will inherit his portion of his father's estate if he finds himself in a "legal" family situation within three years. Shortly there after Dash and Janine reunite. No spoiler alerts to how that happens. When Dash presents Janine with the marriage contract Janine believes it is fate – however believes it is just coincidence that they have found each other again. Dash plans to keep this relationship strictly platonic, even suggesting IVF for Janine's impregnation. Janine surprised but signs the contract. Having a crazy antagonist like Marissa helps the story, my only problem is the time jumping and not ever really been sure when Dash and Janine fell in love. While I am a huge fan of Miss Blakely I do believe, however, the I love you in this story came a bit late. I just missed the usual Kira Blakely romance

I read this book as part of an arc program. I loved this second chance romance. I think Dash fell in love with Janine on their night together before he left for the marines. Dash and Janine were in college together, only Dash had never noticed Janine. One day when Dash went to meet his brother Billy in a bar to tell him about him joining the marines, Dash noticed Janine quietly sitting in a corner studying. When Billy and Dash get into a fight because Billy thinks he will have to give up medical school to run the family's business with Dash leaving, the bartender goes to throw Dash out, until Janine stands up and says she knows him. They spend the evening together and when Janine realizes she will miss her curfew at the boarding house, Dash takes her home and helps her sneak in. Janine is a virgin but she wants Dash to come in too, giving them one night before he leaves. After twelve years, Dash returns home when his father dies and finds out he was left nothing in the will unless he marries and has a child. Dash decides to post an ad on an online dating site and describes Janine as his ideal wife. Janine has never married and when her terminally ill mother wished she gets to see Janine married and have her own child, Janine turns to online dating and answers Dash's ad, unknowing it is him. They agree to marry, only there are problems that arise for the happy couple. This book had a few twists and I loved it. Dash loved Janine all along and couldn't tell her. Janine tries to fit in with Dash's lifestyle but she is so unsure of herself and how Dash feels. I really like Kira's books and this one is really good.

Awesome book about second chances. Dash meets Janine on the night he had decided to join the Marines. They have some drinks after Dash has a fight with his brother about it. They wind up in Janine’s room after climbing a tree to get in after she was locked out after curfew. She gives her virginity to him that night. Dash comes home 12 years later after his father dies and finds out his father hasn’t left him anything but he adds an addendum to his will that if Dash were married and had a family within three years he would get a third of estate. He puts an add on a dating site using Janine’s memory as his bases stating that they must marry and have a baby. Janine asweres the add because her mother is dying and wants Janine to have a grand baby for her to hold before she dies. They make a deal to marry and have a child and remain together for 5 years. This story is full of twist, lies by omission, jealousy, lust, sexy scenes, outside interference, and love. Will they have a baby in time? Will an ex-girlfirend cause Dash and Janine to break up? Will Janine find out the truth of why Dash needed to get married? Do they have a chance at a happy ever after? Find a comfortable place to read this book and get the answers. I promise you won’t want to put the book down until you have read the whole thing.
Kira has never once disappointed me with her books. She is a very talented writer. She takes her plot and builds her characters to where they intertwine with each other. I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

I voluntarily received an ARC for an honest review. So I couldn't put this book down after I started it. Janine and Dash had such amazing chemistry! Make sure to have some tissues because there were a few parts that will totally make you cry! Yet another Kira Blakley book that I would recommend to others! If you're looking for a second chance romance with drama, a hot ex Marine, hot sex scenes, and some sad parts, then this is the book for you!!
Janine was crushing on Dash and he never noticed her until his final night in town, when he'd decided to join the Marines. Dash was her first and then he left. Twelve years later and he finally comes back, too late to mend fences with his dad. In order for Dash to receive his inheritance he must have a family to support in order to get it, if not then he is completely cut off. So he places an add on Cupid.com with qualifications that are exactly like his one night with Janine. Meanwhile Janine has been dealing with her mom slowly dying of cancer. Her mom mentions that it would be nice to see a grandchild before she dies but not for Janine to rush out and get pregnant. So Janine wanting to grant her mom's last request decided to try the dating site Cupid.com and stumbles upon an add that reminds her of the night she had with Dash. She meets all of the qualifications of the ad and best of all it mentions having a baby right away, which meets her's!
So pick it up today and read about Dash's & Janine's crazy road to love!!

There has been an abundance of fake fiancée books lately, so if you only read a couple, make this one of them. Yes, it’s the typical premise – hero needs a wife in order to gain or keep his inheritance. But the execution in this book is really great. Dash and Janine share a night before he joins the Marines and then find each other again twelve years later through a dating website. Things between Dash and Janine go surprisingly well, until Dash’s past catches up with him and threatens their fledgling relationship.

Kira Blakely is an author I really enjoy so I was excited to get an advance copy of this book. She did a great job creating believable characters struggling with real life situations. The storyline was great and kept my attention easily, especially with the element of suspense and the feeling of “waiting for the other shoe to drop” provided by the unstable antagonist. I was mildly disappointed that Ms. Blakely included the element of one person feeling betrayed because they thought the other person lied because the story was plenty strong with out that. No matter, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I loved Dash and Janine and I wasn’t ready for their story to end. Even with the last chapter giving a glimpse of their lives a few years down the road (❤ when authors do this!), I hated to say goodbye to these characters. Another excellent work by Ms. Blakely!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. What a great read. Definitely one of my favorites of Ms
Blakely's. I loved Dash and Janine from the very start. I liked how Ms Blakely has them meet in 2005 and has them hooking up with no bitter feelings between them when Dash leaves explaining he has joined the Marines. Fast forward 12 years and Dash has returned home have serving his country and learning of his father's death. He and his father did not agree on Dash joining the Marines. He was expected to join the family business and one day head the company. Janine is now dealing with her mother who is battling cancer and has recently quit work to help her. Dash finds out there is an addendum to his fathers will. He must marry and have a child within three years of the reading of the will. Janine's mom would love to see her married and with a family of her own before she passes. The two meet after Dash places an ad in a dating site and Janine answers it. It seems to good to be true. Dash's add describes Janine to a tee. Is it fate? This book kept me on my toes from beginning to end. The added threat from Marisa, a completely crazy woman from Dash's past helped make this story a great read as well as the chemistry between Dash and Janine. They are one hot and steamy couple. I loved the HEA!

I loved this book because I believe in second chances, I know I am happy I gave a second chance to my hubby. Janice and Dash talk to each other for the first time in a bar, but Janice had noticed Dash in one of her classes and was too shy to talk to him before. She decides to talk to him when she finds out he will be leaving to join the Marines. They have a great time together.

Dash returns twelve years later when his father dies. They had a falling out and he was cut out of the will unless he had returned and had a family to support within three years of his father's death. Janice has quit her job to take care of her mother who has cancer. Her tells her she knows she does not have long anymore and only wishes that Janice would find a husband and have a child.

They both decide to set up an online profile with the intent of a quick family even if there is no love involved, since neither one of them has been able to find someone they enjoy being with. Dash has compared many girls to Janice and was thinking of her when he wrote what he was looking for and his needs just happened to meet hers. A must read to find out if a spark can turn into the fire of love after so many years and what challenges they each face when they meet again.

What a great story. The one night stand story for Janine and Dash turns into a marriage of convenience plot line years later after they'd first met, they both seek out a spouse and children as fast as possible. They discuss the amount of time they wish to remain married, they'd have a child by then, hopefully! Janine will have her wish and Dash will then have his part in his families wishes covered also, they can then arrange a divorce, and still be friends, it was all very clean and clinical....but thing don't always work out, clean and clinical....they get hot, tense and very steamy, especially when your trying to procreate, and along the way they forgot the reasons why when they found their feelings drawn into their crazy scheme.
A real rollercoaster of twist and turns as Janine and Dash learn to cope with their changing feelings and circumstances as scary suspense threatens their new found happiness. I throughly enjoyed this book, the story was excellent and I loved how the characters developed and grew, very realistic.
Last Chance is definitely a 5 star read and I would highly recommend it!

Another phenomenal book by Ms. Kira!!! Who doesn't love a second chance love story.
Dash needs a wife and child to get his inheritance. Janine wants to grant her dying mothers last wish, to see her daughter married with a baby. Janine sees the chance to make her mom's dream come through after reading an AD. Dash and Janine has met when they were younger and had a passionate night!! Then Dash left for the Marines and Janine went on with her life.
Fast forward twelve years, Dash has put out an AD because he needs a wife and child in order to not lose his ininheritance. He didn't expect Janine to be the one answering the ad. She was the one that got away and now there's a signed contract between the two. But will it be a relationship only on paper or will the emotions that were felt in the beginning blossom into a HEA?
A great story that I highly recommend!!!❤ second changes and steamy sex!! What else does someone need to want to read this book!!!

Strange how it is that some parents expect their children to live up to their expectations. Heaven forbid that they have their own dreams or want to make their own way. So when Dash chooses to join the marines instead of following his father’s plan for him, there is anger and bitterness. And there will be no coming home again…

What are the odds that the person you once spent a passionate night with would find you again-- years later. The spark is still there-- the fire still burns-- but this is just an arrangement. She needs the money. He needs a wife and a child to get his inheritance...
Okay, so if you read the blurb, you already know this... So what's my point?

It's that spark I mentioned. It's that fire. It's the fact that Fate and Love can find you and not let you go. And sometimes life gives you a second chance.
There are may twists and turns in the path these two have taken. There are enemies and pitfalls. If they learn to be friends as well as lovers, and learn to trust each other and to believe, just maybe they will find the way home.

Last Chance by Kira Blakely is a fantastic second chance romance with all the feels that will keep you hooked until the last page.

Dash and Janine share a passionate one night stand together while in college. Twelve years later Dash is back from the Marines due to his father's passing. After learning that he must marry and have a family to receive his inheritance Dash posts a wife wanted ad on a dating website. Imagine his surprise when the woman who answers his ad is none other than Janine. Janine wants to fulfill her mother's last wishes and have a child. A marriage of convenience seems like the perfect way they both get what they want.

The spark between Dash and Janine is still there after all the years apart. What happens when the lines become blurred between what is real and pretend? Can Dash and Janine find their happily ever after together? Pick up Last Chance to find out! This fantastic second chance romance will have you feeling all the feels and rooting for Dash and Janine to realize what they have found together is more than a mere act.

What happens when you meet the person your supposed to be with 12 years to soon? Dash and Janine meet on the day that Dash tells his brother that he's joining the Marines. After his argument with his brother, Dash strikes up a conversation with Janine and soon the sparks are flying and the night is looking up! Janine is focused on completing her college degree and Dash is leaving for the Marines so they know they will only have this one night together. Fast forward 12 years and they're back in each others lives and embarking on a life changing arrangement for different reasons. Dash needs a wife and child to receive his inheritance and Janine wants to fulfill her mother's dying wish, to have a grandchild. This is supposed to be a contract marriage but things become very real, very fast! I really liked this story and I shed a few tears along the way! Dash and Janine have a bumpy journey and along the way their relationship and friendship grows more then either if them expected! A definite must read!

This is the first book I have read by this author. Although I did like it, I felt that the climatic areas fell kind of flat; over before you knew it or didn't come at all. The story does jump ahead through time, which is fine, but in the beginning, there was no real reference of how far time had passed. Later on in the book, there were dates so you did get to know how much time had passed. The only downfall of so much jumping ahead, to me, was I couldn't get the sense of how deep their relationship was getting. I felt like I was being told more about their relationship rather than seeing it play out (if that makes sense). In my opinion, there were just some parts of the story that really could have been expanded on with more details.

I liked the main characters. I liked the HEA. I do plan on reading more books by this author. I have not read the bonus book 'Throttle' yet, so I have no review on it right now.

The theme Is not a unique premise - Single man needs to marry/have child in order to inherit a large sum of money/property/business. Finds woman, signs contract good for X number of years then can divorce out of marriage. Matters of the heart complicate matters and decisions must be made, feelings realIzed before an HEA is determined.
The storyline was well developed and well paced from scene to scene. The ending was satisfying. The characters were also well-rounded and believable. The protagonists, Dash and Janine had good chemistry and hot sex. The antagonists were unique. Marissa was bat sh*t crazy and Dash's brother, Billy started out angry and bitter evolved towards the end.
For me this a satisfying read and I think it would be for you too. Enjoy!

Dash and Janine met 12years prior before Dash went off and joined the marines. They were just a one night stand until they cross paths again 12 years later when Dash returns home because his father has passed. Dash learns that in order to inherit he has to have a family of his own. Janine wants to give her mother the one things she longs for before she dies a grandchild. Dash places an ad on a dating site and imagine Janine's surprise when she responds and finds out its Dash. They both agree to a arrangement and everything immediately goes from being fake to real when their emotions take over. This was a great story with strong characters. The chemistry between Dash and Janine was amazing. I would recommend this book to any of my book friends.

When Dash and Janine meet in a bar he just finished fighting with his brother because he was leaving school and becoming a marine. He and Janine spend one passionate night together before he leaves but he is home now because his dad just died. Because they had bad blood between them Dashs father leaves him nothing in the will unless he has a family within three years, so he puts an ad in a dating service.
Janine's mom is dying and one of her dying wishes was to have a grandchild so Janine answers an ad fora husband and child. Imagine her surprise when it's Dash that she meets but this is not an easy marriage see Dashs past is obsessed with him and Janine isn't really cut out for this life. I did love the characters and how they felt about each other.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review. Last Chance is a story based around Dash and Janine and the requirement that suits them both to be in a fake marriage. Their story will have you hooked and biting your nails in anticipation that what starts out fake ends up so real. To me this was less about a Last Chance and more about fate, when two peoples paths cross at two separate times maybe it is the universe letting them know that they were always destined for each other. Dash at times made me want to knock some sense into him when he held back the complete truths from Janine. This book will have you a little anxious at times but the heart of the story will have you falling in love with these two and the sizzling chemistry between them is just the icing on the cake.

This story did absolutely not disappoint me. I was caught from the first to last chapter. I loved the story line and plot. I just had to read it in one sitting. The main characters are Dash and Janine. It is a second chance romance with a different story line than usual. I like that it is written in dual POV because that gives a lot more to the readers. It is possible to read the thoughts and feelings of both parts. It gives the story the needed edge so the reader can be there and get it all in. Both Dash and Janine has not had the best childhood. Dash still struggles with it because he has to marry and father a child else he will loose his inheritance. He asks Janine and what happens you have to read yourself. Steamy, drama, passion, lust and twists makes this a great story. I can only recommend this story.
